If Ryan Loft is the best in that position then I'm surprised you're not below Scunthorpe.
Seeming as he’s a striker and the striker wasnt mentioned, then you can assume he’s not

I understood what you meant in this post. Mainly because i understand that 5 cannot go into 3 in the context of it.
I don’t think I’ve over complicated it?

Belshaw (GK) Taylor (CB) Evans (CM) all injured and best in their positions + Loft & Clarke injured (both strikers).

Then again, I probably did

I couldn’t care less. I’m bothered about my managers winning games, which he isn’t doing enough of at the minute that’s why City fans don’t like him. Win tomorrow and he can go stick two fingers up at your lot and I’ll clap him off I have no desire for our manager to be liked by other clubs, or our style of play.

Looking back to the season opener, a tight game narrowly won by Rovers, but wasn't expecting Walsall to slump and be in the relegation mix on that showing. On current form, we're capable of taking all the points, although
nothing's a given with Tranmere. Could do with the win to strengthen our position in the autos, as after a midweek trip to Hartlepool, which is hard to call, we've a set of fixtures coming up against sides at the upper end of the table, where it will be tough to gain maximum points.

Our last 7/8 weeks timeline:

11th December: Crawley (H) L1-2 (Scored a lucky Own Goal) Tom James injures hamstring and out for 4/5 months.
18th December: Tranmere (A) L0-1 - Squad gets hit by covid, EFL reject our request to postpone game.

No League game for 4 weeks due to all our opponents reporting covid outbreaks in their squads- 9th Jan lose 0-2 to Stoke in FA Cup which is sandwiched in between.

First choice central midfielder Craig Clay is then ruled out for the rest of the season, requiring an operation on his knee.

22nd January: Port Vale (H) D0-0
25th January: Newport (H) L0-1*
29th January: Mansfield (A) L0-2* - Forward Paul Smyth ruled out for rest of season with collapsed lung.
1st Febraury: Bradford (A) D1-1
5th Febraury: Colchester (H) L0-1 - 2 more players contract covid, Jordan Brown suffers head injury.
8th February: Exeter (A) L0-1* - Defender Dan Happe ruled out for rest of season with ACL injury.

*Indicates goal conceded from set play.

So we've pretty much not had any luck for a while.

Having said that, Jackett hasn't helped himself - His constant ostracizing of certain senior players isn't helping matters - He did it to Darren Pratley before basically having no other choice but to pick him again due to lack of numbers, he's done it twice now to Conor Wood and thats been going on ALL season. I was told he did it to Callum Reilly as well - He basically removes certain players from training with the first team and makes them work alone. I was also told he doesn't use Ruel Sotiriou that much because he doesn't like how greedy he is on the pitch, or something to do with his general all round team play.

He also doesn't make subs anymore unless he has to.

Combine all this together and you get the run we're on, we narrowly lose games but don't look like scoring. Ever. Last week once Colchester scored our team just gave up and they gave up when Exeter scored as well Tuesday.

Nerdford tomorrow, will likely we the same narrow 1-0 loss with half our team coming back to fitness if they haven't been ostracized from the squad all together FFS.

I'm sure he will stick 2 fingers up to us if you win, and I'm sure we'll hurl abuse at the c*** all game, which is absolutely justifiable

few injuries for us today..McGowan and Sowerby, Kanu, potentially a few others...

so would take a draw now...although I've heard Port Vale haven't been the best at defending set pieces? is this true?

Be interesting to see if we stick with a back 3 which we have moved to in recent weeks. Expecting a low scoring game, we have not scored or conceded more than 1 in our last 7 games. With our January additions we have started to look like creating more from open play, but still more than half coming from our goals this season have come from set pieces which is mental.

Not taking anything from the opening game of the season when we won at home, both teams are completely different now. A win here would be huge for our season.

Joey Barton seems to be doing his best to rally the club for todays game.

Had a look on Swindons forum to see their thoughts on todays game and wow they're negative on there, is that just that particular forum or are all Swindon fans feeling this negative right now?

Seen quite a few people predicting us to win, very surprising considering we're in the worst team in the FL and Swindon are four points off the play-offs.

I’d like to reply but recent games put me into a stupor - from which, I’m glad not to recover to witness any more shite.

Done this a few times recently tbh, seems to work fairly well.

I hear you’re bringing down 700+ today? That’s great support

Yeah I’m not against it, going to be difficult today I imagine no idea what to expect other than that though. No idea on numbers but that be a great effort, weirdly enough I spotted on twitter a few gas slagging us off for not selling out our allocation

We weren’t but have made a couple of defensive signings which seem to have improved that, Hall has come in and been excellent.

We actually now even look threatening and sometimes score from our own now we have Hussey!

We had a couple of mares against Sutton and Oldham where we threw away three points with crazy defensive lapses late on from set pieces but hopefully past that now!

The goal we conceded on the opening day was a good example of the issues we had!

Should be a good game, we’ve finally looked back to our best the last two games and looks as though your picking up again.

Big big game.

Team news as expected. well again Aaron Martin comes in for his aerial presence so same XI as v FGR.

Huge news for us though is the return of Jamie Proctor who makes the bench. Massive that after 4 months out (he was still top scorer up until midweek!)

Get him and Willo back on song together it could be huge for us into the run in.

Clough has rested George Maris which I’m very surprised about, Matty Longstaff making his debut. McLaughlin is out which is a huge, huge loss.

Not sure on how we will set up with that line-up, Bowery at LWB maybe which is a brave move despite him doing well against Doncaster in that position it’s still risky when he’s a striker.

Matt Jay dropped. Not surprised as he has looked tired of late.
Attacking options on the bench, I predict a late goal or two from us...
