Think we looked the more likely to win it as the game went on but overall I’m really pleased with today. Looked like we belonged in L1 there. Funso did a great job in midfield as did Walker when he came on and Mal was excellent at LWB.

Am sure Bolton fans wouldn’t have been pleased with a point before the game but how it went am sure they’ll be ok with it. Very good team themselves and have to say that lad Trafford in goal for them is a real find. Good luck to Bolton.
I think we actually had a goal over the line mate but ref and linesmen didn't give. Hope they show it in ITV and it looked a yard over...but yes, happy with a draw in the end, and you'll be okay this season. Was watching it on iplayer

Gassy, I don’t know if you were at the game or watching? Happily, that never happened. It may have looked like that at the ground, however you might want to retract that comment if you watch it (rose tinted spectacles aside too!). In reality it was incredibly poor from John Marquis. His continued dramatics across the game and subsequent poor attempts at trying to make ‘contact’ seem convincing/as if something had happened. During the entirety of the game, nothing happened. Much more worryingly, he got away with it and the home support lapped it up. All supporters do, I accept that. It’s the unpleasant side of football and it’s just not a great look.

In summary that was an utterly bland game of football between two incapable sides with little to no quality between the pair of them. My word, that was dull. From an OUFC point of view we look completely blunted as an attacking force right now. We lack pace and real quality in the offensive third. Our fullbacks are weak and we suffer as a consequence. We’ve known about the problems for some time and haven’t addressed them in two-three seasons(?).

The free kick that led to the goal wasn’t a free kick. I’m not entirely sure why it was given, however we defended it less than adequately.

The gamesmanship from Marquis was cringeworthy, as it was from Finlay (I think?). It wasn’t well executed. Some players do it well, however it was so badly timed, managed and generally not convincing it just looked… Bad. Following a couple of Bristol Rovers cringeworthy efforts to top the next, our own Marcus Browne (as much as he is a brilliant footballer at this level) then gave it a bash himself which was equally hideous. It was so blatantly obvious that nobody else from either Rovers of OUFC reacted. Not a good look and completely over the top.

That game could still be going on now and barring a refereeing blunder or a horrible mistake from either side, we’d still be looking for another goal.

0-0 would have been a fair result. Given what we have at our disposal, it’s not panic stations quite yet but we do need to improve and significantly.
I’ve watched it a few times, Marquis is up to antics but the fact is Moore is on top of him and pushes his face to the ground - that’s a red all day long. What in your opinion justifies it being a yellow but not a red? Then there was the stamp..

Agree 0-0 would have been fair, but as I said in another post - we’re 6/7 players away still atm so I’m delighted with the fight and performance the team put in. Considering your team, especially in attack, I’m genuinely shocked how little you actually did in the game. Doesn’t seem to be one of those 1 signing things will fix it either, this is on Robinson IMO.

Ten men for most of the game, felt like we were playing 12 men today. So a very good point in that heat on that pitch. Unbeaten we move on. We had 10 men and the Vale keeper got man of the match ?

Decent game. I thought we probably should have won it with the extra man but for an inspired couple of saves from the Bolton keeper.

Bolton looked handy at times but I was never really concerned. They should look handy with a budget far exceeding ours.

All in all I would have taken a point before the game so I can't grumble. We just didn't quite do enough and were a bit sloppy at times.

More than happy with a point at Lincoln...even if we did have to score their goal...perhaps we aren't quite as bad as many might have feared.

I guess we can all console ourselves that we aren't Sunderland fans, coasting towards a home win, concede a late consolation to QPR...followed by an equaliser scored by their keeper!

A very entertaining game in 35 degrees heat so fair play to both teams.

We were awful first half but should have scored a couple. Exeter are good going forward but you can get at them.

I thought we shaded it over the 90 mins and on another day we could have scored 4 or 5. I think Exeter will be fine this season.

What a win for us that is!!!

We finally beat Wycombe away and it’s our first 3 points on the board. Hopefully this is the kick start we needed.

Onto Derby County on Tuesday evening.

Will have to see it back. Your players did seem quite adamant but always difficult unless you have all the angles available. I’m guessing Evatt’s post match interview may end up being PPV worthy.

Think both sets of players can take a lot of pride in being able put on that game in that heat though. I don’t envy any of them at all. Talking ifs and buts here but if we had Wilson maybe we win but will take the point happily.

Quite happy with the point after playing that long with 10 men. There’s a picture going around that one of our shots from a corner in the first half was over the line and should have counted. Think that was the one where santos was given a final warning as he was arguing it was over the line.

Either way vale could have won it towards the end but for an incredible save from Trafford. Although their gk made 2/3 quality saves himself. Onto the next one. 1 or 2 more signings and I think Vale will be fine this season.

Unbeaten start for us. Haven’t conceded from open play yet in the league - only conceded 1 and that was from a corner. Our issues first half of last season and in league 2 were mainly that we weren’t solid but I really feel we’ve turned a corner with that now. We are much more difficult to break down. Before today we had scored the most goals in the whole EFL in 2022 so that wasn’t the problem. On to the next one.

Good win against Peterborough, 2-0. We were excellent and they were surprisingly poor, especially going forwards. 4 subs at half time for them summed up their performance.

Good to bounce back after the late defeat to Fleetwood, hopefully we can get something in the capital on Tuesday

Charlton were brilliant in that first half and really deserved to be at least a goal up. They’ll feel hard done by after that.

We made a triple sub after an hour and looked better for it.

Moore clearly wants us to play out from the back and has brought in 2 centre backs that are in comfortable with it. Frustrating.

Gutting to concede so late on. Hopefully we can bounce back on home turf in the next couple of games

I think there was an expectation from Bolton fans that they should be awarded a free kick every time a player went down. I don't think he did much wrong.

The penalty call second half was a joke. A few of your players lost their heads at times as well as the manager. I think that there's an expectation with bigger clubs that they should have all the decisions. It doesn't work like that.

Strange game at Sincil Bank today.

Felt Forest Green were a tidy team but were so lightweight up front. We had the best of the first 3/4 of the game. The subs for FGR changed the flow. Whilst they did score our goal, we were well worthy of the lead after especially dominant end of first half/ start of 2nd half with some great set pieces and saves by their goalie.

Garrick did well as he came on, hes clearly a fighter and has pace to burn. Eyoma struggled as the game went on and Wickham too strong as he held off the challenge to smash in the equaliser.

A good test in difficult conditions. Felt partially relieved as FT whistle went as FGR were getting better, but also frustrated we didnt hold out for the win. We had many chances today. Not sure why but was expecting a few more FGR than the 158 that came.

Frustrating afternoon at Sincil Bank, should have been three points but had to settle for one.

Credit to both sets of players for keeping going and making a half decent game of it despite the heat.

Not much in it in the first half, we probably shaded it and had two great chances in the final five minutes of the first half and we've got to take one of them. Deservedly took the lead midway through the second half but then stepped off slightly and it's an awful goal defensively for us, which starting with our LB deciding to try a shot from 35/40 yards. Good finish from Wickham, mind, you pinned one of our CB's.

FGR very tidy in possession, as you'd probably expect from a 3-5-2/3-4-3 side with numerical supremacy in most areas of the pitch but pretty toothless in attack. For all their sideways passing and nice switches they seemed afraid to take risks in possession in the final third and played safe all the time. I think on one occasion they were near our 18 yard box, the ball got set back for a cross and he turned out, and three passes later it was back at their 'keeper. Not sure where they're going to score their goals from, they need more output for areas they work themselves into.

As for us, didn't really tell us anything we didn't already know. Still need a bit more in the final third (Garrick had a promising debut and gave us some pace in wide areas) and another body in CM. But you can see what we're trying to do under Kennedy, which is always a good sign. There's some structure to us and whether we can bring in two or three to help the group we'll see.

A decent game today given the temperature. I thought that both keepers played well and Im very happy with our new signing between the sticks. The referee was pretty bad though and had both sets of fans giving him abuse. Bolton look a decent side and should threaten the top 6, and I think we will be ok with another striker in before the window closes. Its great to see the ground fuller with 3k coming from Bolton instead of 120 from Stevenage or Crawley.

Onto MK on tuesday.

As I say, had terrible view of game today on a poor stream so won't comment on that, but early stats actually had us top of a dangerous chances created table after two games! Maybe swapping Matt out for March today meant lacked his hold-up play, or maybe we came for the point.

Maybe Oxford loaned the wrong keeper because the one who played today was pretty poor.

Regards new signings I really like the look of Massey. When he came on he was really asking them questions with his directness. Once he gets matchfit I can see him a big problem for opponents.

DC did a great job with his changes as well. Taking off Forrester he was on a yellow etc. Got all the calls right.

Interesting that it was Ross Joyce who sent off Santos, he was the one who red carded him at Morecambe, that got rescinded though.

The bloke needs demoting.....shocking ref
Dont think he seen the first booking....only the player on the floor.

Missing the ball a full two foot over the line is piss poor by both him and the linesman
Santos had every right to question him as he is the captain
The sending off he got mugged.

Point was a fair result after that and we keep our unbeaten start

No expectation regarding every tackle, but when a player dives and gets someone sent off, when the ball is a yard over the line, when the same ref sends off the same player incorrectly twice, just maybe we have cause to complain. But a good point for both sides in the end.

Santos is an odd one, i see all the praise and stuff but whenever he plays us he must send his carthorse twin! He’s got the turning circle of a combine harvester and we set up today to let him have the ball and press the wider centre halves knowing he wasn’t comfortable with it to feet.

One of those qwerks I guess!

As said they are a good side and would have taken a point before but feels two dropped in the circumstances.

That said although it was attack v defence much of the half Bolton were dangerous from set pieces and we had to throw a body on the line when we got caught napping and they got in behind.

Their keeper is class. That save from the corner was top drawer.

Overall though we looked much fitter and with Wilson and Worrall to come back it feels more positive than it did a week ago.

Both new signings look decent enough, keeper was steady, made a great save early on and a decent tip over and seemed assured. Harrison was a pest and caused them problems.

Bolton should be up there come May so it’s a bonus point I guess, but should have had a couple second half with better finishing and decisions.

Decent atmosphere too and didn’t see any trouble which was good to see.

A good Derby game and probably a draw was a fair result. Fleetwood plenty of possession for half an hour, then Shrimpers score and we are very much on back foot. Indeed we could easily have gone in 2 down. Second half dominant team and deserved equaliser. Great promise from Promise ! Looks a quality player who will do well for us
Morecambe get terrific home support and hope we can both be playing each other next season

As good a Town performance as I can remember. Utterly dominant throughout and should really have been more than 3.

Well that was a robbery, sorry Bobbin' .

No need to apologise, as I predicted, we were very good in possession but hopeless when it comes to the cutting edge.

We were so dominant away from which I’ll take a positive from but you only needed 15 mins and scored, that’s the difference between a team that’ll be up there and a team that won’t.
