A warm welcome today extended to travelling Bolton fans....You are not welcome in any pubs in the local area please Drink 10 miles away from the stadium
Sold over 3k for this....Best thing i have done since covid knocking away games on the head.
£3 a pint in my local and the game shown live

Enjoy your day !!
Bit of an odd one by the police, obviously the ugly scenes last time will have played a part but surely just leaves Bolton fans roaming the streets. Usually we’d offer the club house but obviously now with 2-3000 more home fans than we used to get we have limited options on that now.

Next season it’ll possibly be worse as the away end from January won’t have booze (unless they find a solution as bar is in view of pitch) and you’ll be parked and filtered further out of town behind the training ground.

Unfortunately for away fans this is partly a product of our home support increasing. Also happened for the Swindon game last season and also when Bristol Rovers came to town. That 10 mile rule is just for coach stops on the way to the ground I believe and is actually pretty standard.

Bolton fans will be able to drink perfectly fine in the city centre or Newcastle-Under-Lyme so there’ll be places to go just not in pubs near the stadium. Am sure with the exception of The Crown they’ll maybe let the odd away fan in. Basically all they have to do is be respectful or at least not act like a dick and am sure they’ll be fine.

Bit apprehensive today, obviously still gelling and not the ideal time to play these.

Oddly despite upsetting Bolton fans for some reason DC is spot on they are a big club with a big budget so it’s the first test of us against a club like that which we will need to get used to after being one of the bigger clubs in L2.

Should be a decent atmosphere though and with 11-12k and we’ve got to stick with the boys as it is likely to be a tough afternoon.

Bit of a free hit this one.
No matter what an opposition manager says … positive or negative someone will always take offence haha. Really looking forward to it. Need to be winning games like this against newly promoted sides if we want to be competing for top6 but a point on the road is rarely a bad result. Wish you’d waited a few extra days before bringing in those reinforcements!

Dont think anyone from vale have upset us including your manager. Not had a big budget that is just a smokescreen. Only Iredale on a free and Bradley [loan] have been added since last season

Police may have upset one or two with coming out with the the 10 mile drinking zone, but i think you will hear can i have 5 pints of lager duck said in a Bolton accent in the centre of Stoke around now

Also just to note that 10 mile zone is a red herring anyway as you go anywhere north of Burslem you’re virtually in Cheshire which is covered by a different plod.

Like you i would take a point on the road but even with them signing a couple of players i think we are playing them at the right time.
The heat will have a say on todays games and you may see some high scoring games.
Not convinced Vale are quite up to speed

I think what happened there was some Bolton Twitter account had taken a quote and a few interpreted it a different way than was actually meant. A few since saw the video of the comments and realise it wasn’t quite how it was presented and was actually being respectful of Bolton.

DC and Evatt seem similar personalities to be honest, both tend to shoot from the hip a bit. I remember a couple of comments from Evatt on Politic last season and thinking that’s not normally how you’d speak about one of your players. I quite like it though as a change from those who just speak in cliches.

To be fair if your not a colossal knob then you should be welcome to mingle and have a pint in Burslem.

I miss Dennis… get him back he’s only played 13 minutes in Italy!

Yep, if I was to pinpoint exactly the one thing we probably do lack right now it’s that sort of game changing attacking option off the bench. If the mood takes him he’s a proven match winner. That move to Italy whilst I understood the thinking the risk was getting a bit lost in the shuffle out there, can’t be doing him any good not even making the bench now.

Oxford are a horrible team and this ref is pathetic. Marquis stamped on by the Oxford player and he only gets a talking to.

3 mins later Moore is on top of Marquis whilst he’s on the floor and hits him in the face - ref gives yellow card. Never seen anything by like it

You’re talking nonsense mate, Rovers are using every trick in the book. Nothing in anything other than Marquis play acting.

Tough game so far, need to get going up front. Taylor anonymous. We started well but allowed Rovers to take the lead from nothing and they dominated the rest of the half.

Harsh this, two Bolton lads in fan zone no issues went to get a beer and refused. Seems a little over the top.

Probably related to Masi, understandable if not acceptable.

Both signings debut so two strikers start, Forrester in Cass at RWB looks an injury to Robinson which is a shame. Captain TC returns to a league starting XI for the first time in 8 months which is a massive boost.

No problem at all with that but sure as eggs are eggs it will be replicated in the return fixture

Probably and couldn’t complain if it was, although our fun bus away trips always do book a pub stop well outside en route!

Think they’ve been accepted into a pub in Biddulph though to be fair..

Got a decent starting 11 as stated but a few have little mins in there legs, may be a tough last 30, but at least you can start to see light at the end of the tunnel

Not a lot of boozers near our ground anyway.........Bolton town centre cheap as chips but like most town centres is a shithole.

I’d have probably sat Garrity for this. Ball retention is going to be the biggest thing today so if Walker or Pett were good to go I’d have wanted them in place of them. Going to be a slow game this you’d expect.

Rovers have managed the game very well and we’ve been toothless. Not too impressed by Rovers from a football perspective but I do think they’ll shithouse a few points this season. Another Wycombe!!

Not but we’ve got options on the bench for the last 30 so hoping that allows us to last the pace.

We'll take those 3 points but neither side played particularly well. Clearly need more bodies in the building but total confidence in Joey to get some quality.
Always good to see Twatty Matty kept quiet.

2 even teams I thought, but we looked more of a gelled team than Oxford and that was the only real difference in the end.

Lots of work to do in the transfer window still but if we can pick up 3 points against Oxford with a team missing 6/7 players then I think it bodes well for a solid season.

Barnsley and Pompey away next, 2 tough games
