Wish our groundsman hadn’t bust a gut to get that one on now. We were poor.

Back-to-back clean sheets against Newport and Cambridge. Excellent.

I could be easily wrong but I think Barrow are in such trouble. Jolley is a very poor manager and they have so much deadwood in that squad, if Southend can turn these draws into wins they could easily stay up.

That was worse than Tuesday in its own way. Terrible, fixture list gets tougher from here, need Boateng back ASAP.

Not always easy playing teams at the bottom, who are fighting for their lives. Didn’t sound like Cambridge played well. I’d say it’s a point gained rather than 2 lost for them.
Great week for Southend.

your a funny man

You lot were down in 17th place before today. You were on 32 points, or in other words only 9 points better off Barrow and had played a game more as well.

Do I think you're going down to the connie? Not at all , but the fact is 17th is closer to the relegation spots than the play offs. So yes, you were in trouble before today. What's so funny about that?

view on todays game...Started like a house on fire got the goal then could have gone 2 up straight away with a doyle header. That was it, we huffed and puffed let Stevenage into the game. Our midfield was weak and lines controlled the game.
Sending off was a complete joke [again]
A better team would have beaten us late on, but i thought Stevenage were better than Morecambe although toothless upfront. John had a great debut at left back Ayofayen showed some quality touches. Maddison was awful and not match up to speed.
MJ Williams is just a clone of Comley dont understand why we signed him. Looked steadier with ten men with tutte on then we ever did with Williams on.
Battered Crawley a few weeks back and got nothing. Today we did not deserve more than a draw at best and got three points.

That is the reason we’ll still be this lge next season, too many times when we just don’t show up.

deserved point for Southend but I’m really disappointed in how we played, tough set fixtures coming up, need to stay in the mix if we can.

Seems Southend are as profligate in front of goal as us, 13 shots with 0 on target.

I will let you view it, but you will wonder which one has been sent off and which one went unpunished

it will be the 3rd red card over ruled in as many weeks........
Thought you were lucky to get the Maddison red for a reckless lunge overturned, but this one was a nothing challenge and can't see why it was given as a straight red.

Frustrating game. We've only ever seemed to play well in 15-20 min spells this season and today was no different. But a win's a win :bg:

Up to the heady heights of 13th...for a few hours at least. I'll enjoy it while it lasts, as I don't think we'll be getting much higher between now and the end of the season.

Stevenage aren't a bad side, just a bit blunt up front. I think they'll have enough to stay up. Not looking great for Barrow atm with Southend picking up unexpected points.

The Maddison one was a good hard old fashioned commited tackle by both players.....if one went the other had too, Madison always had a foot on the ground....a talking to and a booking a piece was about right

Today Williams went over the coming in Stevenage player who lunged at him two footed
The Stevenage player should of walked, i dont blame Williams for protecting himself.

I know what are Barrow doing appointing more useless imbeciles as their manager? They should sack this loser and get Keith Curle the rescue man in.

But then again Barrow are the most tinpot club in the football league with the shittest ground so it would be a good thing for them to go back to their level of Conference North.

I've no confidence at all at the moment that we'd even pick any points up from our games in hand.

We're enjoying it while we can don't you worry, League football is not something I ever thought I'd see.

Plus it is a real privilege to be shown on the same list of fixtures as this historic Carlisle United side.

From the camera angle it looks a 50/50 challenge. Ref was well positioned, perhaps he’s seen something we’ve not. Brian Kettle has now sent off 5 Bolton players in his last 6 games involving them.
