East Midlands argy bargy, Wrexham protesting too much as to why they're not pissing the division yet despite the financial might, Gillingham fans gone AWOL.

Over here, barely got out of 2nd gear, the ref genuinely gave Harrogate a pathetic sympathy penalty. Just observing, relaxed, injured players coming back. Alpha males. Top of the league.

And then I discover it's Grimsby next week. Paul Hurst has waited months for this like he does every season. Barely lifted a leg all season, let's see how relaxed I am next week when they're running around like blue arsed flies.

You know you’re a good side, i saw that when we played you (this isn’t a go) but that’s what filled me with confidence how well we played when you took the lead twice at mansfield earlier in the season.

Depth is the key, and it something that clough has ensured we’ve got this season, it’s that which makes the difference.

To be unbeaten in 17 games so far this season is absolutely ludicrous tbh.

The gobsmacking result of the day was FGR's 5-0 win v Colchester.
Six successive lost matches and then they secure their best result in the EFL.

14 home league games unbeaten for us now. Big test for that streak a week on Tuesday though when Stockport come to town, has the makings of a cracking game.

Stockport are so obviously winning the league. It's who goes up with them that's harder to predict. Anyone else in the current top 7 could join them, and I could see Bradford improving if they don't hire another dinosaur to manage them.

Just as was the case two seasons ago we are a season behind you in our development from non league no hopers. We just can't compete with money bags Stockport.

Depends if Challinor gets itchy feet again. The man will be off like a shot if someone offers him a pound more than he's on now.

It is great knowing that even finishing a distant third gets you up from this league. The pressure to win is nothing compared to last season.

Notts were dicks last season, any other season and we're clear by some way. How dare they.

We've won 7 on the spin but we were in the spotlight after 6 W 1 D 2 L 3, DC was off to Charlton, 2 or 3 new injuries every week. Things can change very quickly in football.

My honest opinion is we generally look a better team than last season when we finished 4th so logic says I should be confident of top three but I do think the division is stronger. Wrexham and Notts stuff is just banter, I've said since day one you'll both be up there, both had a couple of gubbings but I've not changed my mind. Two teams have come up who will be up there and it's made the division harder.

And I've always rated Mansfield ever since I layed eyes on them last season so they're not surprising me.

Challinor who has turned down two approaches since he’s been here and spent eight years at one club as a player and eight years at one club as a manager before being sacked not resigning.

Yeah real loyalty issues.

The Wrexham fans are on the fish but Challinor's decision to move from L2 Hartlepool to NL Stockport for more money, closer to home, better future prospects, ambition, managing in front of bigger crowds etc still looks a complete masterstroke less than 2 years on.

The two clubs have gone in complete different directions the day he made that call. Not all down to him. As said, behind the scenes here is much more promising than Hartlepool at that moment and certainly at this moment. But he's a good manager and pretty smart I think. If he leaves us, it'll be for a proper gig. As WNM says, he's already turned down approaches from Barnsley this summer and Charlton in August.

Yeah pull the other one.
Sorry yes I forget that the likes of Powell and Madden are there for £200 p/w because of their love of the game.

Everyone knows you're loaded, just enjoy and embrace it.

Nobody is crowned champions in October

We're top on 26 points. This time last season Orient were on 31 and Stevenage on 29, the whole table is a lot tighter overall - just 9 points from 3rd to 20th! We'll stumble at some point and others will put runs together.

My money's still on Gills to make it, got a very good squad and just need the right manager.

I think it’s safe to say that after todays sensational performance, it looks almost certain that we are going up as champions. Everyone else is fighting for second.

Callum Morton is the best striker in the league.

If gillingham and wrexham don’t go up with their ridiculous budgets their seasons will be abject failures

Of course we’re loaded and have a huge budget but I’d be very surprised if you’re not spending more.

At the time we looked desperate for a striker and DC used to manage Armstrong but we weren’t prepared to go anywhere near what Harrogate wanted.

By all accounts you offered Powell much more than we did weekly but we stupidly gave him three years. He’s by far our biggest earner and he’s been a disaster so far.

My takes on our game. 1st half we were awful, Salford not much better but a good corner routine and us switching off didn't help. Hayden tried to go in with his foot when the lad who scored went in with the diving header. 2nd goal was just awful. We had a 19 year old making his debut out of position, Hayden tried to cover and dived in, they had a free run and got the rub of the green again.

We bag a goal from a corner from the smallest man on the pitch with a perfect header back across goal. Go in at half time a goal down, but both sides absolutely piss poor.

2nd half, on the attack time and time again, so when they had a rare moment in the 2nd half getting to the byline, pulling the ball back to a lad 8 yards out, somehow didn't manage to hit the target. We then make a couple of subs, Davies and Fletcher, who imo changed the game. We eventually get through their back line and 2 wonderful saves from their keeper makes you think it ain't your day. We cut through them again and luckily it went in to get a draw.

I said to the missus that we had plenty of time as I knew there was going to be a winner somewhere, and some 18 seconds from the restart, we bagged our 3rd which was duly deserved from the 2nd half performance as a whole.

Salford then panicked and actually went at us, got a good header but well saved by Arthur.

All in all, defensively naive which costs us 2 poor goals, but a good win to stick at the top end.

We've just come up from non-league, I'd say anything below play-offs is a failure but the gap between this league and the one below is massive.

Personally, I believe we'll go up automatically but I wouldn't say it's the outright expectation here. We just expect, as fans, to give it a good go

To add to my point before, it's just nice to be playing against proper clubs week in week out (this weekend and the weekend before aside). It's far more fun now than it was in non-league. Nothing worse than going to an away match and the locals in the pub asking you if there's a match on.

For us, it's been far too long.

Comfortable win for Crewe against a Rovers team who ended up with 9 men. Until we change how we line up away aren’t going to get anything out of games like today. Total silence from Mark Palios about the management situation too.

Crewe outfield looked a pretty decent outfit, though they gave us a few chances. Do understand where some of their fans are coming from regarding the keeper though, weak link for me.
Crewe seemed to sit off us for long periods of the game instead of going for the kill, which was confusing especially when up against an abysmal Tranmere side serving up one of our worst first half performances of the season (and that's saying something). Second half we did at least carve out a few chances but Saunders managed to miss from two yards not once but twice (one flagged offside to spare his blushes, but neither worthy of an eight year old, let alone a professional footballer). Both red cards were daft and the only Rovers players who can walk away from that with any degree of pride in their performance were Jennings (who had a shocker first half but had a great second half) and Apter when he came on.

Crewe were unspectacular and that's all they needed to be, they were years better than us. Can't see us getting a single point away if we continue to be this open, this inept at defending and can't pass a football five yards in the middle of the pitch without putting it out for a throw every third pass.
