Will be watching on from edinburgh, it’s county’s big game of the season, be interesting to see how they play under pressure.

Given the extensive injury list we’ve got and how we’ve played of late, it’s understandable that county are clear favourites here.
That jj O'Neil and oakes were injured half last season or dropped every other match, poor recruitment, poor excuse.

Didn’t realise Nottingham was ‘south of Birmingham’, Adam

Had my first proper look at Notts County entire squad earlier on, you do feel like those winter months may not be kind if they pick up a small amount of injuries. Need to spend in January to bolster depth.

I think they will be fine tomorrow though, I’m not feeling particularly confident if I’m being honest. Take another point.
We're already carrying a couple of players out for most of the season. Cedwyn Scott scored 14 for us last season and is being missed. We've a small squad and I've always thought it's about staying in contention until the transfer window and strengthening with a couple of first team ready players rather than squad players for some time in the future.
We've made a great start to the season, way better than I could have hoped for and looking at the table the favourites are all in the top ten so we're overachieving to be above Stockport, Gills, Stags, Swindon and everyone else.
Win or lose today, it's still been a great first quarter for us.

Looking forward to watching a bit of this.

Having watched Wrexham Disney, I’m expecting spectacular levels of talent and elite quality from this Notts County team.

I just don’t see how we function at all with this team. It’s an interesting insight into our depth though, a couple of key injuries and we suddenly look so much weaker. Assume Chicksen is injured too which compounds things.

Nothing on the bench either, Morias and a 17 year old are the only attacking options and I can’t see either actually coming on

Could be a good League Two game this. Always impressed with Mansfield, they were the best I saw play us last season when we went there and have been the best again so far this season (we've not played Notts yet). Keilor Dunn looked a great player against us the other week.

But from what I've seen of Notts they're very well coached, condense and dominate a game almost Man City like and have some quality players who can win matches.

I'll go for a narrow Notts win.

Langstaff trying to block his teammates goal there, not a team player

Notts fans stood up at home, what is this parallel universe we are living in? Must all be eagerly expecting a delivery of prawn sandwiches.

I was on the football forum way back in 2006 (albeit under a different username), and love to be a wind up merchant, especially from our new found rivals Nottingham Clownty.
What was your username back then?
There’s a fair few, rotherham and crewe probably another few. Maybe could start to the billy no mates brotherhood?
Plenty of them about yep. Add Lincoln onto the saddo pile as well.
Didn't Grimsby fans get food poisoning from that Spoons last season? Cos the Spoons was shut for health and safety reasons when we played them a few days later...
Correct.

Thats it, Cardiff fans were always just massive wankers, whereas the Jack's were always OK. There may be a sense of superiority with Cardiff being the capital. If I remember rightly the issues were all coming from Cardiff themselves rather than the other clubs.

As a resident of Wales, albeit biased as I live just outside of Swansea, Cardiff fans do seem very arrogant. I don’t think that the supposed media bias helps.

I follow a few Welsh Football accounts on Twitter etc, and Cardiff fans seem to think they’re the most Welsh club to ever Welsh. There also seems to be a large sense of delusion about how big a club they actually are, and how widespread their support base is.

The rivalry between Swansea and Cardiff probably deserves a place in the tinpot thread. Even with the bubble trip.

Swansea fans are alright for the most part, as are Wrexham fans (well at least pre-takeover).

Notts County need to sort that back line out if they want to do anything this season. Only so long you can rely on your attacking options bailing out your stupid high line and high risk defence out.

Brindley needs to snuff that out surely for the Stags equaliser?

Slocombe got away with one just before that too.

Been a decent match so far.

that goal we conceded was criminal, so soft. Surely first rule for this game was to stay solid for first 15.

Feel like we been better side in first half without creating much.

Mansfield showing exactly how to play against Notts, pressing high and organised when the County back line inevitably loses the ball on occasion.

Question for the 2nd half is if they can maintain that high press. If they start to fade, then you feel County will find gaps to exploit.

Someone needs to check our armband, usually it's Cameron falling over in dangerous areas.

Definitely more goals in this. I respect the decision to give Slocombe a go after a good performance in midweek but those long balls have been nowhere near McGoldrick and it means it's harder to punish Mansfield pressing so much.

Mansfield marginally better side so far for me. Nice finish by Reed, always been a good little player him. He managed to look decent in a dog shit side when he was here

Notts obviously are a good team and are struggling against another good team. But as a first time obersever of them this season, they look slow, lacking in ideas, no pace, no injection of youth, no depth. If you hadn't seen them before, you'd be wondering how they were top.

Notts just seem to keep trying to play it around at the back a little, get nowhere due to being pressed by Mansfield and Slocombe just boots it long and Mansfield get th eball back. All very comfortable

Mansfield very impressive. Been much the better team ever since the Notts goal in the 3rd minute.
