Briscoe loved a screamer, he scored a worldie against Barrow back in the days we used to put 7/8 past them at the Mill.
These days you just hand us the 3 points when we visit.

I’ve been drinking tonight, but suddenly I have this hint of confidence ahead of tomorrow, I’m visualising us winning. No doubt I’ll have a sense of reality tomorrow when I wake up.
It's the hope that gets you

Carlisle won’t go up automatically simply
Because we do not have Mansfield away in our final run……that is our lucky charm.

1994/5 title all but won with away 2-1 win at Mansfield.

1996/7 won promotion with a draw there

2006/7 won promotion with win at Mansfield.

Just one of them grounds.

As for game I think Carlisle start with wing backs they will 100% lose.

They try something else 4-4-2, 4-3-3 or something else…….it’s a gamble but a chance.

Cannot keep sticking with what doesn’t deliver vs the top sides against the top sides and expect it will work.

Stockport County.
I'm similar to Hellogregory's mindset for Carlisle but on us.

I can't work out who in the top 8 misses out on the play-offs.

And just like they say if you can't work out the knobhead in the group, it's usually you. Therefore I'm still of the mindset we'll just miss out on the play offs as I predicted before a ball was kicked.

Those two late Salford goals at Wimbledon last Monday were a kick in the guts whilst fans around me were talking of Carlisle dropping points at Walsall which meant we went third (in all but name really- Stevenage and Bradford games in hand).

Not sure what we're going to get at Gillingham today and then Carlisle Tuesday, two tough trips. I'm then hoping final three Rochdale will be doomed and know it, Orient will be home and hosed and Hartlepool will have sealed their fate either way (hope they stay up tbh).

We've scabbed 3 or 4 1-0 away wins on the spin, just can't see it continuing today and Tuesday. Although could argue we could have got more points at home recently where we've drawn but been the better side so it's evened itself out.

Completely agree. We have nothing to lose, we might as well try something different to at least try to win these games.
Worst that can happen is it doesn’t work and we still lose.

Problem is he did try this away at Gillingham and it failed miserably.

But they need to realise we always play turgid at Gillingham we could have Guardiola’s Barcelona team for a match and still struggle to get a shot there.

More offensive at home vs a side like ourselves under pressure and get crowd riled up early…….just tell the em nothing to lose, we have achieve our goal just go for it.

Shove Gibson and Patrick out wide, Dennis and Edmondson centre.

It was still a back 5 with wing backs at Gillingham. Only difference was it was a front 3 which left us one short in midfield.

Some games are just destined to be a 2-2 and Grimsby v Mansfield today is one of them, they have the better team despite how well we played at their place but they also never beat us here with the exception of that 96th minute winner here the other year when they had 10 men.
So 2-2 nailed on, get your mortgages and life savings on it guys, and you can all thank me later.

I expect every single one of the top 9 apart from us to win today, so a defeat will look really damaging for us in terms of top 7.

But I’ll still look back at Walsall and Gillingham as where the damage was done.

2005/06 wasn't it?

I’m old now counting isn’t easy.

I have to just remember what year jimmy glass whacks the ball in the net 1999 and count forward how many more crappy seasons we had…..wilko dross, atkins, Collins 1, Collins 2, relegated, non league…..yep your right 2006.

McWilliams is back in the squad which is a huge boost although i imagine he can only play for 30 mins or so after a while out. Sadly Lintott is now out so all 6 players that can play RB or RCB are out. Carlisle have a huge opportunity to get at 2 of our CB's today.

Carlisle gone with wing backs.

It sortve reminds me of the sketch from Blackadded when Melchior is explaining how doing the exact same thing this time that hasn’t worked the last 10 times is exactly the surprise the opposition will get because it was never expected.

Rovers unchanged with only 6 on the bench again and the new normal of no sub keeper. Reckon there for the taking if Crawley really want this.

Gills fans. Watch Tranmere's only (hopefully) goal today and answer the question. Would you swap Glenn Morris for our current keeper?
