Very passive second half from us. Exeter improved but we never really looked like conceding. Should have been out of sight in the first half

Pretty much against the run of play, but yeah. 1-0 to us at half time, but I'm pretty sure it won't end that way.

well who knew? We *can* play pure grindball after all, we were shit at defending a slim lead earlier this season but we put in a very credible show of negativity, bodies on the line and 10 men behind the ball - and it worked, pleased with that.

I think that's probably the first genuinely decent side we've got a result against this season - which typically means we'll be shit next week, but hey ho, for now we have to be pleased with that.

Unbelievably poor first half from us... saved by one of the best keepers in L1. Good turnaround in the 2nd half and Marquis on fire at the moment that's 4 goals in the last 2 games (well one and a half really). Gas up to 9th.

We decided today wasn't worth our efforts to secure three points.

Our opponents Sheffield Wednesday should suffer a fine and point deduction for their willingness to let us outplay them today. We are hideous and incapable of outplaying anyone.

We should also suffer the same fate for missing an open goal followed by a penalty-miss in the 96th minute.

There’s a lot of pissed off people on our forum. Word is our club has been pestering yours all week about the pitch to avoid travelling up for no reason only to be told “it’s fine, don’t worry”. Then at the pitch inspection today there’s a big patch in front of the main stand which is rock solid.

This is the second time we’ve had a late calling off in recent seasons in the north west when half our bloody support is already there. I hate to say it but it’s tinpot as fuck.
I don't blame you for being pissed off, this was put out on our forum midday

' Both managers met on the playing surface at 10.30am and both seemed happy with the progression of the pre planned overnight thaw. It was confirmed at the 12pm inspection that most of the pitch was playable but there are small sections of the pitch that would be a danger to both sets of players and officials '

Fucking hell, a draw. Have you been on the sauce early for Christmas? You will stuff us like a Christmas turkey with all the trimmings. :sur:
This follows a trend of fans of other teams vastly overrating us. We are proper shite.

Angry scenes at Fratton. This would probably be the final straw for most chairmen, but Eisner tends to give plenty of chances to his coaches.

Huge gulf in class between Derby & ourselves today, pre match Burchnall said we’d improved recently in that even when we’ve lost games, it’s not been the sort of hammering we were getting earlier in the season. Unfortunately today was a relapse back to getting thumped. Tbh this isn’t the kind of game that’s going to dictate if we stay up or not, so not the end of the world.

I'm speechless. Didn't see that result coming at all.

Think we've improved quite substantially since the start of the season (compared with the Wednesday game, at least), but we were comprehensively outclassed today. Derby really stepped up a gear or two in the second half (the later part of the first half having been surprisingly evenly matched between teams), and we really proved unable to compete against such a skilled, competent and physically superior opposition.

Think I'd got my hopes up seeing that the Rams had recently drawn with Burton, but really this game is not one of those that we were expecting to determine our future. The return of Dokes is.a really positive thing, Stevens on the bench too.

That was also the largest crowd we've ever played in front of.

We go again etc

Ipswich have had more and better chances than us - we've defended well, but there's also been some crap finishing from Ladapo, we can't always assume he'll fluff his lines.

Anyway, we've done better than I expected (esp. with a first choice CB out from illness), but this will not be an easy lead to defend.
Thought we were poor today but still worthy of a point. Fair play to your defenders though who stood up tall second half and won every header bar one (how did edmundson not score that).

Should have been 5 down at half time. Appalling.
Second half better but only because Bolton just spent it seeing the game out.
Absolutely freezing as well, just off to drown my sorrows in Manchester

Try our forum at the moment...which I accept is always a small selection of the supporters of a club...there is a general feeling that we (the supporters) are an irrelevance.

Not one to dig the knife in but Morecambe were there for the taking from minute one. A really poor side who we deserved to beat comfortably but our inability to be ruthless nearly cost us the three points. In the end its a vital 3 points with Ipswich and Wednesday dropping backwards. No way is this league a 2 horse race believe me.

2022 has been a great year for Rovers, no doubt. I can’t help but feel like 2023 will also be good (not as good, of course) but maybe I’m getting ahead of myself.

Don’t think we actually deserved to win today, Charlton battered us first 20/30 mins and could have scored plenty. They gift wrapped us 2 goals and we could have had a few more. Probably a draw was fair over the full 90.

Onto Wycombe, would take a draw there no doubt

Crazy attendances for this level. Last week we were 2nd highest. This week we would have had the 2nd lowest!
Agreed. However, ours was some way short of that on the final whistle :fl::ffs:

No “top of the league with 442” songs? :gr:

But seriously, I know you have a couple of games in hand - but what’s happened?

Absolutely pathetic performance from Pompey yesterday. There were absolutely no excuses for not beating the worst team in the league at home and we started well enough. But then the usual dodgy defending comes and gifts MK a goal in the first half and the second is absolutely comical.

The reaction at the end was extremely toxic and I struggle to believe Cowleys can turn it around. Fans are fed up with his empty platitudes and lack of tactical nous when things go wrong. Some of his signings have been poor to say the least, too.

The owners have to take their share of the blame for failing to invest enough money into the playing staff but they'll skimp in January and Cowleys will be let go without pay off in the summer if this season turns out to be predictable failure.

No home win since September 3rd, one win (a scabby 1-0 against a dire Forest Green side) in eleven league games is nowhere near good enough and the worst thing is this was supposed to be the "easy" run. Our run of games during the next couple of months is a nightmare and we won't be picking up many points.

Rant over.

The thing is, we haven't been playing 4-4-2 recently and our results have been even worse!

What's happened? Key players out with injury coupled with a manager who seems to be out of his depth and no leadership on the pitch to turn things around. The malaise has well and truly set in and fans have had enough.

Excuse me? The worst team in the league. If you look at the table Burton and Morecambe slumming it below us so we are not the worst team in the league anymore. :fing:

You were at the time. Moot point anyway, there can be no excuses for that atrocious performance.

On the ITV Show, did anyone see that horrendous foul throw that the linesman failed to pick up that led to a Bolton chance?

EDIT - That Charlton defender had a stinker as well. Assuming it was the same one and my eyes weren't playing tricks on me, his error for the first definitely spooked him into the mistake for the second goal.

The officials were pretty poor. We had a perfectly good goal chalked off for offside.
We would still have lost, just hope we get decisions going our way in future.
