Have undersoil heating since the mid 70s..........Covers are they not for cricket pitches????
We can't all afford undersoil heating, especially at today's prices

Well it pays for itself will only be used 2/3 times a season....Same with dropping our ticket prices
Will be around 20k on Saturday including a very impressive 850/900 from Exeter
£10 a ticket played in a modern stadium on a great playing surface what more can you ask for

We don't postpone games anyway, our pitch and our covers are good enough for that, so it would be a false economy.

Looking forward to it, driving obviously due to the strike. Do the car parks fill up early?

Be a pitch inspection at 2pm tomorrow for us. I’d say it will be unlikely to go ahead to be honest,

Yeah its going to be off, its not going to get above freezing until 2-3 hours before kick off so if deciding tomorrow I guess its a formality.

Oddly as Darren points out on OVF thats 11 weeks between Charlton Athletic and Wycombe Wanderers visiting Vale Park on a Saturday due to postponements, cup breaks, Xmas fixtures and Sky coverage.

yeah, we're lucky enough to have it (we had to have it put in when we groundshared with a bugry club), but I shudder to think how much it costs to use it now.

Still, I suppose you can balance that cost against the money that we'd lose by shifting a Saturday game to a Tuesday night.

The Accrington Chairman was on twitter talking about it and its thousands a time.

I imagine when we have the pitch replaced we might put the undersoil heating in at same time. Hefty cost mind.

Given the state of that pitch I can't imagine the undersoil heating being much more than a tube of deep heat.

Good crowd expected Saturday plus Christmas shoppers on the complex

Not driven to a game in about 5/6 seasons but i would expect all carparks to be busy for this one
Train strike also closes other options

Fucking hell, a draw. Have you been on the sauce early for Christmas? You will stuff us like a Christmas turkey with all the trimmings. :sur:
I hope you're right. We just about squeaked past you in the cup a few weeks back thanks to a couple of penalties.

We've not won a league game at home since Boris Johnson was PM and the Queen was still performing official duties. Trust me, we're also not very good.

Yeah we’ve not had a home game postponed due to weather for a long time, so long I can’t actually remember it happening. I’m thinking at least 20 years but could be a lot more. Would be a total waste of money for us to have undersoil heating.

We even got a game on a few years ago against Luton when only two in our division were on that day. Our groundsman is a bit of a legend.

Blimey, you lot are lucky...we have had games abandoned due to fog, rain and a power cut...to say nothing of those that didn't even get underway at all!

Yep, no chance of undersoil heating for us, just a case of get the covers on and if needed get volunteers to shovel the snow off and hope for the best. That being said we did use a very fancy bit of equipment to help get our game on last week.

Not sure whether we're still using the same ones or whether we bought more but back in 2015, Lincolnshire Police donated seized cannabis lamps to the Club so we could make our own!

Not 100% certain but I think ours may have come from a similar source...unless Dale tapped up his hippy mates for a loan of theirs outside the cannabis growing season!

temperature forecast to be around 7-8 degrees tomorrow, and I know we have had covers on for a few days.

What’s the bet that managerless Charlton didn’t put the covers on last night?
