Six weeks.
His words in his pre match interview were "maximum of 6 weeks which would see him back before Christmas" so I assume the 6 weeks is from the time of the injury.

I think all being well, he'd be back for Notts County. Only 4 league games before then now, Newport, Salford, Morecambe and Sutton. Salford could be a night we'll need to rally round and put a bit of a makeshift midfield out with Bailey presumably unable to play against his parent team.

Why were Grimsby wearing Barrows kit today?
It's weird, isn't it? Not a Town kit at all. Our third kits are designed by kids now as part of a pre-season competition and this was the one that won this season.

Dark blue is always the colour I will associate as Grimsby's away colours, I remember you having some very nice away kits in the 2010s

About 90% of football kits look like they’ve been designed by kids to be fair.

I mean we’re splitting hairs. Also being back and being back and to full match fitness, ready to start and in top form are two different things.

I agree though fixtures wise the next few weeks don’t look too bad. Still think we’ll drop some points though.

It’s still too early go to making predictions about who’s going where and what’s happening, yes we’ve had a third of the season but lots can happen between now and may.

It seems that other clubs are happy playing the circus act and all the nonsense that comes with it, mansfield fans aren’t interested in all that and it appears clough is a good fit on that front.

It's not splitting hairs. There will be four more league fixtures from Notts and the new year because of the Christmas schedule so you're literally doubling the league fixtures he could potentially miss.

A further update on DC's post match is that Sarcevic has told Jon Keighren that he wants to be back for the cup match in two weeks. Was generally laughed off as being ambitious and DC reiterated he'd be happy to just target the Notts County game. In the modern game, with sports science etc, players have to tick every box. That's why we see so many longer term injuries now where in bygone era's they'd be put back in much quicker. But the reality is he's landed on his shoulder and sprained it, he'll probably barely feel it in day to day life in another week or two hence why he'll be back training sooner rather than later. It's the box ticking of contact sport that will make up the 2 or 3 weeks that keep him out longer.

Basically, if you or I got Sarcevic injury and played Sunday League, we'd be back playing in 3 weeks. And I'm not saying that's a good thing or modern football is too soft etc, increase in player welfare is obviously a good thing.

Yes, I should not waste my time posting on this L2 forum as Carlisle will never be down here again because we are getting new American owners next week and they are going to pump loads of money into modernising our club and we'll be splashing the cash in January to keep us in L1 and then push forward on to better things.

Aaaaand youuuull be down in the Non-league forever being a run down tinpot club.

:fing::wave:

There speaks a man who has witnessed his team choke badly at the business end to the season too many times. So you can't blame such an extremely conservative approach to the season. He shouldn't it's finally Year of the Stag.

Our circus has the dullest most sensible circus owning duo ever who the increasing crowds couldn't be happier with.

Just need the radar to pick up defensive upgrades now in January.

Best time since Pavis to be supporting Notts, perfect ambious owners whom don't crave validating, a wildly entertaining attacking team in front of big vibrant crowds inside a big stadium that's being improved upon year on year and finally the best possible manager in years.

By end of November 40% of the season will be done. If it's too early to tell now that's extremely cautious.

Stockport and Mansfield are the best teams in the division by some way. They will make up 2/3 of the autos. Not convinced that the third spot is sewn up yet and any side could make a play

Relegation still pretty open imo
Speak for yourselves but I'm not buying that Mansfield are better than us by some way. I think we'll finish above them.

Fancy Stockport to win the league (bold, I know), ourselves and Mansfield in comfortable 2nd and 3rd spots with Notts settling in the play-offs.

Having seen pretty much all the top sides, us 3 just have the most quality. We have kinder fixtures coming up in the 2nd half of the season too, having already faced 5 of the other top 7 sides away.

I do tend to agree that Stockport and Mansfield are the more rounded, and best two sides in the division.

Wrexham may go and spend a ton in January which may change things, they are effective no doubt but I just feel Stockport and Mansfield can change things up and mix the style more so than them. Mansfield got some players to come back that we have still missed despite doing well; Quinn managed 20 minutes yesterday and that’s massive news for us.

We have played everyone in the top ten, and beaten most of them.

Don't know about above but they aren't miles better. The games at their place show we've got more than enough to compete. We were missing a load of players yesterday as well, but at the moment our squad is strong enough to get through to January still in contention. We will be spending for sure, why wouldn't we if we're in the mix?

I fancied Stockport preseason for the title (13/2), did the same bet the season they pipped Wrexham to the NL title.

Too early to be confident but definitely in with a great chance. It was after all only a couple of months ago that a Stockport fan was seriously playing down their chances of the title. That person's view and attitude to his side has changed somewhat since thank you WWWWWWWWWW

I agree those look like the most likely Top 3. If we get comfortable playoffs and Wrexham go up that shows just how good the two promoted sides are.

Wrexham will probably be fine going up as they have the finances, but your team will be getting picked apart in January when big L1 clubs like Oxford come to poach your best players again and you'll yield to them no doubt.

We won't get ahead of ourselves, we're going to have a dip again at some point, it's how we respond.

I think all teams will try and bring a couple in Jan, obviously some will be more high end than others. But I think we'll look to make Bailey's deal permanant, a Louie Barry style player (we're unlikely to get the same quality but we don't have another player of that ilk) to cover his absence which will still be until the end of Feb.

Despite the poor wind up attempt this is true - a club with the financial backing of Wrexham won't have to sell players, whereas if someone comes calling for Langstaff or Crowley then I'm sure we'd entertain it for the right money. I don't think promotion is an absolute must for us this season in the way it is for others at the top.

You’re all missing that us and Wrexham are now randomly joined together by some weird twist of fate. We’ll be 3rd and 4th, level on points, with three games left.

Players? Folks we may need a fact check here.

I wonder how much Oxford will offer for that Langstaff fella? Probably more than they offered for the out of contract Rodrigues :ohy:

Does this mean we're about to hit form, ghost into 7th place and beat you both in the playoffs again?

I don’t want Mansfield to do any business, other than maybe loan Gale out and bring another striker in. Very worried about disrupting how we play like we did the other year with Murphy and Langstaff.

Our squad is clearly already very strong, considering we are missing our player of the season RB and best CB from last season and the likes of Quinn, Oates and Clarke missing long periods so far.

Change this to 'should be getting promoted' then I'd agree. Really not arsed whether we're 1st or 3rd.

Unless Stockport start losing suddenly they'll finish top, given we've come from a league below them I'm content with that. I think with our spendpower in January, we'll finish above yourselves as well but not by a clear margin.

It's not essential that we go up this season and never has been, if we do then the whole thing could plateau a little bit anyway really as we'd probably just be looking at survival in L1 being the only aim the year after. We're Stockport a year behind anyway, as everyone knows.

No he's right you should be winning it on your budget, but agree it ultimately doesn't matter if you finish in the top three.
