Fairly comfortable 1-0 win, should have been a lot more, but 3 points is all that matters in the end. The little guy in midfield Kelly for Crawley looks a decent player, even though he must be about 4 feet tall....
Campbell if Crawley looked like he was booked twice, 1st in the 16th min then again part way through the 2nd half?

The overly optimistic version of me would say that we would have lost that game a month and a half/two months ago, that we’re showing more resilience and fight, and looking at other results today we haven’t lost any ground.

Plus that’s 4 unbeaten in league and cup,

The realist in me thinks that a point does neither side much good. It was a poor game between two poor sides, who have a long fight ahead of them to stay up (optimistic Jared thinks well at least we’re fighting). The Tranmere goal was a poor goal to give away on our part. In the second half we didn’t create much of note until Louis John scrambled in the equaliser.

Still a point is better than nothing.

Think that win today was stockport’s 13th in a row league wise i believe, which is unreal,

Mansfield made it 5 in a row and again kept a clean sheet at home, letting in only 3 so far this season. (again 2 of them in the 3-2 win against stockport back in august)

too early to tell yet on what’s what, keep going

We're sat in third spot with injuries and some clear deficiencies in the squad so Notts fans have to be happy with how things are going overall.

Steady on muc - it’s only 12 on the bounce. Stockport are at RP next week to make it 13 and shitting it I’m sure.

It was our 12th I believe and our worst performance.

During our incredible run to win the NL, Sarcevic was our most important player and we looked a shadow of ourselves without him. Today was the same and I think we’re going to lose quite a few points between now and his return in the new year.

For the first time since his injury at Crewe we also missed the X Factor that Louie Barry had brought to us.

Definitely one we ground out against an improved Colchester who definitely had to feel aggrieved that they were behind at HT considering how well their gameplan worked.

On the plus side our defenders are giving minimum 8/10 performances week in week out recently. Pye, Horsfall and MSH all really good again today.

Yeah it's 12 wins on the spin which equals a 4th tier Football League record which I believe was set by Luton. Win next week at Newport it will be the longest winning run in 4th tier history. It's a great achievement, fair play to us.

Mansfield still being unbeaten is very admirable too. Think Us and Mansfield are the two most rounded teams in the league. Notts best on the ball etc, Wrexham the best at certain aspects but I think us and Mansfield can play some good stuff yet still that mix of ruggedness that L2 requires. Clough and Challinor both solid managers too who won't get ahead of themselves. Be surprised if we both don't go up.

Didn't DC say he'd be back before Christmas?

Duff first half, decent second half where we strung some fantastic moves together and scored a couple of quality goals to give us three goals at home in the League for the first time in 32 MONTHS, which is a frankly insane statistic.

Edit: Actually the first time we've scored three goals at home in the League in front of fans since December 2019, hahahaha four fucking YEARS.

I thought we were very good second half, bit of a goal fest by our standards and really should have had more. Salford’s only tactic seemed to be get it out wide and cross to Smith, it worked once, but had little answer to us after.

First time we’ve scored three at home since 2019 I think, good start for Clemence.

Vital equaliser for us to keep us in touch. Think overall we probably deserved it, whilst not really putting too much together in pretty average conditions. Possibly a more confident Tranmere side would have pushed for the 2nd rather than sit on it but understandable given away season to date. Agree Tom Davies was excellent and kept Smith quiet which goes a long way to making it difficult for us in an attacking sense (including standing firm when an inviting ball was floated up to him at the back post, the sort we’ve seen him muscle in).

As i’ve said frequently, coming to mansfield is a tough deal (as is going to stockport).

8 games at home, we’ve conceded 3. you scored 2 of them.

Wrexham and notts are like being at the circus, fun to watch but will be interesting to see whether they can follow it through.

By end of November 40% of the season will be done. If it's too early to tell now that's extremely cautious.

Stockport and Mansfield are the best teams in the division by some way. They will make up 2/3 of the autos. Not convinced that the third spot is sewn up yet and any side could make a play

Relegation still pretty open imo

Yet another nondescript season of middle for diddle shite. Hope we can avoid the relegation scrap but when Young and Kemp get recalled in January you can guarantee they won’t be replaced by anybody much cop.

Can’t keep up with the number of games we take the lead then just crumble in the second half. Poorest squad we’ve had - period.

Yes, I should not waste my time posting on this L2 forum as Carlisle will never be down here again because we are getting new American owners next week and they are going to pump loads of money into modernising our club and we'll be splashing the cash in January to keep us in L1 and then push forward on to better things.

Aaaaand youuuull be down in the Non-league forever being a run down tinpot club.

The only two times that I can remember us being outgunned in a game and made to look second best since we came up last season have been our two trips to Field Mill. That's not to say we haven't lost other matches we have deserved to lose but apart from against you I've never come away from a game in L2 thinking we couldn't beat them again next week if we played them. Mansfield different story. Although I think we edged you at EP last season but you came away with a late draw.

No chance anyone from mansfield is thinking that, we could be 12 clear with 9 to play and find a way to fuck it up.

Wrexham and county just need to sort defence, (and county keeper).

But yeah i’d love to get of the division before that lot across the m1 come up.

Mate you battered us that game at EP, that draw was an absolute fraud.

As i’ve said elsewhere the sides who struggle at field mill are those who come play football, that 2nd half against you was the most complete half we’ve had this season, there’s no-one here who would compete with that.

We seem to be following the blueprint Orient set last season, we’ve a plus 8 GD at home, same as wrexham, though instead of it being 27/19 it’s 11/3.

I would be extremely surprised if Stockport and Mansfield don’t finish as the top two, as others have said they just look the most rounded teams. Third is wide open.

Circuses rarely drawn the crowds that Wrexham and Notts are. Both sides win lots at home and scores lots at home as a result concede less, importantly. These attendances at Meadow Lane are fantastic and when the Kop is built at Wrexham theirs will be very impressive no doubt.

I can't speak for last season's National League champions but people have to remember this is our first season back at this level. I don't know the stats but I doubt too many do a double promotion to L1. So it's the aim obviously but not expected. Most sides go up and seek consolidation, fast approaching December it should be obvious to all that we are clearly a level up from that. Stockport are a season ahead of us. Mansfield not sure on the exact number but loads. Wrexham are well Wrexham with big spending power.

What did Sky say during today's game, Notts have a top 10 budget (reported 8th) so we are punching above our weight currently. Just need the dream Danish duo to dip into their pockets to consolidate our position and give us a chance of back to back at our first attempt

Anyway, back to the important stuff…. we’ve reclaimed our spot today as the cleanest (fewest fouls) and dirtiest (most cards) team in the league at the same time.

We both did last season so neither team are bottlers.
Wrexham have the money and I'm pretty sure we'll be down the back of the sofa when the window opens and strengthen.

Yeah I wouldn't disagree with that from what I've seen. I actually think Mansfield might be a bit better than you lot which seems mental when you consider the run you're on but Mansfield are just ridiculously tidy on the ball and don't seem to give anything away. I feel like you're more susceptible to periods of play when you get bossed and whether or not you win depends on how far ahead you are prior to that or if you can weather the storm and get back on top. Whereas Mansfield don't seem to get bossed. All this is based on the incredibly small sample I've seen (and a bit going off the last two seasons' Stockport teams) of both sides mind, so I could be chatting shit. 2 top sides though and it's hard to see past you both for 2 of those auto spots. Notts and Wrexham are just both all out attack and way too vulnerable which is great for entertainment, they could both easily get that other auto spot or get done in the playoffs by a luckier/more savvy team. I think there'll be other sides that grow into the season and challenge too. Still a long way to go, I think Gillingham and MK Dons will both kick on get themselves into that promotion fight.
