The lack of options on the bench is what is pissing me off, every game so far this season and take today as a prime example, there’s a time after 60/70 mins where we are needing something to change the game to get back into it and what do we have?

A keeper, three defenders and three midfielders.

Nothing attacking wise, no pace, no goals, no nothing.

In a nutshell another awful performance we could be in trouble this season Wilkinson looks decent on the ball but we are playing him upfront on his own anyone can see it doesnt suit his game we need two more in this week urgently this is worse than last season so far and our defence is so slow its a joke Ash Taylor looks like a carthorse and Monthe hasnt played since last saturday the only one who has looked any good is Rollin so far.

Can you imagine being so fucking stupid that you go to an anti vax protest.

Fuck sake these people don’t deserve to live somewhere where you actually have access to a jab that saves lives and are free and readily available to any over 16 that wants one, and has allowed life to get back close to normal.

There’s millions of people round the world desperate to get jabbed and then on the other hand you get these conspiracy theory c*** who have to have something to moan about so invent shit so they can protest. Which is risking vulnerable peoples lives for nothing.
Utter bellends.

Apparently Carver organised the protest on the premise that it would definitely be discussed at Parliament on Monday.

Agreed. I still wear a mask in shops because i am not a selfish dickhead and understand that there are still people at risk. If they could make a microchip small enough to fit through a syringe why not just put them in food or drinks and save all the bother. Anybody who listens to David Icke and thinks he is right needs looking at. Tools.

Not a particularly bad performance from Tranmere, just that Newport were more of a goal threat. Deserved victory for the Exiles.
We will not be troubling the top of the division if we do not sort out our attack.

On a slightly shallow note the electronic add boards along the touchline look proper impressive and grown-up. They were ultra bright and florescent half an hour before the game. Then we ran them at half brightness. But impressed.
I like the new scoreboard, numbers big enough for even my dodgy eyesight...but slightly amused at one of the pre-match adverts which was dining with Jon Parkin...not sure if that would be at Greggs in Stroud or fighting him for a pie and chips in the Carol Embury!

I thought you looked okay going forward, first 15 minutes or so you'd created a couple of half chances, Wilkinson would be more of a threat had he someone alongside him but the defence were rotten, too slow and lost possession way too easy trying to pass it along the back line.

Burey is rapid but he went past Taylor for the first goal like he wasn't there, he even managed to shrug him off as he went past.

I see Clough slated Hewitt yesterday, the fact you’re playing him at right-back proves that you cannot possibly have watched him play before you signed him.

He’s a cracking CB and a shit RB

dreadful first half, better second.

think we were clearly second best but we had chances too so a draw isn't overly unfair on stevenage.

at least we scored.

its about time we ditch the 3 cb thing for a bit in my view, especially away from home when we need a foothold in midfield.

Why would you be a big target for anyone? You can't even claim a local Derby for that.

Its classic deflection, make it about the other team rather than your own performance.
Promotion favourites, just relegated, Barton as our manager - that alone is enough of a target for teams/fans to put that extra bit of effort in.

The fact that people keep commenting on Barton constantly probably suggests that I’m correct as well.

After Mansfield I’d agree it’s a total deflection, he blamed the ref a lot too. But from what I’ve seen in our loss to you yesterday, he seemed pretty open and honest about our performance.

I thought a draw was fair, game of two halves really, first half we were terrible and over run but one we made the half time change second half for periods we were better than them, had a spell where they struggled to get out but their keeper did well and we didn’t take chances again.

Garrity was key when he came on, Wozza terrible first half decent second, Dan Jones looks the signing of the summer for us and liked the look of Cass.

Not sure Ryan Johnson is good enough on the showings so far though. He always looks a weak link.

What that says is that if Barton goes nobody will really care.

Crap scoreboard - the discarded one was far, far better.
The Teams names are not on display!!!!!!
FGR no longer offer match day programmes or team sheets so scoreboard is only method for team lists [I don't have a mobile phone] but new scoreboard is less than useless in trying to find out who is playing.
For instance Western-super-Mare who are in 7th tier football has a better scoreboard than at TNL.
Our near neighbours at Cheltenham have a brilliant scoreboard and one FGR should have imitated.

Probably, unless we actually get better on the pitch.
You probably will but its obvious something is wrong. Maybe the players have lost respect for Barton and don't think he will be around for much longer. That can affect things, as we have all seen many times.

I think it’s a bit too early for that, considering most of the squad he brought in over summer is new. But something is definitely wrong and he needs to turn it around quick.

We don’t need to be league winners, but just competence and consistency would be nice

During 2nd half of match Crawley’s assistance coach approached the 4th official to have words with him.

As he walked away one wag in the crowd shouted out: “Don’t blame him. I’d ignore you as well”

The coach turned towards the wag with a big beaming smile, laughing at the joke.

Within a minute the referee stopped play and went over to the Crawley bench to book that coach.

Bloody hell!!

Yeah, clough really didn’t have a good 2nd half yesterday, when maris went off injured basically no-one tracked back and he was done time and again - especially when bradford doubled up on him.

That it was happening before the 2nd goal and he still didn’t change it at 2-2 really was poor. To then lambast him on the radio is remarkable.

Terrific 6-3 win on Saturday with FGR playing the best eye-catching football since promotion but FFS only 1,922 in the ground. Unbelievable piss f-ing poor for a team at top of table.
Our near neighbours, Gloucester, who play 6th tier football in National League [North] had 2,034 fans through the turnstiles.

Lovely little 1-0 smash and grab up at Salford. I watched a little bit of the game on Ifollow and the part I watched we looked sloppy in possession and Jojo in net had to make 3 or 4 excellent reaction stops to keep the game level. Early days yet but he has all the attributes to be a top keeper, similar to vigaroux without the attitude. Second half we managed an early goal with a lovely finish from a freshly determined Jack Payne. The stream died after 60 minutes so didn't see anything after but there was a melee in the last minute and it seemed like we were shithousing are way to the 3 points. Very frustrating but necessary at times.

Overall the new squad looks to be gelling nicely. We are showing how good we can be in parts but once we click I imagine we'll be pretty competitive this season. As to where that will be probably depends on the calibre of striker we bring in. It looks like a lot of clubs are on the hunt for that elusive striker so interesting times over the next week or so until the window SLAMS shut.

Mansfield at home next week is another big test.

You always beat us i’m sure you’ll do again.

I’d have been happy being in the top half at the end of august given we’ve had bristol rovers, newport, bradford and swindon - it’s been a tough start

We were outstanding in the first 30 minutes and tore Rovers’ defence a new one. So pleased for Matt Jay to get off the mark with a brace and was really impressed with Amond and Jevani Brown’s movement, both were excellent. We could have scored 8 goals yesterday.

Rovers probably had 4-5 clear scoring chances and our new keeper, Dawson made some excellent saves. Rovers consolation goal was outstanding but defensively they were a shambles.

A much needed confidence boost for us and I am sure Rovers will improve but can’t see Barton last much longer if they don’t improve quickly.

Clough’s post-match comments about Hewitt are disgraceful IMO. Completely crucified him, and EH isn’t someone who is ever going to have given any less than his best. He’s a limited player, but a good lad. Felt quite uncomfortable to listen to.

Thought we played well and just about deserved the win! looked dangerous every time we went forward and defended well when we needed to, a few really top saves from joe day none more so than the one in the first half from farquarson alex fisher took his goal well and once again ed upson was motm for us, thats 3 motm performances from him in the 4 games he's played for us looks like he just needed to get away from barton to start enjoying his football again.
I thought tranmere were a good side but their ageing midfield and defence looked slow and suspect at times and they really do need a striker (dom telford is available) enjoyed the day out and 6 points from 3 games all away is not a bad start, on to wednesday now and southampton at home and the long awaited return to Dave.

On loan striker Paul Glatzel is supposedly the brightest prospect Liverpool have had in attack for years. I thought Nevitt looked more suited to League 2 and he was signed from tier 9 and sunday league football.
The midfield isnt that old if we replaced Foley and Feeney with Ryan Watson and Chris Merrie. No idea why we go with old players.

Yems and that coach were constantly in the ear of the fourth official, it was an interesting side-show to an entertaining game...wasn't much of a surprise when a yellow card was shown by the ref, and the way the offender stamped off and sat on a cool box writing furiously on the sheaf of paper he was holding...someone sat near me shouted out "100 lines is it?", a bit too far away for him to hear but made me chuckle.

Add to that the fact that Cheltenham are in Division One this season, offering yet another opportunity for people to take in a live game...competing for occasional or floating supporters could be a challenge this season, although it is pleasing to see three teams from the county having success, regardless of rivalries...the rugby season hasn't even started yet, which is an other issue entirely.

I have seen him be quite out spoken not afraid to say what he thinks before - maybe a bit like his father was ?

But he’s accused him of not tackling Vernam because they’re mates, ridiculous.

I’ve not seen such a turnaround in a player than the one in Hewitt when he switched to CB, it’s Cloughs fault for not noticing that
