That’s no excuse, so are notts and they travel in remarkable numbers.

It’s a great excuse. So good I don’t even believe it, and my post was a fishing exercise which caught one intelligent and highly respected poster…and one dimwit from AFC.

Average numbers for their current big home crowds, which is an improvement on previous season when they were below par on that basis.

The key part there being "big home crowds..." Which is ultimately far more important for the obvious reasons. Many can't achieve, many never will.

To average over 1000 in the 4th tier is anything but average especially factoring in a poor away record.

The tier is irrelevant though - if your average home support is 10k then 1000 is 10% which I would say is average.

So we are victims of our own success for supporting our local side so well? Shucks. I'll take it.

Is away from or league position also irrelevant when judging this?

can’t get an allocation of over 1000 for half this tinpot division anyway so what a silly argument.

can we continue aiming all criticism at our defensive record and not our #class #fans please

We've sold out plenty of times this season under the Non League Pep so not sure that should be classed as average.

Town fans care passionately amount away support, far more than home support.

No surprises there

Didn't reckon much to County's noise or numbers last week but then again we just played Mansfield who are better in every way

I wasn’t criticising though, just picking up on the word “remarkable” - if you want remarkable away support this season look at Carlisle’s numbers. I don’t think any teams away support in this league this season is remarkable. MK’s is remarkably shit maybe but their fans appear to admit to that.

Oi, I said shit. Remarkably shit I’m not comfortable with. Can we please agree on relatively, consistently shit?

When Doug Tharme is your central defender you're going to leak a lot of goals. Lad has no business playing National League football nevermind up here.

But harsh. I thought he looked OK really, hard to judge in that wind and in a poor team but he's clearly come on a lot in the 4 years since he left us. He looked pretty composed for a 24 year old.

I liked him when he came through tbh, although he wasn't ready for that level. If we had been able to afford a reserve team he is a player I'd have liked to see us keep and develop.

Mike Williamson after losing 5-0 to Stockport in a six pointer…at least we won 65% to 35% on possession (presumably the ball being in the back of our net helped) and 13 shots to 10.

"We're on the raw end of a heavy defeat but when we look at it - although we have to hold our hands up and say we gave goals away - we played extremely well.

"We were clean, we were sharp, we mixed it up but couldn't take any of our chances early on when we were dominant. Then we were punished.

"The hardest thing is when we gave a goal away we needed to refocus but Stockport are up there for a reason and were clinical in everything they did.

"The lads have been phenomenal since I came in, and I have zero criticism. I told the boys that if, as a result of this, we are going to be tougher to beat, we'll be better off for it."

Listen to him speak and you’ll really understand why we signed him. A good shout for skipper next season.

Pretty limp showing from us in the end. Never really troubled their keeper so once they scored that was it. They looked a decent side, knocked it about well but struggled to create a lot until we eventually cracked.

Need to lift it for the Easter double v Stockport & Crewe or we're looking a bit doomed.
You were well organised and it took us a while to break you down but really we should have scored a couple in the first half but for woeful finishing and a couple more in the second, easiest win we’ve had this season.

Most of his clubs have been down at National North or the like. The flap for Mullin's goal was exactly how I remember him. The rest of their defence looked even worse today.

Bradford are in all sorts of trouble. Although they started the game brightly and pressed for 10 to 15 minutes they never looked like scoring. After that first spell, they faded badly. Once Marsh scored on 21 minutes they completely lost all composure and structure. It's hard to understand Alexander's tactics. Huffing it down the pitch into the wind didn't work but he had no plan B. Bringing on a couple of young lads, Wadsworth and Pointon just seemed pointless. It can't have done their confidence much good.

After a nervy start, Town grow into the match. Josh Marsh looked sharp, and his first goal for Harrogate should give him confidence. I hope he starts on Friday and it's the first of many goals before the end of the season. McDonald was commanding at the back. As the Bradford big boys tired Town took control. This good win at home is our best this season. The playoffs are out of sight but a top half position at the end of the season is still possible.

We'll go down next season if Alexander remains in charge.

You won't, and he likely won't be. However in that scenario would you then charge even less for a season ticket!!!! To guarantee those huge season ticket sales in the summer? After all it's what you are now famous for.

Alexander is awful. You only have to look at the improvement in MK Dons since they gave him the sack. I can't see you getting a better manager unless Rupp sells and Sparks goes. Gent needs the sack too.

Going to be difficult to get rid of any of them. Rupp thinks Sparks is doing a good job and Sparks thinks Gent is doing a good job.

We had a former manager on the interview panel and said manager told Sparks not to hire Alexander and he did it anyway.

Remarkably shit is used for Salford and other similar clubs who bought their way into the EFL, but didn’t bring their fanbase with them.
One for the morality police but arguably stealing another club’s place in the EFL is as bad, if not worse as buying your way in. So remarkably shit would be a fair description for the Milton Keynes travelling support.

Yesterday a prime example of games changing on goals. MK Dons started well, knocked the ball around well and had a few good openings to score. And then their keeper makes a fuck up and we never particularly looked back, MK Dons still played alright but they were a bit punch drunk with the scoreline. There seems to be a unwritten rule in this league that if you're a good passing side, you have to trade it off by defending terribly and have your goalkeeper have numerous brain freeze's. It was never a 5-0 really but it was a great win for us.

I've watched Notts for comfortably more than 3 decades and I can't ever remember a team moaning and complaining to the officials or just in general than Salford yesterday. Moaned if they were fouled, moaned if they thought they were fouled, moaned if they were penalised for fouling. It was without doubt a collective effort well supported by the assistant manager , and it was very impressive.

Lots of Hufflepuff
