I can’t believe the money swilling around at Wrexham at the moment and they haven’t yet invested in undersoil hesting . Visited Wrexham for our Tuesday night game last month , suprised me how poor the stadium still was considering it seems quite a substantial amount as been already invested, just goes to show how expensive and difficult it really is to take a club like Wrexham up to proper championship standard from non league , because getting it right on the pitch eventually collapses if the infrastructure isn’t up to standard . I’m sure you will make the championship but the fun really begins then, money is there for you though so no reason why you won’t continue to achieve. We don't have that, yet. Were meant to get it installed in the summer but everything has been delayed till the end of this season now.
We haven't got going in terms of stadium development, yet. In the summer, we were meant to move the dugouts to the other side, lay the bit part plasticy types of pitches you get in the premier league, and the new kop stand was meant to have been built by now if the original plans were stuck to.I can’t believe the money swilling around at Wrexham at the moment and they haven’t yet invested in undersoil hesting . I think Huddersfield spent 10 million on reaching the PL just updating a reasonably modern stadium upto premier league regulations, crazy really.
One thing I will say though is that the journey is more fun than the destiny so enjoy every second.
Obviously with not playing Wrexham for must be nearly 30!years bar this year, you here and read what’s happening even watched an odd episode of the Netflix program and my ecxpectations were that you’d moved the stadium much further on than it is, but like you’ve said above these things take time and much patience the good thing for Wrexham fans is it seems your American/Canadian owners have plenty , so even though I wouldn’t wish you good luck over my beloved terriers I am happy for any clubs of our ilk to progress and shove one up the big boys .We haven't got going in terms of stadium development, yet. The only thing they have spent money on is the concourse behind the goal, adding a new corporate box in the mold road stand (opposite to where away fans go), and add a temp stand. Oh, and red seats that replaces the blue seats at the town end of the same stand as away fans go to.
We have been selected as a ground to help host the euro 2026 finals for the under 19s, so the owners want the kop built by then, but everything down to finances, legalities and everything in between is holding the new development up.

I agree, off the pitch does need to catch up. We don't have a training ground that is ours at the moment. We have a league 1 side, with national league north style facilities. I think the term 'can't afford to go up' rings true for both us and Stockport. Let the behind the scenes catch up first, then go again in stages. Can't be underestimated how quick Wrexham have risen up. Very hard for off the pitch aspects to catch up with such a rapid on the pitch aspect. We're similar.
This is why I don't think it would be bad for them to consolidate a bit at this level and pursue infastructure improvements in that period. I don't think they're Championship ready. I come to this conclusion because we're in the same boat (albeit with much less financial resource at our disposal to do infastructure improvements as quick).
Also it probably shouldn't be understimated how hard it is to re-develop an existing ground that you're currently living and playing in every other week. If Wrexham have promised to stay at the Racecourse then they are once again in the exact same position as us where we have promised no out of town soul devoid stadium and that we want to stick at Edgeley Park. There's no doubt a new stadium with fuck all round it is easier but maybe not as worthwhile. I'm happy with our choice on that.
Yeah the location is superb. Near the train station and a short walk into town where there's plenty of boozers.Staying at your ground may cost more, and take a lot longer but it’s still the best option in my opinion, because a new build will never properly replace it.
Been talk at times maybe it’s best we moved from Field Mill, but a slow gradual improvement is fortunately the way we are going.
Plus we’d lose the worlds oldest professional football stadium tag!
I walked from Shrewsbury to the ground and it didn't take me that long. There are worse places.Yeah the location is superb. Near the train station and a short walk into town where there's plenty of boozers.
I'd be gutted if we moved to a retail park that is over an hour's walk from the town, lime Shrewsbury. Absolutely soulless.

Thing is though shrewsbury is just one of those out of town identikit stadiums - no character, no atmosphere, no history it’s just meh.
Though Gay Meadow was a class ground it’s understandable they had to move but still meh.
As the wrexham fans said would be daft for them to move grounds given the location of the ground - like us the grounds in a great location in relation to the town and station.
