How are Swindon priced at 6/4 at home against relegation certs Bradford, like printing money that one.

In January we are going to sign back ups for Robinson and Lavery. Cracked it.

Bradford prying away a manager from a L1 team and spending all that money just to still be terrible is quite remarkable

God knows why given that we are up against Keith Curle, but I think we’ll get a point here.

Whether 2 points from 9 would be enough to get Skelton the job permanently I don’t know.

Hoping that we carry a bit of momentum from Bradford the other night into Saturday. I feel it’s inevitable that Armstrong’s going to score against us. I think Liddle might return to the squad for this one after a couple weeks recovery, and his experience will be vital.

Going for a scruffy 2-1 win

Is Clough under serious pressure at Mansfield? Hopefully we can put another nail in his coffin on Saturday.

Mansfield seem to have a decent record at our place of late and we can’t assume this will be anything like an easy game despite where they sit in the table.

Nombe and Jay are both really good form so I expect goals from us. However, it’s trying to keep goals out of the net which is proving difficult of late. I can see this being high scoring game.

3-2 to us. Hopefully.

Is Jonathan Grounds playing much?

4 points from two tricky away games last week was good but a win tomorrow would really kick us on. (Captain Obvious I know)

Expecting an entertaining game at Prenton Park v Northampton. We played well away at Harrogate and probably did enough to win but we’re in good form, as are they, so should be a good one!

Cue a 0-0…

We seem to have righted the ship after the defeat to Hartlepool and should go to Tranmere with confidence. Have started both our recent away games firmly on the front foot so hopefully we can do so and actually stick some chances away this time.

According to Tranmeres trust Twitter page we’d sold 500 on Tuesday morning (not sure how accurate that is). If that’s right we should have a very good following there.

Probably just as well.
As Denzel says, he’s not played much but he did come on for the final 30 mins last Saturday and I thought he played well on the right side of a back 3.

He’s definitely backup though but certainly hasn’t been bad when he’s played.

We’ve pre-sold a hefty amount for Saturday though that’s partially because we’re so #massive it’s been made all-ticket. Sad state of affairs with this division being so far-flung for us that a trip to Stevenage is actually appealing.

Spending all that money?. You must be joking, bargain basement shopping in the summer more like.
Well you paid for your manager for a start, something most clubs here can't afford to do.

You took two of our highest paid players and blew us out the water for them and then signed a lot of proven L2 experience. Look at your team compared to most other teams.

You're easily a top 3 spender in the division

EDIT: Wait did Bradford pay for Adams? I assumed they did but if he quit Morecambe to go to Bradford that's a bit scummy.

Short trip to Stevenage, if we don't win I think our fanbase might have a meltdown. I don't enjoy Stevenage away, it brings out our local idiots and its not the greatest away trip in the world. Our record there is impressive though.

Their Programme is also online, which rattles my cage a bit, but its better than nothing.

I don't think we paid for Adams. It was certainly never released to the press if we did. As for our budget, its been cut (again) from last year, despite higher ST sales and a £50 increase too. Its a myth that we pay good money because we certainly do not, so if we blew you out the water for Eisa and Gilliead then they must've been on absolute buttons with you. If I was to guess, I'd say the budget was 7-10th.

That would equal the last 3 away support combined.

Oldham seem to be picking up form, and they've got some very good players. I expect a defeat here, though I am hoping to see some of the build-up play we showed at Newport. I'd go...

______________________Howard_________________________
Riley_________Whelan________McDonald_______Armer
________________Guy___________Mellish_________________
Gibson_______________Clough_______________Dickenson
_______________________Young__________________________

Found it pretty difficult though, the bright sparks we have shown at times this season are incompatable with each other. We look better in midfield when we have a midfield three of Riley, Guy and Mellish, meanwhile the build-up play of Gibson, Clough and Dickenson made us look as threatening as we have all season at Newport, but if you have that midfield three and then that attacking three then who's actually going to get on the end of all the build-up play? So now you need a striker and then what, a back three?

You could go 4-3-3 like

______________________Howard_________________________
Devine_______Whelan________McDonald_______Armer
_______Riley____________Guy___________Mellish_________
Gibson_______________Clough_______________Dickenson

and hope that the front three can between them develop and understanding and start getting on the end of each other's good play. I'd prefer that but it may take a few games to start scoring and there might be a lot of beautiful crosses with nobody to recieve them in the meantime.

Right back is an issue right now with Mellor still injured all our options are midfielders who can play there. Riley is better at it than Devine but I wanted him in midfield. The only times we've looked halfway decent in defence this season have been when Whelan and McDonald are the back two, so I've just done this. Seems unfair on Feeney who hasn't been at fault for much.

One possibility would be a 3-5-2 but that probably just messes with things too much and expects established partnerships like McDonald-Whelan and Riley-Guy-Mellish to work together as well despite being played in unfamiliar configurations. Not even gonna draw that out cos it looks like a Football Manager fever-dream.

Swindon away - we haven’t beaten Swindon away since 2005.

The fact that I’m on annual leave and bored is the only reason why I’m contributing to this thread. I feel so despondent towards the club at the minute, after what promised to be a decent campaign during pre-season. Granted, injuries haven’t help our cause but it just seems more than that - much more.

Anyway, Niall Canavan is back from injury. But it doesn’t really matter too much because Adam’s will most probably field the same useless starting XI, the same formation that doesn’t work and suggest we played well following 90 mins of hoofball towards an isolated Cook. Threlkeld is uselsss, so young Counsin-Dawson might start. Season standout (if you can label anyone that) Ridehalgh is injured, so Matty Foulds (shite) will fill in at LB - meaning we’ll get bummed down both flanks. Watt needs dropping, but so does Callum Cooke and Alex Gilliaed. Whatever changes we do make wont be wholesale.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Finn Cousin-Dawson
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Niall Canavan
LB: Matty Foulds

CM: Yann Songo’o
CM: Levi Sutton

RW: Alex Gilliead
CAM: Callum Cooke
LW: Charles Vernam

CF: Andy Cook

That line-up should be pissing this tinpot league. You are only three points off the playoffs though so I don't know why you're so pessimistic.

And hopefully not spoiled by the coppers this time as was the Swindon game. Talk about over the top.

The way we are playing at the moment, we are probably the joint worst team in the division. Agree with Firthy, there's probably more to it than player's ability.

I haven’t really been following your performances apart from the fact I expected you to be higher than you are. Rides was a brilliant player for us in the way that he was a steady guaranteed 6 or 7 out of 10 each week. But if he’s your standout player then that speaks real volumes!
