Do you think Adams will last the season?
He'll be here for the season and even get next season if we haven't gone up. Our ceo idolises him and has even sacked off his own philosophy just to make Adams happy.

Maybe he just got too happy with the underdog approach last season which your club should never be at this level.

I said I think we’ll get a point, but I’m going to adjust that. We will win.

The mad quotes such as doing well the other night despite it genuinely being one of our worst performances in years, is a trait Plymouth fans had mentioned before he joined.
I can’t defend the unforgivable big boot to Andy Cook tactics as a blind man could see that doesn’t work but the one thing in his defence is the terrible squad depth and recruitment that left us both short in key areas and had the man behind those deals quickly given the boot, replaced by Adams’ own men covering here and Ireland.
He will 100% be here next season, the ugly football and bull he talks is nothing we didn’t already know but his CV over time says his approach works and we have to trust in that. The current form is abysmal but our win/lose difference with Canavan in or out of the side is ridiculous and he’s finally back in time for tomorrow. Saying that our next few fixtures are as tough as they come and given we’ve won 1 in 11 it’s hard to see much improvement in the coming weeks.

Rovers v Cobblers is a hard one to call. It seems that out of the pair of attacking midfielders who swapped clubs, Paul Lewis is faring better and it wouldn't surprise me if he scored tomorrow. By contrast, Ryan Watson rarely gets off our bench at present and so far hasn't lived up to expectations when he signed, though mainly deployed in a more defensive role when he does play.

He isn't getting in the team because Morris and Foley have been playing well. All three are preferable to Lewis, along with Chris Merrie.

I agree Foley's been a revelation and we all knew what Morris was capable of when played in a suitable position (not wing-back)

I quite liked Lewis in his stint with Rovers last season. Ungainly, but he mixed it up a bit and chipped in with some goals. Early days for Watson.

Oldham seem to be picking up form, and they've got some very good players.

Do we? Who? Bahamboula is great every now and then but as much as I love him, he can be pretty hit and miss. That’s it though. There’s a reason we’re 22nd…

Of course we should beat Mansfield. We probably won't.
Nombe going for 7 goals in 7 games, and Jay is on fire too.
But with our defence it will probably be 2-2 or hopefully 3-2.

Agreed. I would not have Lewis in preference to any of our current midfield. He had a talent for arriving late in the box, but was one dimensional compared to the midfielders we have now.

Going to Walsall today - there's definitely a lot of pessimism from Barrow fans about this fixture, but I hope we can play our own game. We've struggled against teams that camp in their own half and the more route-one teams, but I don't think Walsall play that way? On paper this looks like a fairly evenly-matched one.

FGR v Salford
There does not appear to be any Salford supporters on this site, so I checked out their own Fan's Forum to read that The New Lawn has been a Happy Hunting Ground for their club in last two years.
They have won both games !
They also point out that last five games form is identical.
Having written that they aren't over-enthusiastic to maintain winning run claiming their team is incapable on putting two wins together.

Morning chaps haven't posted for about 2 years . Ay up to Mr Fish my Grimsby friend .

The reason I've come on is regarding a Vale poster Andy Proctor who is in hospital having taken an overdose in an attempt to take his own life.
Now I've no time or indeed inclination to trawl through umpteen posts but his dad has messaged me to say he was accused of being a racist on here by an Orient supporter . Apparently that has tipped him over the edge and he's in a bad way.
I have no idea if any of this is correct but Andy made threats to take his own life a couple of years ago on the Port Vale fans forum. This time he's acted upon it.
He clearly has mental health issues and does react badly on forums.
If Andy is back on here after hopefully he recovers then maybe ignoring him is for the best , don't get involved.
All I'm told is he's written a note blaming this alleged incident of calling him a racist and the police have it.

Sorry for such a post but I've been asked by his dad ( who pm me on the onevaleforum ) to put it up on here.

Like I said no idea what on earth went on but getting into spats is no good for him and he reacts how the majority of us wouldn't.

Maybe just think before you press ' post reply' .
Cheers lads and lasses

Sad to hear this, I saw he’d posted on OVF the other day about his feelings. It’s a tough time for most and even myself who is quite laid back has struggled in recent months prior to summer with lockdown and thankfully making the best of summer and being able to do some things like go Vale again has seen that pass so hope Andy can get recovered and into a better place.

I don’t recall anyone calling Andy a racist on here that I saw, we got some stick for the Vigouroux incident slightly which was put down as not being representative of the whole fan base but don’t think anything malicious. Of course when struggling though it may have been misconstrued and not everyone is maybe aware of Andy’s real difficulties.

Send him my best if you speak to him.

I don't know him personally mate his dad has messaged me on OVF maybe because on there I told Andy he needed to speak to someone about his feelings and issues. I got a random message this morning asking if I'd put it on here .
Like I said I have not a clue what went on but I do know he takes banter as personal whereas 99% of us can laugh it off and take with a pinch of salt.
It's very sad situation either way.

His last two posts on here were alarming to say the least, clearly needs some proper help and stepping away from online spaces would seemingly be for the best, life isn't as easy for some as it is for others, I wish him nothing but the best and a full recovery.

I haven’t really been following your performances apart from the fact I expected you to be higher than you are. Rides was a brilliant player for us in the way that he was a steady guaranteed 6 or 7 out of 10 each week. But if he’s your standout player then that speaks real volumes!

Stand-out defender, I should have said. Vernam and Cook are the best of a poor bunch.

Still maintain that we’ll pick up at some point. Whether that some point is this season or next, only time will tell.

We haven't had a red card in our favour for two years now, don't know why but I have a feeling today will be the day this happens.

That has to be one of the worst lineups I've seen from this football club. Shite all over the pitch and our best player in Vernam benched.

Adams is starting to piss me off now.

4 changes from Tuesday and a very attack looking XI.

Politic starts in place for Garrity, Gibbons back in for Benning, Cass back in after being rested midweek for Martin and Rodney up front for Lloyd.

Unchanged 11 for us.

Makes sense as we looked incredibly comfortable on Tuesday until Cox starting tinkering and ruined it.

Wish Andy Proctor all the best too but also hope the Orient fan doesn't feel responsible, I read that exchange at the time and they said nothing that wasn't warranted by what got posted first. Only right we look out for each other's mental health but also people can only take as they find if you join an open forum.

BREAKING NEWS (we think): Adam’s has opted for a different formation.

Diamond with 2 up top - I’m genuinely shocked.

GK: Richard O’Donnell

RB: Oscar Threlkeld
CB: Paudie O’Connor
CB: Niall Cananvan
LB: Matty Foulds

DCM: Yann Songo’o
RCM: Elliot Watt
LCM: Levi Sutton
CAM: Alex Gilliead

ST: Andy Cook
ST: Caolan Lavery

Few things of particular interest;

- Canavan returns, which gives us a great chance of coming away with something.
- I don’t think Songo’o has the legs to play that role.
- Gilliead, through his own admission, states CAM is his preferred position. So, it’ll be interesting to see if he is just as useless there as he is on the wing.
- Cook finally has his strike partner, but unfortunately it’s Lavery

Confident we’ll only lose this 1-0 now, not 2-0.
