I've always maintained that I would post in the Conference South forum in the event of Woking being relegated, out of respect for the forum rules. You may not have seen me post that after you cried off the forum when Lincoln were rubbish, so here's one of them:

That said, with Ebbsfleet likely to get promoted and no disrespect to Aberstone, who I still feel sorry for having been pushed off his moderator throne by the bullish 'DSL', there isn't much point in sticking around with so few posters.

We're not safe yet, those games in hand are against Macclesfield and Lincoln!

Beat Macc and your up to 47 points though which will be nearly enough. We literally have to beat Sutton to stand even a slight chance of staying up.

Well....not quite. 'Mind the gap' was something X Factor contestant Wagner (of all people) directed at John Rooney at the behest of Chester fans when you were 7 points ahead of us. When we overtook you it was just humorous to throw that back in your faces.

Before the game today you were adamant you'd be going down. Now you are going to win both games in hand?

Quite the flip flop. Are you a politician?

Apparently McCarthy's now deserves an extension to his 2 year contract.

I happened to be in Lincoln this afternoon, stopped in at a few bars, the Imps were in very, very high spirits after the game. Was a feel good atmosphere both inside the pubs and around the city centre after the FT whistle which was nice to be around. Good luck for the rest of the season.

Dale Vince's "FGR will win league in 2017" quote is still on the front page of the BBC National League page.
:D I reckon they loved it when he was daft enough to say it (yet again) and some Tranmere fan in their web department has pinned it there to haunt us.

Not that strange, Dagenham for example lose every week and have been in the playoffs all season.

Or win. 4 draws all season. We have been average at best since Mid November but still in with a shout for play offs, shit league.

Fair play to Lincoln, well deserved stronger mentally and physically and generally too good for us. Two horse race now but can't see past the Imps tbh.

Didn't help that Darren seemed well off the pace and Cooper junior was missing or falling over when we had something to try and hold on to. Well beat in the end but frustrating that we might have got away with all three with only a bit of spine.

Maybe we can do an all division match thread from next year, can't hurt.

Hey you can't kick us out of the conference proper thread then when we look like we might make it back change it to an all division thread. :told:;)

Not a convincing showing by Rovers against a battling Braintree side. With Dover reinforced by Miller up next, any faint hope of going up automatically could be gone by Tuesday.

We were deserved winners. Missed a number of chances in the first half, but never really got going in the second, although Braintree to their credit came and had a real go at us.

The strength of our defence has allowed us to 'get away' with narrow victories in the majority of home games under Mellon.

Micky seemed really positive about our chances in his interview, which was good to see. We were ninth when he took over in October and apparently heading nowhere, so I am delighted to even be in contention for the title at this stage.

Why has noone mentioned this before?

It's just a desperate attempt by another poster to keep me posting on the forum next season.

I'm talking about Aldershot, Dover and Gateshead in my post, not Lincoln. I understand the division is a bit obsessed with us, but it's getting a tad ridiculous now.
Not obsessed, hoping you have the league sewn up so you can take it easy against us in a few weeks.

Lincoln looked a different animal to the side that nicked a result at our place. At that point they looked like a solid battling side who were a cut below us, and should have been put away comfortably before we took our eye off the ball and let them back in. Yesterday they properly asserted their authority, they were better then us at everything (Including timewasting).

Tranmere are going to have to go some to stop them walking it from here.

I was very surprised with how passive FGR were yesterday, pretty much all the way through the match - you seemed content just to sit on the 1-0 lead rather than go and attack a potentially vulnerable side and put us away - I think that gave us the initiative going into the second half, and obviously only one winner after the leveller. Think if we had Doidge alongside Rhead, the title would already be close to being sewn up.

This week will be crucial - we have Sutton (A) and Bromley (H), and you have to say that if we're serious about winning this thing, then it has to be six points. Tranmere on the other hand have the altogether more difficult prospect of Dover (H) and Wrexham (A), so we'll see how they handle those.

Whatever league we are in next year, the priority has to be a genuine goalscorer to play alongside Rhead. We've done well really without anyone getting close to 20 goals.
