100% winning record v 100% losing record.

Surely only one outcome here?

1-1. Akinde (pen) to score for the U's, Macauley Bonne to level it up in the second half in front of a raucous 7139.

After seeing his opening day performance and a bad miss from 6 yards on Tuesday last week (which we were warned about), and our 21 year old scoring 2 in 2 while we wait for SPM to return from injury, I highly doubt it.

Our xG was 0.04 at half time on Saturday. Against a team of 19 year olds. Up the chickens!

I expect us to run riot with a breathtaking display of free flowing attacking football, as per usual.
Based on the early season form and table, this is probably the first game we are favourites to win so no doubt we'll fumble it!
I'm hoping that FGR persist with the high defensive line seen against Newport and Ali Al-Hamadi can get off the mark after a rather dodgy start to the season (2 missed pens and several sitters). That is, if he's even still at the club after Barnsley had an offer rejected for him last week....

We had Bowery at CB against Grimsby, Jordan Bowery…

Need to get some players in asap
...and you might well have lost had it not been for him.
Looks like you are conceding what is expected, it's the other end your problem lies, don't blame the worldies against, blame your strikers
You seem to be forgetting that Mansfield are top of the league if you take away the goals they have conceded.

Not much you can do against strikes where 99 of the 100 are going over the stand, but you’re right we’re wasteful with the chances as we were last season.

Grimsby we’re full value for a goal at least saturday, but yeah with the possession ajd chances realistically it should’ve been a win but heyho.

They’ll be a fair number of sides that’ll come unstuck at grimsby if they play like that at home most games.

Not much you can do once the ball has left Eisa's foot but he's a player who is capable of cutting inside and unleashing them and he's received the ball in an ocean of space and then your RB has backed off him so while I kind of get what you're saying, you've been punished for not being tight on him.

If they didn't have any injuries they would have won the league already

Completely agree.

Watched a lot of the game back Saturday, and you lot did absolutely nothing in the second half against a defence that was made up of 50% strikers. Got to be a concern?

Well it’s a fluke, let’s not beat around the bush, but a quality one at that

we go for the weekend, it’s quality.
Actually at a wedding in Scotland the day after so it works perfectly.

The drive to Barrow is one of the best.

A bit but not massively so, we aren't going to be all attack under Hurst. The side is still very much gelling, he was always gonna set us up conservatively in these opening matches as he's very much sort the defence out and build from the back. The lack of creativity in isolated games doesn't concern me, however the lack of a different type of striker does. We don't seem to have a plan B as of yet.

Having said that, I'd be much more concerned if we were leaking goals and being turned over as being solid is Hursty's bread and butter. If not for an Eastwood calamity we'd have had three clean sheets out of three at BP against yourselves, Salford and a Wimbledon side that have scored in every other match so far. We got done at Notts but we won't be the last decent defence to go there and ship more than two goals this season and even then one of them was a ridiculous deflection.

If we kept a clean sheet on Saturday that would apparently have been a record 6 straight home league games without conceding, didn't happen. The last side to score at BP in the league?

Mansfield in April!

As i said before many will come unstuck at grimsby, that’s the best grimsby performance i’ve seen in a long while (i discount the 1-0 win you had at ours under goughlan as he well isn’t a fit for purpose manager)

I never had any doubts we’d score and wasn’t surprised when we did, just annoying to defend as well as we did to be undone by a fluke, but that’s football, well score one at some stage this season.

We've only beaten Doncaster 3 times since the move and they did the double over us the year we should have got promoted to the championship/they got relegated (just one win or drawing both games would have taken us up). Fully expecting another frustrating game against them on Saturday.

Don’t, we’ve got 7 players out already, a squad full of unfit players who are a good 6 weeks away from gelling as a team

“Oh hey, Bradford City we’re the guys who pick who referee’s where at the weekend, we were just wondering who the last person alive on the entire planet is, who you wouldn’t want in charge of your game on Saturday in what feels an already must win game in the season, because I think we’ve boo-boo’d”

Drysdale improved loads in recent years, that being said he will either be top notch or a disaster.

Can’t wait until we get to see one of his top notch displays then.
