A quick look on your forum suggest we should win convincingly but anything can happen in this league. By the way why didn't Jack Iredale get much game time with you? He's been excellent for us, playing left wing and left back.

because he was shit near enough every time he played for us. Got absolutely roasted by any half decent wide man.

Speaking of Bradford, where have all their fans gone?

They disappeared earlier in the season, randomly returned for a bit and have gone again.

Weird.

I made this quick graph to explain Bradford appearance on the forum ;)

There's quite a few things I like about him. He clearly enjoys playing football and has a never say die attitude, and players like him are an asset to any first team squad. But he's definitely not a good old fashioned left back, but that's all too common now with most modern full backs. Very good at getting forward but average at best when up against any decent wide man.

His dad often posts on our forum and that's usually to say that it's 3 am in Australia but he's watching the game regardless. I don't know how I feel about it tbh; one thing I'm sure of is that if I were him I certainly wouldn't check out what the fans are saying about my boy let alone sign up to the forum in order to share my thoughts.

Think we'll smash Bolton at the weekend, not drop another point for the rest of the season and sail blithely into League One as champions. Nurse, the screens.

You can get a 4-1 win for us at 90/1 on BetVictor. Gotta be worth a tenner of anyone's money....

Can’t say I saw much of this never say die attitude. I thought he was soft and often bottled physical duels and challenges.

They say a fool and his money is soon parted

What are your predictions for Saturday, reckon you'll be too strong for us?

Live on Sky, first time we've been on TV in ages. Hope we don't embarrass ourselves.

We are far from unbeatable...Dont know i cannot call Saturday because i dont know what team you will have out..
We are Missing Sarcevic for the next month...
Think the winner will go up automatically the loser play offs.

I would put another Centreback in to replace Santos and tell him to manmark Matt
You are not a one man team but your very close.

2-2 both happy and we both move on

Would take a 2-2 right now tbh.

How we do will depend on what sort of central midfield we can put out, seem to be trying everyone there, a right back and winger last week, a young striker who's been out on loan at Leamington on Tuesday. If Jordan Moore-Taylor, a CB, is allowed to play in a protective cast on Saturday, reckon he might start in there which will help make us more solid.

We have been playing 4/2/3/1 all our unbeaten run with MJ Williams and Lee as the holding midfielders
We are restricting teams to one perhaps two chances per game.
On the flip side of that bar Doyle and Fonz we dont score goals.
Isgrove is Tidy but not a goal threat. Dapo is a real Talent but makes the wrong choices at times.....he is very raw.
Maddison is struggling for form and cannot get a starting spot. Sarcevic [injured]

Its your right back that will need to be on top of his game trying to stop John who is very alike Andy Robertson

We normally play a 3-5-2, so John will probably be up against Wilson (rwb) and either Bernard or Godwin-Malife (rcb), who on form are good defenders with a fair bit of pace.

Glory hunters all became Horwich Pigfeets fans. That’s why there’s been a proliferation of ‘new’ posters from there. Holty10 is Firthy_BCAFC.

Seems an age away from playing tranmere on the opening game of the season, sat watching with a beer in a bar in cyprus.

One of the more one sided 0-0 games i’ve seen in a while that day, we absolutely battered them.

However times change and would be more than happy with a point this time round, we do seem to draw pretty much everytime we go there.

Mansfield very jekyll and hyde currently, brilliant against cheltenham, impressive against forest green and absolutely dire against barrow and grimsby while meh against carlisle.

Would have been a weekend in liverpool in normal times also!

Haha, no idea who that is, or maybe that's what I would say...

I joined up in Jan and posted in Feb. We had turned the corner, but were still way off the pace. But it was starting to get a bit more interesting for us, and unfortunately none of my friend group support a club down here.

I feel fairly confident that we'll get a win here, but it's what come's after that looks grim. I hadn't really been looking our run in, as I was waiting for Barrow to essentially relegate us last night, but of course I've been sucked right back in.

Walsall (h)
Salford (a)
Cheltenham (h)
Bradford (a)
Bolton (h)
Morecambe (h)
Oldham (a)
Exeter (a)
Port Vale (h)
Cambridge (a)

Savage run there. If we stay up then it really will have been a miraculous escape.
Dont worry we are garbage our manager has come out and compared us to a pub team in the press after the stinkfest at southend and he is right.

Southend have taken 4 points off us this season.

You have Bradford to thank for that.
Chris Beech is certainly doing a good job at Carlisle. There were something like 4 brothers in the family and they have been involved in the playing side and board room over many years at Fleetwood Football Club. The father was a very successful skipper in Fleetwood when it was the premier port on the whole of the west coast of England and Scotland

Delighted to see you doing well and love to see you at Highbury next season

Have you not been paying attention to League 2 at all then?

We ain't going up this season so unless you're implying you might yet go down, or referring to our inevitable Pizza Cup tie then you won't be seeing us as Highbury.

I am not sure I would describe our 0-0 draw at Mansfield as a battering, although they were definitely on top. I any case, we are a very different side now.

Mansfield have a decent squad and seem to be performing against the better teams, which is a bit of a worry. However, if we want to go up automatically we need to win this game. If we don't, there will be a lot of added pressure on the Easter games against Cheltenham and Cambridge, which are big enough already.

Hopefully Woolery and a couple of others are back for Saturday, and we are in the top three by 5pm.

Your right that game does seem like an age ago. Can’t remember us getting “absolutely battered”,but if your strikers had put their boots on the right feet you would of ran out comfortable winners.
Our home form is totally indifferent, so a win either way with a draw unlikely.

Well I've dropped a right bollock with that remark, I had'nt realised how far down the league you have slipped. In fairness you were much higherat one time. Heres to next season eh

Exactly 13 places higher :(

One can only hope we're able to replicate whatever got us to the top in the first half of this season (actually 2nd with games in hand as late as the beginning of February, which still blows my mind) and not whatever caused us to only take 6 points since then.

Oldham at home, who've been inconsistent since Keith Curle went there, I look forward to the usual spoiler tactics his teams usually deploy when away from home.

Our next 3 games Oldham (H), Mansfield (A) & Walsall (H) are all winnable on paper and if we win them all we will be back in the playoff race.

But the reality is we've got 50 points right now and firmly on cause to win the midtable cup, I don't see our players putting in any extra motivation into their games if the last few weeks have been anything to go by - 90% of our squad will not be here next season as I keep saying so I'm not expecting things to suddenly change too much in terms of performances, although this week we've grinded out two good 1-0 wins away from home and appear to be making less all round mistakes as a team.

We've not put in a good performance at home since we beat Salford 1-0 on Jan 2nd, we did beat Morecambe 2-0 a few weeks after that but it was a lucky win more than anything. So Jobi really does need to get the team to put a shift in at home tomorrow if he wants the job full time because we've been lazy and boring at home for nearly 3 months now.

I've now got my feet up, I expect us to continue bumble along to a midtable and hopefully a top half finish which would be progress on last season for this squad before its finally broken up.

Mark Cooper gave an interesting pre-Bolton video interview.
Forget the looks of the interviewers, two of them are unknown outside their own front door, but they did ask some good questions which Cooper answered with a straight bat.
  • MC was told by Mansfield management at the end of our 0-0 draw that was the best that Mansfield had played all season. [2 min on video]
  • MC spoke at length about Bolton. He said that the Bolton squad had quality throughout. [ 3min 30secs on video ]
  • MC was asked about his memories of Frank Worthington, who he knew as a young boy when his father played for Leeds United. [ 7 min 40 secs on video ]
  • Chris Stokes was interviewed on 2nd part of interview. He was asked about his 5 years at Bolton when they were in Premiership. He had to smile to himself because his wife and in-laws are all massive Bolton supporters as are many of his friends. [ 20 min on video ]

I think if we lose, there is basically no way we finish above Forest Green. Win and the odds for top 3 will swing, and I'd assume FG would drop out the 3 favourites.

We're performing way better than our season average and they're currently doing worse than theirs. If we play like we did against Cambridge I think we win, play like against Port Vale and Walsall and I'm not confident.

We don’t really have a decent squad anymore, not even close to what Tranmere have to be honest, the only thing that doesn’t need significantly improving is the midfield, we’ve still got some good players but it’s lacking in depth and especially in strikers that score goals.

You are right though, we tend to put in good performances against teams near the top although it’s been more at home recently.
