We battled hard, on another day might have nicked a point but Posh were a well drilled side. Soft pen I thought from a shocking ref who gave us nothing all day.

The table isn’t looking too great for us with Burton & MK winning, we’re 7 points off safety having played between 2-4 games more then everyone else.
I think we’ve beaten nearly as many League 1 teams as you have this season Chris. ;)

I've heard 2 rumours regarding vale. One is Clarke did go for an interview for the Portsmouth game and he wanted the job but because he had over 4 years of a contract left they couldn't agree a deal with Portsmouth. The second rumour is that vale had loaned money from Denise coates owns bet365 and Stoke and they now want there money back and us having to pay that back means we don't have the money to strengthen the squad and do the work needed to improve the pitch.

Oh only to piss Andy off. I don't care either way with any luck we won't be meeting next season
We won't, and in a way I'll be glad to get rid of your club. Not because I dislike Wednesday particularly but we need to get rid of some of these big budget teams to make it a level playing field.

Can see you coming straight back down with that manager though.

Maybe so but that league above looks so poor a standard aside from the Parachute lot I'm not so sure we will

I’d take drawing with a League 1 team at this point tbh.

Why would Stokes owners loan Vale money?

Let’s hope the Donaldson stuff is true mind, he is minted and clearly loves the club and would be a great partner with Carol.

Some game today, Morecambe struggled to deal with the press and as soon as our better players got a foot hold in the game then it was truly a great game to watch. McGoldrick seems to be in cruise control at the moment; I’ve seen some fantastic senior players in the past at Derby, but he’s by far the best. Ironically, he’s everything I expected a 35 year old Wayne Rooney to be, but McGoldrick is twice the player at that age. A third hattrick for the season - 12 goals in 13 starts. The players are really starting to get in their stride now - 14 or 15 unbeaten in the league, 6 or 7 straight wins on the bounce.

Big one coming up away at Wycombe next, hopefully we can keep it going. We go above Ipswich if we win our game in hand, 5 points off Plymouth. I’m still convinced it will be the playoffs for us, but we’ve got ourself close to being amongst it.

worst game of the season by far, terrible performance and only one team were going to win that game.

BUT

worst ref I've seen for years who spoilt an already shit game. i dont know if wycombe are such horrendous cheats or if they just did their homework on that ref, but the swan dives were getting tiresome after 10 minutes, never mind the full 90. but they worked on the whole.

Going by other comments on here I think it's a pretty common theme. They're not going to get into the playoffs being nice guys and playing scintillating football but good luck to them. Perhaps we should do it a bit more. I'm surprised that Ainsworth encourages it though as he doesn't strike me as someone who condones shithousery.

As you say, we deserved nothing from an appalling performance, but we needed a strong ref and instead we had a stinker.

That's how I found Wednesday. They're not scintillating or amazing but they close down the space quicker than any team I've seen in the league and they're also physically very strong throughout the team. Would be amazed if they weren't in the top 2 come the end of the season.....in spite of their manager.
Yep, they’re ruthless when out of possession and incredibly well organised.

I think Moore deserves more credit than he gets for spearheading that.

Working well then..
Whilst today was shite, I’m almost certain I read a stat around a month ago where no other manager in the football league had picked up more away wins than McKenna since he took over at Ipswich.

Today was admitt dreadful though first half. Second half was much improved and we could have gone on to win. As usual the stats have us dominating but imo we can’t at all complain with the draw. Cambridge fair value for the point and will stay up if they show that sort of fight until may.

Yes Ipswich had lots of the ball and created a few openings but it wasn’t like we were clinging on for dear life. And had the ref not been whistle happy for the penalty and played the advantage instead then we’d have been two up.

Ipswich are obviously a good side and on another day could have won yesterday. But I was a little disappointed with them, I expected more.

FIVE WINS ON THE BOUNCE!!!

Ryan Bowman the match winner off the bench for the second weekend running. Good to see Barnsley drop points at Fratton Park. We close the gap to three points. Things are looking good down at the Meadow…

Roll on Port Vale!
I listened to Karl Robinson’s interview after the game. Yes, you may have won the game but when you look at the overall play, the possession stats, how we limited the number of efforts on goal, how we could have won the game and that the players care… Oh and something about mountains and a fixture against Luton from 2018 which I honestly don’t remember. You do have to sit back and ask yourself who the real winners are.

On a more serious note, you managed to make us look somewhat threatening and defensively reasonably solid. For that you should be deducted 30 points and relegated to League Two. Why would you even try and make our manager look even somewhat competent? If you’re going to win the game, could you not have at least lifted a finger to make us look weak so KR gets sacked a bit quicker? Our season counts on it.

Excellent result for us yesterday and a complete change from previous games with 11 shots on target! Not everyone will be as poor as Accrington and things won't click quite as well every week but it makes such a difference a) having Montsma back in defence after 13 months out who is comfortable stepping out from defence into midfield and b) having a player like Erhahon in midfield who seems to spot a pass very quickly and is willing to break the lines.

Just having those two in the starting XI seemed to join everything up yesterday.

Even John Coleman, who's usually fairly bullish, looked a beaten man in his interview. Despite their two or three games in hand on people, I think they're in a real struggle this season.

I’m disappointed we didn’t get the win against Ipswich, the ref blowing up for a pen when advantage should have been played was one of many baffling decisions, the Lino on the main stand side also had a shocker!

Quality goal from knibbs and the rest was just hard work and organisation, something we’ve lacked for a long time. Ipswich huffed and puffed 2nd half but didn’t create that much although edwards looked like a tidy player when he came on.

Play offs beckon for them with derby and Wednesday going straight up!

If we perform like that till the end of the season then we’ll be fine.

KTF.

Charlton took the lead against the run of play but then we had a calamitous ten minutes. Game changed since Mitchell came on, feel we are unlucky to be behind at the break.

You were definitely the better side in the first half overall, particularly after you scored but didn’t really do enough in the second half to warrant an equaliser, think we controlled it quite well for the most part.

Two good goals from us, especially the first although disappointing defensively from an Exeter point of view, saying that the Exeter goal was a shambles all round from us.

Yep, fair enough. Second half was really disappointing. I'm hoping that it was a case of the newbies bedding in, as half the time we looked like strangers.
Still, need to bounce back at Burton, I don't want them doing the double over us as well!
