Well you kind of did. Your post was clearly aimed at me and your words were “I would feel sad for any fan in a promotion battle not enjoying the ride”.

My pessimism stems from living through Carlisle United this past however many years. There’s always a kick in the bollocks just around the corner.
That’s why when we do win I enjoy it, I take it all in, live, sleep and breathe it all, I enjoy the weekend and bask in the glory of the 3 points as if it’s the last.

You go way over the top though with your pessimism, like believing that we would go part time a couple of seasons ago and predicting us to lose almost every game we play even when we're flying high in the league.

So Grimsby at home.

After getting over our “blip” and toothless spell, we’ve put together back to back wins and importantly have remembered how to put the ball in the net. That said, those 2 wins were over teams in and around the bottom.

This will be a step up. Grimsby have just gone to Southampton, pulled their shorts down and gave them a lesson before booking their place amongst the elite of English cup football. We should be under no illusions of the task in front of us. We have to do what a Premier league club isn’t capable of, beating Grimsby at home. A monumentally hard task that we’ll have to be absolutely at our best for.

Hopefully Grimsby will bring a good following to add to what will hopefully be a big home crowd. I myself know a few people who don’t normally go to Brunton park but are going to this one for the chance to see Anthony Glennon live. Maybe we’ll see quite a few “new fans” in for the same reasons so hopefully we put on a performance to entice them back.
I expect thousands will turn up to see the human wonder that is Danillo Orsi - cured and fit after the vicious assault that nearly severed his spine in the Soton penalty area…

Look at Grimsby thinking they're the dogs bollocks all of a sudden.

Well this is a league game coming up and you're not in dreamland anymore. You're 16th in L2 and away at Carlisle.

Give them a moment, man!

I'd be absolutely basking in it if we were to make the QF of the FAC. And as much as I agree that Gregory can be too pessimistic, I'm expecting a far tougher game than the table suggests, especially with this sickness bug we're hearing about. Grimsby are no mugs, and our midfield will need to be at their sharpest tomorrow. Winning those second balls is going to be key.

Don’t know why Grimsby are going off on one saying ‘we are only one game from Wembley’

Weren’t Hartlepool in same position last season when they were saying ‘one game from Wembley’

And didn’t Sutton get there.

:lol:The part time thing was fun, and I admit I did over milk it, but we actually did go part time for a bit. Clibbens confirmed it in a club interview, it was for furlough reasons. Thankfully by the time the season kicked off we were back full time.

And just remember Toby, last time I was overly optimistic you bollocked me for it at full time after we lost.

It’s probably worth noting that this includes a handful of Colchester fans. Had we have been playing someone like Grimsby, there would be 23,000+ there.

Still believe we’ll achieve those figures at some point this season.
Playoff semi. Could be against our mob. Would be something else

Orient to win tomorrow.

Swindon plagued by injuries and we have a near full strength team.

El Mizouni, Moncur, Sadlier and Archibald is honestly frightening at times for this level.

And we've only conceded 1 goal in the last 10 home games.

Won't be a battering, 2 0 I reckon.

Certainly is. This cheap ticket mullarky is a bit of a smokescreen. Arses on seats at prices people can afford should be applauded - and copied.

implementing 'twenties plenty' would be a good start If it wasn't to the financial detriment of lower league clubs of course.

Heading off shortly to the smoke. Reckon it's going to be a 3-0 reverse unfortunately but going with hope over expectation to East London today.

We were one game away from Wembley in the frigging Pizza Cup, they are one game away from a Wembley appearance in an FA Cup Semi final, completely different stratospheres, they deserve to brag, gloat and pull their puds for as long as they like.

We had just stuffed Barrow 5-1 and were then up against bogey side Harrogate Town.
Funny how everyone except you saw a defeat coming from a mile away.

You think you're this great nostradamus at predicting and yet you just never get it right.

It's all set up for us to fail today.

Over 20,000 fans rocking up on the back of 2 good away wins and performances.

Playing a side we always seem to struggle to beat no matter league standings.

Come on you Chickens, reverse the trend of letting us down in front of a bigger crowd than usual and treat us to a comfortable victory

How do you know what I think?
I’ve never given any indication that I think I’m a great match predictor.

Oh and that everyone but me saw a defeat coming from a mile away simply isn’t true. Plenty of people fully expected us to roll Harrogate over.

Hopefully we both go up automatically and avoid each other in play offs. League 2 Northern powerhouses got to stick together!

Think despite what Carlisle fans think, whether we are on a high or not it's more likely to be a loss after Wednesday than a win. Long trips, fighting for our lives to hold onto a win then sore heads after winning!

Besides our LGE 2 season is almost over, very unlikely to go down and just as unlikely to trouble the play offs. Should be an easy Carlisle win.

I wonder how many Northampton will win by today?

We don't normally let in loads of goals (we'll done Carlisle) but it's normally 1 or 2.

It will be interesting to see if Jordan Mutch starts. I honestly don't expect him to set the world on fire but he is a midfielder and we only had 1 on the pitch on Tuesday.

On Grimsby, when we had our league cup final run ten years ago, I can’t remember many if any wins in the following league game, especially the further we progressed. After the Lord Mayors show or whatever the saying is.

Big game for Mansfield to respond after getting thrashed by Salford. Not very confident, not even been to train properly recently because we cannot afford anymore injuries and our squad today is at breaking point once again.

At Harrogate and I can confirm it is nowhere near as bad as some have made out.

Game pie was cracking too

Orsi is out, back is ok, stubbed his toe getting out of bed with a hangover on Thursday morning...

We've really rung the changes - 7 in fact, from the Soton starters. Back to an ultra conventional 4-4-2 as well.

Orient looking better than us, yet there are small signs of life. Unsurprisingly seeing we have no defenders their goal came from a corner. We may shithouse a draw but more likely to ship another 1 or 2.

Dreadful half of football at Harrogate - no injury time added says it all.

We’re wearing red (a nod to one of the clubs that merged to form Sutton United) and I’m confused. And it appears are our team. Crewe have one shot and are 1-0 up
