2 early kickoffs in the promotion hunt, we face a tricky away game at the home of Select Car Leasing, whereas Wrexham will presumably frolic to a routine grindy win v Burton.

I can see wins for most of the top 8 if I'm honest, though Reading and ourselves have a fair chance of cancelling each other out.

The ultimate motherlode of relegation dogfight football also happens today - Shrews v Cambridge, apparently liquid football purists have already gathered at the New Meadow by way of pilgrimage.

No idea really what will happen against Stockport. Sounds like doubts over Trevitt (who was our best player on Tuesday) and Mitchell, so attacking options might be limited.
But I think we are safe and would be nice to play some handbrake off football, though I'm sure Stockport will have something to say on that.

With the departure of Steve Evans (no option really if the owner wants to sell any season tickets for next season) the stay aways are expected to return to give Matt Hamshaw and Andy Warrington a big welcome back to the club.

The win at Northampton plus being awarded the Sky Bet League One Community Club of the season this week has restored something of the feel good factor back into the fans, so I expect the attendance to be up by 2 or 3 thousand against Blackpool.

Blackpool are on a bit of a roll so I would expect 1500 from them so it should be the best atmosphere at the stadium for some time.

Hopefully MH and AW will have instilled a bit more confidence and nous into the players, so despite all the injuries I'm hoping for a good game and at least a point.

We always lose at Shrewsbury, can't wait to have both of us level on points scrapping for the wooden spoon.

Both Cambridge and Shrews have shown in midweek you can compete with teams at the top end. I wonder who will out shit the other for how shit you both are! :D Hopefully Slops.

Trundling up to Stevenage tomorrow. A direct train from Three Bridges (the main line station in Crawley). I will probably have to put up with Arsenal fans as the train goes right by their stadium as well.

Looking forward to a good day out, one or two (gallons) beverages and fingers crossed for a decent result.

My one Ray of hope for staying up this season is we are somehow tied to Stevenage. We followed them up from the Conference. We followed them up from league two. We followed them down from league 1 and followed them back up to league one. Twilight Zone theme music plays.

Can't see us getting anything from Bolton. We seem to be incapable of playing any sort of organised progressive football away from home.

You say that but you dampened the excitement of Hurst's home return last year with Lyle Taylor scoring a couple. Maybe the same outcome for Appleton's first home game?

Think we may nick this one in a not-so classic bottom of the table clash in front of a low crowd. It is the designated armed forces day, so the match ball is coming in by helicopter again just before kick off.

Some people are planning on walking out on 29 minutes in protest at the chairman and the failed takeover. Doesn't seem to be widespread support for it after the initial flurry earlier in the week.

Completely forgot we won there last year, and I've done my best to erase Lyle Taylor from my memory too. Maybe that came as a job lot!

Hopefully the helicopter can get out of the vicinity before Loft gets a chance to trap the ball...

Is that something you can really protest? Either way feel for youse, it's clearly a grim situation.

He was dogshit for us, but to be fair he was coming back from a long time out, and we totally didn’t play to his strengths.

He is doing pretty well for Col U in fairness, 13 goals this season is nothing to be sniffed at, even if he is a petulant knob.

He did alright for us for about four or five games, in hindsight vital for keeping us up before Monk's disaster tenure began, and then completely lost his head and very much lived up to being a total knob.

Seems a good fit for shithouse type managers like they have, and I'm sure he'll bag against us next season if we do meet!

We started brightly v Reading but the game has petered out into stalemate and a draw is fair so far.

Wxm are obviously going to win given Burton had a man sent off on 10 mins so the onus is on us to get a result today, we’ll have to step up a gear to do it though and Dodds is typically too late and too cautious with his subs to positively affect the game.

We've done nothing even against 10, hopeless carry on so far. Burton are biggest team I've ever seen, all of them are like bodybuilders.

Burton keeper practically stationary there and Smith sprints into him. He does get to the ball first but don’t really understand what the keeper is meant to do.

I suppose the other side of that arguement is that he'd put himself in that position and hadn't got to the ball, so it was always going to be a foul. Definitely unfortunate, and Burton had defended so well- we didn't look like scoring at all up to that point. They've had the wind knocked out of them since the pen.

That said Crocombe was in goal for Grimsby when they beat us in the NL play offs a few years ago so sod him.

Missing our two best players and think we’re having to shift formation around as a result to a formation we’ve not looked great in this season

Missing Trevitt and Mitchell means a very negative line up, McMillan in midfield ffs. Can't see us scoring many if at all. Good job Burton lost.

Very poor.

We’re not coming back from this, it’s definitively advantage Wxm now and I can’t see us beating any playoff contender over 2 legs in the form we’re in right now.

Another season of L1 beckons - it is what it is. This is not over-reaction to today’s result, just our overall arc of the second half of the season.

Nice to see Burtons best player got himself sent off, that's 3 or 4 games (I think he has 2 reds now) he will miss. Just need us to do the business now which is the hardest part

Not seen either incident back so dunno if they were right or not. The gamesmanship and timewasting was beyond belief though so fuck them.

Game over, Stockport on top but second goal looked a clear offside.
This happens every week.

Not a good half for us, really missing Campbell down the wing. To top it off I’m having to listen to it on Lincoln commentary who are in disbelief that it’s only 1-0 and not more

Turns out the commentators were right. Concerning display for us and shows how much we rely on Lloyd Jones and Tyreece Campbell

This match has gone as expected.

Fortunately one of our centre backs has completed a thigh back to the keeper, so we can all go home happy.

Entertaining second half in the end. Changed our shape and looked miles better, bringing us back into the game. Referee somehow only added on 5 mins when it could easily have been 8 and then when time was wasted in the final 5 he ended up blowing early! Think that puts to bed our slim hope of top 2. Time to see out the season and consolidate our playoff place
