1-0 win for us, apparently our 20th goal from set pieces today (pens included) which is pretty staggering.
makes it even more amazing that you didn't score against us - set pieces are our biggest weakness.

You mean Jordan Lyden that was subbed off injured? We were very poor after our goal and Exeter I thought overall probably deserved the win. Horribly bad goal to concede from our perspective but no complaints really. Apart from our loan defenders who look great, Louie Barry has been poor so far and him and McKirdy is never going to work.

Poor to lose in front of a big crowd but I sense the team in toothpaste blue are likely to have a better shot at promotion than we are.
The crowd were on his back because of the two previous incidents. But it seemed the gameplan after you scored was to hold on and stop playing. Weird.
I think the subs were the difference. Nombe looked back to his best and if he can start in future matches we will definitely be up there.

Yeah I agree I don't think we were confident enough to press for a second and you were too good in the end to hold off. You got your reward for playing bravely and look a good side. Enjoyed the game overall apart from the result of course. The game at SJP should be a cracker.

Good game of proper football played given the windy conditions (I always thought Oldham was the coldest in the footy league - how wrong was I?! - see folks, I know its not often but I am wrong on occasions) back to the serious stuff, better team won, wind our way in the second half helped. Swindon will make play offs, but we're going to easily be top 3 with a fully fit squad back. FGR too far gone now, but we'll be close that's for sure. Second place all but confirmed in my eyes.

Pathetic capitulation after taking a just about deserved lead. Then, as usual, it all went to shit. No game management, no midfield worthy of the name. Our subs were the problem.

Garner has had it.
DESERVED LEAD HAHAHAHAHA, don't tell that to anyone at the game and certainly don't look at the shots & dangerous attacks comparison on bet365 at that point. Christ. That wind has got to your head. Brain freeze when you wrote that post? I'll forgive you if so

The little bits I saw I thought you looked decent. The number 30 was good and should have been awarded a pen.
Number 30 first game for 2 years only played. Because of an injury in the warm up to another player he was excellent today

Thought we edged the game against Tranmere and had three big chances to score. Although he missed two headers today, our new big man up front gives us a presence that we've been missing all season. Happy with the point though, given the wind totally ruined the footballing side of things.

Baffling that the Tranmere keeper kept trying to kick it long, despite it going out for a throw about 100 times.
16 shots to 7 and 5 on target to 2 in Rovers favour says different.

Up until we scored each side had had 1 shot on target each. You had a few wayward shots. Don’t get carried away beating us at home.

Did you actually watch the game or were you jerking off watching the Bet 365 stats.

Robbed by inept officials.

Though had we been more clinical that would have been immaterial.

Barrows match tactics involved shouting “handball” as often as possible and somehow got given a penalty when our right back chested it back to the Keeper.

Curiously no red for the barrow CB who pulled Hemmings down 25 yards from goal, nor was there a penalty when the barrow player made a great diving save about 12 yards out.

Dire conditions, though we grafted away, working very hard and much like every team before them, FGR aside, our opponents could have taken a month to score if the ref hadn’t gifted them one.

yep - obviously blind to his own teams play acting and constantly trying to con the ref by rolling around like South Americans at the world cup. Banks never touched the man when he was booked and Mellon has obviously told the team to try and get him sent off as he knows what a danger Banks can be.

A team could have 16 ineffective pot shots from 30 yards, and the other could have 2 or 3 golden chances to win it. Who looks like they dominated the game? The stats only tell half the story.

Anyway, I'll happily take the point and move on.

Second game this week we have conceded a 92nd minute equaliser!

Pissed off of Crawley

Ps: I hate this game sometimes.

A penalty and one save by the keeper is all you did attacking wise.

Apart from Amadi-Holloway's two headers that flashed wide and Rooney's shot that deflected wide - it was more than your lads mustered.

For what it's worth, these are the stats that best tell the story of the game.

I think he was referring to Connor Brown tugging their number 10 back - despite the fact Farman had it practically in his hands at that point.

I thought we were the better side over the ninety minutes and should have won the game. Barrow did have two good chances in the final ten minutes when the game opened up and we were chasing a second goal. However, in the first sixty we were completely untroubled, and without us giving away a very soft penalty I don't think they would have got back into it.

We did not create loads of chances, but I thought we played the better football and managed the conditions better. Hemmings had a virtual open goal in the first half, which would have ended the game had it been scored.

Anyway, other results were not too bad, so on to Tuesday night.

Fair play to FGR who keep marching on. Is this predominately Cooper's squad that Edwards is getting more out of, or a bit of a mix?

Five players left at the end of last season, at the end of their contracts, Smith (GK), Stokes (Def), Wagstaff (Mid), McCoulsky (Fwd) and Collins (Fwd)

Five came in at the start of this season, Hendry (Mid), Edwards (Mid), Stevenson (Mid), Diallo (Mid) and Aitchison (Fwd) on loan from Barnsley.

So, as the above suggests, there was no overhaul of the squad...which probably wasn't needed for a team that just missed out in the play-offs...but a bit of tweaking and the addition of a midfield.

Edwards identified areas that all of the squad could improve on and set about bringing the best out of them, but at the same time seemingly freeing them from the constraints placed on them by Cooper, and oh boy is it paying dividends.

When you have a seasoned pro like Jamille Matt talking about Edward's approach and seeing it as a positive then I think it gives an idea of how well things are going...it could have course been quite different if the players hadn't bought into what he wanted to do...fortunately for everyone they did, the level of performance and results are all we need to judge.

Exhausting day, feared we were on for a battering going down 1-0 after 5 minutes and 2 shortly after but we battled hard in the second half and played with pride, giving their keeper a few shots to save, it seems like a daft thing to say and plainly obvious but they were just galaxies ahead of us, the tiniest of mistakes latched on and they just play keep ball like the Harlem Globetrotters.

All in all we’ve had a good run and made a decent bit of coin out of today, play a bit more expansive in the league and we’ll be fine this season.

The goals we conceded were very disappointing to be honest, completely snuffed the life out the game. Thought first half we were garbage really but the first touch, pace, range of passing and organisation isn't something we come up against in L2. Second half we at least had a few shots but we can't score in L2 let alone get one against a decent Premier side. Drawing someone like Palace, not a massive club and little to play for in the league they were always gonna take it serious. We can at least hold our heads high but if Palace wanted they could've had 5 or 6. Never about the result really, been a good cup run. Still in one competition, let's do Rotherham and get to Wembley.
