Morison should be calling it out as well though, he’s got the result now so what’s the point in keeping up the charade & give the EFL the chance to justify the decision. It’s an absolutely dreadful decision and is the result of officials getting away with it without any consequences. An opposing manager calling that out would go a long way after a game IMO, I’d expect Artell to do the same thing in the circumstances.
Managers never call out a decision that go their way at all really ?

Just say it’s about one did or something

Or the ref was bad for both teams etc .

Very true, all we have is 1 FA Cup and 1 European title to our name, 94 and 95 were such great years. Impressive no doubt but our big brother neighbours have the better of us on that score.

Still they can never take them away.
The Anglo-Italian Cup. Prestige.

Just checking has any club not had at least one horrific decision by the officials go against them this season?
I'm sure everyone has, I don't there are any Town fans claiming otherwise. I don't think there have been (m)any decisions as scandalous as the one we had against us on Saturday that have come in the 85th minute of end of season 6 pointers though.
Nope. Only Grimsby it seems
We've had other bad decisions go against us this season but as we've pointed out already, it's the fact that the lino took it upon himself to reassert himself after the dressing down he took off the ref in the first half. Laugh that off all you want but that's almost certainly what has happened here.

Let's also not lose sight of Clifton getting absolutely flattened in the box right at the end and as the ref called the physio on he also blew up for full time, denying us a penalty for absolutely no explicable reason whatsoever.

The Anglo-Italian Cup. Prestige.

Prestige indeed but only for those representing the 2nd tier in the 1990s in both England and Italy respectively. Looks like we were the only English side to win it that decade. Some quality players on show and Devon White.

As Championship and Serie B clubs were invited to participate not something Wrexham AFC were involved in, obviously.

As you and Town fans know usually roughly evens itself out of the season.

It's happened, you move on, Artell uses it as fuel to beat MK midweek and then it won't end up mattering in the grand scheme of things. It'll just be another awful result changing injustice that we all witness every single season.

As fun as the Anglo-Italian Cup was you can't claim it as a European title with a straight face.

Of course not, although it's without doubt the closest we will ever get. It's not everyday you get to witness beating a team with a world cup winner in it, and get beat by a team containing Romania's greatest ever footballer at Wembley stadium.

It was merely the perfect response to Nottingham F*rests' 1 league title win and 2 European title wins being surprisingly brought into the conversation by your Wrexham colleague.

The FA cup victory still counts though, right?

Yeah you're golden on the FA Cup.

Don't get me wrong back in the 90s I'd have loved us to be in the Anglo Italian cup, loved Football Italia on C4 so it had a real air of romance about it. I caught the tail end of our European adventures (missed the hey day unfortunately) when we always had to play the youth team because we qualified as a Welsh team and could only have three foreign (English) players so it wasn't quite the same. Losing 1 nil. on aggregate to FC Petrolul Ploiesti wasn't quite as glamorous.

Our stint in the Anglo Italian Cup also brought us some fantastic memories against European stalwarts such as Barnsley, Leicester and Middlesbrough.
Seem to remember beating Newcastle in it one year I think it was the year they destroyed the Championship.
It meant we only needed a draw from our last game to get to the round where the Italians came in and of course we lost.

Three European champions (Anglo Italian Cup) in this league currently, Notts, Swindon and Sutton.
Four if you count us.

Because we beat Southampton last year.
Southampton beat Man City last year.
Man City won the European Cup last year.

So that basically counts as a European title for us too right?

We should have a star on our shirt to reflect that superb European victory over Ascoli. Particularly sweet after suffering a deserved defeat to a talented Brescia the year before.

And that is where our interest in cup competitions sadly ended.

Congratulations to Sutton and Swindon also, fab achievement.

He’s called it a stonewall penalty though, how on earth does that help anybody? Take the bit of luck with some grace and hope it maybe aids the thing we all want, better decisions.

You make it sound like a bit of human error, the linesman’s flagged for something from miles away, you have to be certain you’ve seen it from there and he can’t have been, because it hasn’t even happened.

Artell has now received an apology for the decision, fat load of good that is.
surprised at the apology, I’d assumed the Refs Association just closed ranks.

Sensible that they don’t issue apologies in the NL - that would need to be outsourced to India to cope…

That defence is making him look a turkey and Langstaff has missed a couple of chances at crucial times that he'd tuck away when he's on a roll. I'm pretty sure he'll get sacked before the season ends but I'm less sure that it will be the cure all fans think.
Whatever happens, Montague our recruitment chief needs to do better than this seasons 3 or 4 out of 12 success rate .

I am struggling to put any real blame on Maynard at all to be honest - Saturday was by no means vintage, but we were in total control of the game for 75 minutes. We never really looked like conceding and Langstaff missed two chances of the sort that he's been putting away without thinking during his entire time here. Then our one sort-of-competent-most-of-the-time centre back goes off injured, and the only option to replace him comes on and twats a header into his own net under no pressure at all. I'm not sure what the poor bloke is meant to be doing about any of that tbh.

I agree but it's a majority view. Most fans wouldn't want any of our keepers and only two of our defenders for next season but Maynard is carrying the can for them.

Don’t get me wrong the jury is still well out, but he’s been hideously unlucky. I actually think he’s probably done the main thing we wanted when he came in and stopped us being so open and conceding on the counter attack constantly, it just doesn’t matter because our defenders are so bad they keep just doing ridiculous stuff to concede goals that no amount of coaching is going to solve.

I agree with whoever said that the constant messing around with formations to try and stop the disaster at the back has taken away a lot of our attacking potency though. There’s no point doing anything from here on in than 3-5-2 with Jones and Nemane as wing backs and try and win every game 5-4 like Williams was doing. The defence simply can’t be salvaged.

That’s the penalty incident from the same sort of angle the linesman had btw

So the linesman did have a view of Harry Smith’s judo throw on Doug Tharme

The one after the handball?

Saying that a Grimsby player pretty much had Smiths shirt off in the first half so I’m guessing they were letting that kind of thing go.

If we are talking about beating a team with one World Cup winner in it, Mansfield beat one with THREE World Cup winners in it.

The picture you posted show he's already been thrown over by the time the ball makes contact with the defender
