Sam Stubbs a doubt for Saturday and with his injury record I'd be amazed if he was risked.

We are fucked because it means Taylor will definitely play.

I’m surprised Colchester is seen as nice…

What kind of hellholes are you guys living in?
Spent many a year living in meanee Barracks and seen all over Colchester....lovely place....granted most of it was spent in the Wagon and Horses

Went there for Forest vs Brighton last season with a mate. Was led to believe on one of these away day guide sites that it was an away bar, only to walk into a sea of red! Great pub though (Beer garden in particular) and no trouble from anyone.
As a student there, I can definitely see the appeal for an away day, loads of good pubs of varying types in a condensed space, the grounds are nearby and if you wanna make a night of it you're spolit for choice.

Would even say that if you are going Mansfield its better if you stop off in Notts before and after the game. as I found out from some travelling Gillingham fans.

Top tip. Better surrounds, better pubs.

Definitely avoid in a night out in Mansfield. I've only done it twice and it was like going back in time in every way.

Shudder.

By the time you visit this season our new 2 million quid Fan Park should be open although at this stage it`s not been announced whether away fans will be allowed in but as they were allowed in the "tent" I can`t see why not.
Looks big now that first main arches are up.

There's a reason why most of our Northern towns and cities are classed as shitholes but the common denominator isn't any fault of our own.

Apologies for the politics I've probably had one to many on my holiday!

Tbh it’s not northern based, look at newport, gillingham, colchester to start, even worse - the same dump just a more expensive pint

With the rain around on Saturday, will there be any tin pot grounds that can’t stand the deluge?

Grimsby had a game called off last season in August.

New drainage and new pitch over the summer so the theory is that shouldn’t happen this time

Lightning threat for us according to the beeb. Certainly wouldn’t want to be under our tin in a thunderstorm!

We had a game called off last August against Accrington following heavy rain. I'd not entirely rule that out as a possibility this Saturday....

Really looking forward to seeing us in action, I’ve not felt this positive about a season in years so it’s all set up to be a disappointing defeat and being sent hurtling back down to earth.

We’ve got what looks like a very tough start based on early season predictions as well as a few injuries already, so it’s vital we make the most of an opening day home fixture, 2-0.

I don't know whether Stockport gets it any better than Sale does, but given it's about 4 junctions down, I dare say not  It's right doing me in

Our pitch is superb now all year round, took some money like.

You have the added advantage of one less stand allowing more natural light coverage of the playing surface. That's gotta help.

Seeing a fine looking pitch post winter is still a bit of a shock to me Marvellous Meadow Lane.

I'll take this over last summer's heatwaves any day of the week

I'm in Mossley a bit further round the M60. Can confirm this part of GM is just as saturated. It's been monsoon like for weeks.

It's nice in Shropshire, weathers not great but the actual county is lovely, reminds me of Lincolnshire, but without the 'huge skies'.

Rumour is that Croasdale is out injured which means we’re screwed.
