Bit of extra incentive for us today after last night's result. We can go all out for the win knowing we still have a chance next week if we don't win, should make for an entertaining game with Newport needing a win too.

Complete nothing game for both us and Grimsby today so not much else to say really other than am hopeful with them they seem to be well placed to make a challenge straight away and bounce back (certainly more than many teams who’ve gone down anyway). Wouldn’t mind seeing us give the young keeper Scott a go now for the remaining two games see if he is worth a contract or not. Same for giving Campbell-Gordon a go.

Oh yay, there is now a competition of how hard its been to support our dogshit teams over the last 20 years. Mainly downs with dodgy owners and financial worries but a couple of really great times, play off Semi wins mainly - pointless in the grand scheme of things when you don't turn up to the final!!

Whilst in theory it's actually quite interesting on paper, unlike the how big a football team is, or how well supported they are bollocks that always tends to rise up from the ashes of landfill, these chats almost always end in childish mud slinging. And for that reason I'm out.

I thought so. To be fair to you Masi, some of what you post can be quite grating but fair play your passion for your football club isn't in question. And Bolton have probably fallen more than most on here. That's not to say its any easier or harder to support them than say Mansfield or Grimsby or whomever.

Bolton have had it shit for a while - but not as shit as, say, Luton who ended up in the Conference after a succession of deductions. It’s hard enough to take when your team is just plain shit, but when the combination of nefarious owners and FA/EFL points deductions hit you’ve got no chance.

A situation I’m praying we avoid at the moment.

Might be about to get a bit better. Son of boohoo’s billionaire owner (from Bolton) and who has an investment group, property group and owns Pretty Little Thing hopefully investing... well we can live in hope that’s what it is anyway.

Reckon we will be on the beach this afternoon. Hoping we will make a couple of changes and give Dimitri Sea a full game up top, he's looked decent in the brief substitute appearances he's made.

Would be appropriate to give Sea a game if you are on the beach...

yes i can see why you think that.....A lot what i have wrote is not against teams but people who support them
The Tranmere thing i never ever understood.
Grimsby is a team i hope soon return
And Exeter was just banter between Devon lad and myself

We have all had ups and downs and at 5pm this evening another one way or another will be added to the list

Don’t give a shit about the result really. All I’m hoping is some of the young fringe players that are going to be here next season get a run out.

Boohoo is generally what you say when you have to put an item of their clothing on. A discussion for another day but there is definitely something dodgy about those cheap, poor quality clothing brands.

Yay the revolving door of billionaires, 'property investors' and local boys done good. What could possibly go wrong...

When you say: "if your team's been through all that you take the good times", it implies it has been so miserable/mundane that you'll celebrate anything.

But it hasn't, you've just described Wembley finals, promotion-winning seasons, good cup runs and scalps, League Cup final and semis, FA Cup semis, UEFA Cup campaigns. Far more exciting than most of us have had. I've been going to Colchester for 23 years and have seen one promotion, two relegations and about 18 completely nondescript seasons.

Think since I've been going I've seen 3 promotions, about to be 4 relegations, 2 play-off wins and 3 LDV defeats.

Can't complain. Lot of shit but the good stuff makes it worthwhile.

And if you get promoted then fair play, it's fully deserved. League 1 next season potentially has quite a few decent sized clubs. Shame we're back here in Div 4 but it's where we deserve to be. Just looking forward to getting back into pubs and stadia, regardless of who we are playing.

Talking about seeing your team being relegated and promoted, I have just had an add up

Seven relegations
three championships
three other promotions
a Wembley cup final win on penalties
a play off final defeat on penalties
there other play off semi final defeats (one on penalties)
and a Wembley cup final defeat in the 120th minute.

So nineteen seasons with some excitement, but way way more of just mid table boredom.

Today first time I have sat in my seat since Scunthorpe at home last season! Nice event. Got my scarf and book for keeping money in plus a personally signed card from Carol. (And my name on a huge flag next season)

Don’t disagree to be honest. I think we need to work towards the 50+1 model anyway in professional football. Too many dodgy owners

As I said above I think moving towards the 50+1 model is the best way longer term. Or some sort of fan model anyway. We’ve had our fair share of dodgy. The fact people may want to invest in us is a huge development from a few years ago when we nearly went out of business completely.

We’ve gone strongest line up possible which is a surprise.

Montano in for the injured Gibbons, Devante Rodney back from injury for Swann.
