Ste it is a tinpot league...........Harrogate have just stopped a team gaining automatic Promotion with basically there reserve team Reason they play there FA Trophy final game that was carried over from last year
And we got battered by Grimsby who are bottom of the league and relegated... does that make us tinpot too?

No it was just a bad day at the office
The fact that anybody can beat anybody means it is a quite even league.
The tinpot comes from Newport not playing home games because they share a Rugby Pitch
Mansfield furloughing ground staff making there pitch unplayable
Barrow for putting players on furlough then being allowed to sign others
Then tonight Harrogate putting that team out to play a non league Final

Fair enough. I agree that league 1 with the likes of Sunderland, potentially Derby/sheff wed etc is a big step up. I think tinpot is a bit strong. I spent years watching Penrith locally and they’re 9th tier I think. Now that is tinpot.

not having a go at Cambridge, they caught you on a off night plus they proberbly had a advantage as they were not leg weary like most div 2 teams at this time
It didn’t help the team bus turned up at 6pm.
Left Cambridge at 2pm on a BH weekend. Madness!!

To be fair to you we also gave Cheltenham a good going over earlier in the season too.

Absolute embarrassing tonight. Can forgive all the defensive shit once we get to 4-4, but we then sat back, inexcusable.

We are done, we're getting nothing next week as we cannot beat crap teams at home, and at least one of the other two will won both.

Onto the playoffs, which we will lose, and then the slide begins.

Great opportunity this afternoon for Cheltenham to wrap up title with convincing win over Newport and perhaps bring smiles to the faces of FGR supporters after their win v Tranmere.
Go Gloucestershire, go. :2thumb:

Off the Vale Park for the thank you weekend for fans who left money in, then get back in time for Grimsby away.

Should be a nice day and hopefully follow it up with win 9 in 10 games. Toughy though as they’ve not been in bad form in recent weeks.

In terms of major trophies you have lost 2 League Cup finals. Tranmere Rovers Oldham Athletic and Bradford City have lost one each.
Not that great in summary is it.

I agree I’m panicking now haha
I have been supporting Tranmere for far too long to expect us to do anything in terms of giving us hope for last day excitement, so i am 100% relaxed about it all.

But you forget who your opponents are today...a team doing its best to avoid the stress of the play-off's...what could go wrong, other than football!

Been through all that ffs?

Have a look at GTFC’s history for the last 20 years and then you will know what suffering is really like.
From Championship to non league then 5 years of absolute shite in League 2 before going back to non league.
You don’t have a fucking clue what suffering is pal.

In all honesty i thought Exeter would gain one of the automatic places pre Christmas
Big call by Taylor to leave both Jay and Bowman on the bench midweek
We will see which Exeter turns up.
No excuses we have two even three bites at the cherry

never said anything about suffering, just said its a roller coaster of a ride
Seen us win at Old Trafford Anfield and been to Europe against Bayern, Athletico and Marseille
Then i have seen us getting Hammered in the cup Semi final by Stoke, Cheated in the play offs by a bent referee
Had players walk of the team bus and refuse to travel.
Seen the team put into administration and deducted points.
No i dont think Grimsby have been through the same emotions.....Though losing your football league place is as bad as it gets

Yep, you'll lose next week drop out of the top 3, lose in the playoffs, slide down the leagues and end up getting smashed 5-0 by Histon again....

Either that or you'll win next week and seal promotion.

When you say: "if your team's been through all that you take the good times", it implies it has been so miserable/mundane that you'll celebrate anything.

But it hasn't, you've just described Wembley finals, promotion-winning seasons, good cup runs and scalps, League Cup final and semis, FA Cup semis, UEFA Cup campaigns. Far more exciting than most of us have had. I've been going to Colchester for 23 years and have seen one promotion, two relegations and about 18 completely nondescript seasons.

Yes you are correct, twice getting relegated to non league means we have been through much worse.

Non league is the pits, I hope we never lose our proud record of NEVER being relegated out of the football league, couldn't stand watching all those tinpot clubs playing week after week....

But that is relevant to your teams standing
you have exited the league recently and i would have you as favs to return under Hurst
The are teams out there or was who have been through worse than either of us....Bury for one
