Tbh I had a feeling the previous couple of days that McInnes would remain at Aberdeen. He's done a very decent job at Aberdeen & I personally would have liked him at Ibrox but it wasn't to be. Good luck to him in whatever he does from here on onwards. Yeah, the saga that lasted for around 6 weeks was conducted by the media....Rangers made no announcement, made no statement that McInnes was being considered...ALL down to the media. If Rangers had mentioned McInnes, straightaway they would have been accused of trying to 'Tap Up' the Aberdeen boss. Then, of course, was the double header against Aberdeen and if Rangers had even mentioned McInnes' name you can imagine the uproar from the media, Aberdeen FC and of course there fans. So imo, it was wise to leave it until these two games were done and dusted. As for Aberdeen fans laughing at Rangers....they'll need to find a good sense of humour after last Wednesday & Sunday when they were given a lesson both home and away....wonder how many were laughing after these results?
As for them hating us....that won't be a problem as shown with their lovely chant during the game at Pittodrie....

Who's that lying on the stairwell,
Who's that lying on the floor,
66 Huns in scarves and flares,
Lookin ****ed up oan the stairs,
and they'll no be goan tae Ibrox anymore

Quaint eh ? Wee cheerful ditty about 66 football supporters who died leaving the stadium. I was there that day and missed being caught up in the carnage by seconds so excuse me if I say that the 'hate' comment is as obnoxious a comment I have seen for some time!

I saw that was claimed last week, but no-one was able to provide any evidence it actually happened & not one single Aberdeen fan heard it. Do you have any or are you just repeating what you heard without checking?

That tune is used for the Durrant song, which is in poor taste - as a lot of football songs are if you look at them from outside, but football is tribal. There was a debate about that song, because people actually heard it sung & opinion is divided.

Of course, Rangers don't have any songs that are offensive, so you are able to claim the moral high ground...

I heard the offensive chant live whilst watching the game....not from anyone else....I actually heard it being sung. If that's not good enough for you there's not a lot I can do apart from saying that you're calling me a liar. Not ONE Aberdeen fan heard it ? Have you done a poll or is it basically people you know....what an idiotic statement to make. As for using the excuse that football is 'tribal' as an means to not criticise is actually pretty disgusting when the song being sung is glorifying and mocking the death of football supporters. If such a chant isn't considered offensive or sickening by yourself then it says a lot more about you than it does me.

Moral high ground...........before you make childish, idiotic statements like that towards me I suggest you check your facts before opening your arse and letting your belly rumble. I have openly admitted that there is a moronic element within the Rangers support.....as there is within any club's support....even the one whose support claim they never heard what I did!

Well apparently the performance at Ibrox left a lot to be desired but 3 points are 3 points and keeps us in 2nd place for the time being but that may change on Wednesday next when we go to Easter Road to play a Hibs team who must be full of confidence after the 2-2 draw yesterday at home to Celtic. Coming back from two goals down was some feat and overall it was a great game for the neutral to watch. MOTM for me was John McGinn of Hibs.

We live in the age of smartphones, social media and clickbait tabloid press. If there was any evidence to back this up then it would be all over the internet.

At the height of the McInnes saga last week there were more than 1200 guests reading one thread on an Aberdeen forum & a lot of provocation from both sides when it looked like McInnes was away and then when he stayed. I only saw the one side, but there were some very deliberate attempts to goad the Rangers fans they knew were watching, with references to Durrant, Ricksen etc. Nothing that's not ignorable if you don't want to get involved, but the majority of people do love nothing more than point scoring online and all these things were all over social media and got picked up by the Daily Record & quite a few newspapers. There were screenshots, linked tweets, videos & was quite a typical tabloid report on football fans - full of outrage whilst quoting every idiot in full for a wider audience to be offended by.

To have heard this from the away end of the stadium to the home end, this song would have needed to be sung by a large group of people at quite a volume. Literally tens of thousands of people, with a very legitimate grievance and all armed with smartphones, would be witnesses, but there's been no mention of it at all, beyond one claim on a forum (and now you). Forgive me for being sceptical, but in the last few years quite a lot of ills have been caused by people seeing something they're offended by and passing it on without checking that's it true. Especially given the heightened emotions, claims and counter claims between the two sides recently, I don't think it's unreasonable to question this before condemning, especially given the above factors.

More generally, yes, football is tribal. I don't believe that the majority of bigoted rubbish that passes in the present day between the old firm is based on theological principles. It's done because it's ingrained that that's how each side behaves. A large chunk of Aberdeen fans that sing about Durrant's injury weren't even born when it happened - they do it because it always provokes a reaction. The eminently sensible thing to do in that position is not react - most people seem to go the other way though, and that's why it'll continue.

Bought a ticket for this a few months ago as I thought it would be a good game & a good atmosphere under the lights. The league positions, previous matches between these sides and Sunday's comeback should make it an absolute belter though.

Scottish footy fans, you reckon Louis Moult can do the business for us?

I don't know much about him I have to say.

Personal opinion ? Yeah....I believe he could. He's a very decent, strong player....not only as a central target man but he has good skill and is a great header of the ball. He knows where the goals are mate.

I reckon he could. He seems to score all sorts of goals and he's done it regularly for Motherwell even when they were struggling last season.

I'd imagine he wouldn't be too expensive either, probably £400k at the very most and he's from Staffordshire, which is closer to Preston than Motherwell is!

I'm going to hold my hands up re this one as it looks like I've misheard what the song chanted was. I can't find what I claimed so I've obviously misheard when it was the Ian Durrant (disgusting) song. Believe me, I don't go looking for offence but on occasion I draw the line in what I actually would say/sing and the same applies to what I hear especially when I have personally heard (previously) 'We all agree the Ibrox disaster was magic'. I apologise for saying you called me a liar.

All I can say about last night's game at Easter Road is....3 points is 3 points. Hibs were the far better team but you have to take your chances when the come up. We got lucky with a Hibs penalty claim but some you get, some you don't. Rangers also had a couple of glaring opportunities (Morelos especially with a header) but failed to capitalize on them.

And on to Saturday where we were up against St Johnstone at home. I was really confident about this one thinking at least a 3 goal win....boy, did that blow up in my face. Took the lead early doors then proceeded to throw the game away. By all accounts we were dire. Can't get my head around this team. Playing excellent one minute, albeit it was backs to the wall against Hibs, then total shite when you expect the good form to continue.

And Celtic's domestic unbeaten run is over due to a surprise 4 goal (4-0) defeat at Tynecastle. Celtic were given a doing. The run had to end some time but I honestly didn't expect to be in such a fashion.

Aye they were utter wank. The wee Hearts lad Cochrane looks a real prospect though.

Surprised Rangers got gubbed in the way they did since the form they've been in of late.

Dundee won at least relieving the pressure for this week anyway.

I heard 1971 myself.
But who would have thunk that the SPL would be less predictable than the EPL this season eh?
That was a great goal by Cochrane to set Hearts on their way.

First League win at Ibrox since 1971...Saints won by the same score there in the League cup in 2015.

Tbh mate...I'm bemused. I get the feeling that deep down it has been accepted that we're going nowhere this season and Murty is the cheap option. From what I've seen so far he isn't the guy to step up to the job. He's a youth coach who has had to step in but although there has been a few decent results and performances the inconsistency is appalling. That show yesterday was disgraceful....no guts, no skill, no fuck all. The Killie plastic pitch is disgraceful but in no way am I using that as an excuse. Overall I'm just going to take things as they come. Second place in the league ? They'll be lucky to get third.

Killie getting Mulumbu is a bit of a coup for them, he was the best player on the best. Killie looked transformed since Clarke has taken over.

2-0 win at home against Motherwell last night. Ryan Jack had to be stretchered off due to a horrific challenge by Kipre on him. Wonder if there will be as much talk about this challenge and the injury received as there was for Jack's on Stevie may a few weeks ago ? Somehow I imagine the Scottish media will sweep it.

ach, run of the mill linesman decision up here.

As for the technology....won't be up and running any time soon....SFA & SPFL say it is unaffordable.

Tbh I was pleasantly surprised that they played as well as they did. I really was expecting a trouncing but once again they upped their appetite and desire and everybody put a shift and a half in....apart from Kranjcar....what a lazy bastard that is. The game totally passed him by and he had no effect/impact whatsoever. People may say Celtic were poor & off the pace but that was because we didn't allow them to play as they normally do. Yeah, we had some excellent chances to score but Gordon made a few great saves as did Foderingham. Overall we will be happier with the result than Celtic especially with the effort that was put in. Question begs though.....why was said effort not apparent last week at Kilmarnock?

Considering recent OFs I was more than happy with that performance. We looked dangerous in a way we've not for a while and caused Celtic problems all over the pitch. If we can get some consistency now please...!
