Andy Robertson, Scotland captain. Nice ring to that hasn't it! Well done the lad, really delighted for him. Shows what perseverance can do.

I see Alan Stubbs has left St Mirren already after just 87 days in charge

Read their forum to see the reaction and fair to say they were pretty happy!

Had a poor run as manger down here too.

Anyone tell me what involvement Mike Ashley has with Rangers as he lent them a shed load of money a few months back?

A Few months ago ? Nup, sorry RB but any monies due via loans to Ashley was repaid (a £5 mill loan) at the end of 2015. He has sold his shareholding & Rangers have also paid to get back the rights to trademark items (please don't ask me what all of these entails). They have also paid around £3mill to get out of that disastrous retail contract (which saw the club get only 7p from every pound of sales) awarded by a previous board. The only connection is a new re-arranged retail contract with Sports Direct which has far more benefit for the club than the previous one. I'm not sure how long that lasts. It is the result of a lengthy court case regarding the sale of our new kits.

Yeah, I agree with that. Since his move south from Dundee Utd he has done excellently.

Going by radio phone ins from fans it was obvious they wanted him out. Having said that, from a personal point of view, I was surprised that it has been so soon. Still, I'd imagine the club want to get someone in as soon as possible to help revive them and giving whomever the greatest part of the season to do that.

Well if you've extricated yourselves from the grip of that tyrant that's got to be positive for you. Where did the money come from to pay him back ~~~ Wonga?

Anyone arguing St. Mirren acted too soon in this respect don't quite have a full grasp of the situation.

He came into a club and team on the up having just had an excellent Championship winning season, and alienated just about everyone within the club - key players and backroom staff - as well as contributing to poor recruitment and dire results on the pitch.

Such was the extent of the destruction there are only 3 possible scenarios at play:

1) He did it intentionally to get a pay off (one years wages is what is being touted). At the expense of whatever reputation he still had, but he might have enough money anyway and being a pundit is a far easier gig.

2) He's a bit dense and was trying tactics such as telling the players to hand their medals back in (a la Brian Clough) or trying Fergie esque aggressive motivation tactics. Given it didn't really work for either of them - Clough sacked, Ferguson had to apologise for criticising Aberdeen players after cup win - and, to state the obvious, he didn't quite have the cache of either of those mangers.

3) There is something else rotten in the club, that isn't Stubbs or his backroom staff, but this was conspicuously absent during the entire Jack Ross reign.

It looks like Oran Kearney will be getting the job which is quite a good decision. Hope he does well.

Somewhat unique situation, I've never seen a potential manager criticised for who his father in law is.

It looks like his spell in charge of the Buddies was almost as disastrous as his time in charge of Rotherham Utd!

Well that was a great training match for Belgium. No doubt Juste will say Scotland played like Titans unleashed and if things had have gone our way, we'd have smashed them 8 - 0.

Saw most of the second half yeah. Apparently we weren't bad in the first, but the second was beyond drivel mate. We really are on a road to nowhere (someone should do a song called that. ;) ).

Albania tonight then, lets see how they do (or more likely don't) perform in the first Nations League match.

Have definitely become that with Scotland. Never used to be like that, even when we've had guff players and managers in the past; but this time is different. We had a shot at changing it up, but the dinosaurs at the SFA thought otherwise and appointed a bampot.

Clearly not. Who needs rivals when supposed "fans" take great delight when the team loses to a far superior opponent, and then dismisses our chances before our next game.

As it was, Albania are a decent side who won in Portugal not long ago and qualified for the 2016 Euros. And we dominated them from start to finish - a 2-0 defeat flatters them, it could and should have been a lot more.

Is Saltire happy? No, he will be devastated. Fans like him, and Scotland is shockingly full of them, are only happy when the team is doing badly. It's a fairly unique footballing culture, people in Brazil liked to complain but nothing compares to Scottish fans and media in my experience.

If we do well we are only 'papering over the cracks'.

We are unbeaten in our last 7 competitive games, winning 5 and drawing away to Slovenia and home to England (where they got a last minute equaliser).

So yeah, horrible, worst team ever etc.

We were playing Albania, at home. If we couldn't do a job against them, we've got no hope at all. We've been put into a group that is our standard, and I don't see anything to suggest we can rise up a level or two under McLeish and his prehistoric football methods.

Bingo.

Even though Albania were being built up before the match as a decent side (which their recent record and playing squad clearly shows) ever since losing to Scotland they are dismissed as no hopers.

You couldn't make it up. If Scotland beat France Saltire would insist they weren't trying, are over the hill, not that good anyway.

"Papering over the cracks".

That will be 5 wins and 2 draws in our last 7 competitive games.

Read it and weep you self hating Scot.
