Despite our wins on the road this year, our defeats have been fairly abysmal. I can only really see Macclesfield winning this one, not because of some superstitious belief that them being winless makes them somehow more likely to end that run against us, just because we're that bad. Doubts must be creeping in by now, and we've not exactly steamrollered teams away from home, I just feel our luck will run out on Saturday.

Speaks to how shit this entire division is this season though that we're somehow only two points from the playoffs. Can't get my head round that one. We didn't have a rip-roaring start exactly, just won more games than we expected to, and found ourselves fourth at one point. Three successive home defeats without scoring and statistically the worst team in the entire division and yet still in the top half. Kind of says to me that Macclesfield can't be as bad as the table makes them look and probably won't be any easier as opponents than Tranmere, or Grimsby or Morecambe or Bury were.

We're taking that record and no one can stop us.

Can you win asap because we all know what will happen if you don't win by the pre Xmas weekend! The team it began against will end it.

No no and no Shoddy. Need I remind you lot that as one of the three CUFCs you've got to do your best to help out your fellow brothers that make up this prestigious group.

Shoddy I don’t want to further dampen your spirits, but it’s actually 4 successive home defeats without scoring.

With our away form and their overall form, we should be winning this one.

However, if the Carlisle United that have turned up to recent home games turn up at moss rose, it’s going to be a comfortable victory for Macclesfield.

Our problem is we have such a shit, toothless front line with zero creativity in the middle or out wide, meaning to get a result we have to defend well and dominate the midfield area. That’s sometimes tricky because we’re not actually that good defensively. Other teams’ wastefulness has at times really helped us with some results.

We’re definitely in a false position in terms of quality of our squad. We are relegation standard but find ourselves mid table. Long may that continue but surely sooner or later the league table will start to tell the truth.

As for the game, I’m going, but I’m dreading it. The performance last weekend was so terrible that I’m convinced this is the weekend where we’ll come unstuck away from home. Plus we have a terrible record at Macclesfield. The last time I was there we had a fucking quality team riding high in the league with the likes of Michael Bridges, yet got spunked all over 3-0.

I predict a 1-0 defeat and the first question marks over Sheridan from certain fans.

2-1 comeback win seeing as we’re not playing at home and I’m not there.

I'm more confident than in previous weeks. We desperately need 2 wins from these next home games.

Just seen our lineup and I feel sick looking at it.

Congratulations on your win, Macclesfield.

So that's Kennedy, Fryer, Grainger, Devitt, Hope, Liddle and now Parkes all fucking injured unless I've missed anyone else.

We are going to be left with a bunch of lightweight inexperienced kids playing for us.

Yeah but you've a guy called "Jerry" upfront - that's the worst thing going for you.

And we're losing to a team with Jerry in it.

The record is ours.

we're so shit it's unbelievable. We were 1-0 up, I went to the toilet, came back and we were 2-1 down, and I wasn't even especially surprised.

our owners need to come out, put there hands up and say 'its our fault the club has sank this low and we're going to be open with the fans from now on and tell you exactly what we're doing to find new owners'

I'm genuinely pleased that Cheshire neighbours Macclesfield have broken their duck and avoided that awful longest w/o win sequence in FL. I hope you can go on a run and start climbing the table. BTW are our ex-players Lloyd and Durrell still at Macc?

Yes but both have been injured since last season.

Carlisle, how could you :(

Credit where it's due, Mac had the strength to dig deep and avoid the record... I'm just glad it wasn't against us!

Got what we deserved. Fuck all. That was an utterly pathetic performance. But sadly just what you expect from this group of players. It really isn’t their fault that they are so talentless and badly out of their depth at this level.

Is it registering yet, Carlisle fans? Is it finally hitting home that this shower of shit realistically could go down. I’ve been saying all along that relegation is a huge possibility for this team, such is the lack of quality in key areas. But people have been blinded by some of the results that have fell kindly for us. To me we’ve always looked like a squad destined for a relegation battle. We are shite, we have a squad full of shit with an absolutely pathetic attack. Losing and being outplayed by teams down the bottom who are expected to struggle tells the story for me. I just hope once we do get fully dragged into it (which will be soon), we have enough or can get enough in January to survive. Relegation would be an absolute disaster under this regime.

Sheridan’s recruitment over the summer has been garbage. Failure to address the huge issue of having such a shit forward line has been criminal. The full back areas are an issue as well but the striker situation shoujd he priority. He needs to sort it out in January if we are going to stay/get out of trouble.

you don't half like pretending that you're the only United fan who can see warning signs. Have you been to Brunton park lately, have you heard, or rather not heard, the atmosphere.

I think we'll be fortunate in that this is a dreadful division and we picked up a good portion of the points we'll need to avoid relegation early on. I think we'll stay up.

We’re pure shite but no chance we’ll go down, there’s quite a few even worse teams.
