Women writing about women
Alexander-Arnold, for all his talent, is playing like he's half his age. He's been a disaster. Half the time he's woefully out of position, and the rest of the time Redmond runs rings round him.

Firmino completely invisible and Sturridge is a shadow of the player has was, unfortunately. Coutinho sort of decent, Lallana not awful, Henderson and Can don't combine at all.

Only Matip and Karius have been good, while Milner and Lovren get away with being invisible at best (ignoring the blatant shirt pull from Lovren).

So basically, this tie should be dead and buried.

TAA has been fine going forward (got a good whip of a cross on him) though once or twice has let Soton slip in behind him, but he's hardly been a disaster.

Firmino needs to move back centrally to link up with Coutinho and Lallana (who's been quiet) and either Sturridge shifted to the right (where he can be as ineffective there but at least Firmino is back in his best position), or sub Sturridge.

I don't know why when we struggle to break down two banks of four that we don't run at them more to try and break through it, create something or perhaps draw a foul, its worth the gamble.

Sturridge needs to be offed, and Origi brought on.

Whatever Klopp said at half time hasn't worked so far.

Very effective defending from Southampton, every man back crowding the area when we have the ball and breaking quickly when they get it back.

Got a shitty feeling it's going to be one of those nights.

Great shot and handling in the end by Forster. Better.

Cracking recovery from Forster after a fuck up. Hopefully that perks us up a bit.

Goalline technology is great because we would have had about 5 minutes of Liverpool players whinging and the commentators' inane speculation otherwise.

Double sub please. Sturridge and Alexander-Arnold, and now is the time to do it.

Not going to criticise Sturridge on that one, the ball was ahead of him.

Clyne is injured right? Alexander-Arnold isn't being played by choice, surely.

Yeah Clyne is out with a rib injury. TAA has been excellent when called upon, but he's been very up and down tonight tbh.

Surely at some point Klopp will introduce a sub. This clearly isn't fucking working.

Time wasting has started. It's now going to be far more difficult.

Indeed, any club would do it in these circumstances. It wasn't a dig, more an indication that a goal was really needed before this point.

Not going to happen tonight. We could play for another hour and not do it, just not working for us going forward.

Well done Southampton - defended really well and then played the counter to great effect.

Congratulations Southampton, been the worthy side by far over both legs, and the best team in the competition so far without conceding any goals in the process. Go out now and win it.

Looked a penalty, but Southampton have played this very well and probably deserve to be in the final more than Liverpool

Liverpool should have had 2 penalties in tonight's match but to be fair Southampton have definitely been the better side over the 2 legs and probably deserved that bit of luck to help them through to the final. Just need Hull to do Man Utd now and we have a proper final on our hands
