Literally nothing funny about that

Apart from they are 2 of the worst players I've ever seen in a Cov shirt. Unless they've massively improved you will be conceding a shed load of goals

Nathan Cameron is probably the worst defender I've ever seen, and being a Crewe fan I've seen some atrocious ones.

The beauty of football fans assuming a footballer is absolutely awful based on how they played for their respective clubs. :2thumb:

Well a terrible player very rarely turns into a good player within a year and a half

And if it don't matter how players played at their previous clubs then whys the first question you ask on a forum when a player signs is 'was he good for you'

Just to gauge what others who've seen him more regularly feel. I don't base my opinion on what they say though, as that'd be naive and narrow-minded. I'd prefer to give them a clean slate. A change of scenery - different club, different manager, different players, different surroundings. It can have an influence on players. There's no doubting that. I believe Nathan Cameron played rather well for Bury last season. Tom Pope was alright at Crewe, had a disaster at Rotherham but went on to achieve automatic promotion with us, smashing records in the process. Akpo Sodje came to us from Darlington, and their fans were literally laughing. They claimed he was awful and not even good enough for their Reserves. He scored 16 goals for us, in a 42-goal strike partnership with Leon Constantine, and showed that we shouldn't, as they say, 'judge a book by its cover'.

Would like to see something like that played, think it will be too attacking to use though.

Nathan Cameron was a rock for us last season, he'll have a bigger test this season but with Clarke next to him I don't think we'll concede a lot of goals. (Depends on what keeper we get too I suppose) Hussey might be found out this season defensively but I suppose we'll have to wait and see.

I hate to say it as I love the bloke, but Adam Barrett isn't up to League One level anymore. Who else do you have to fill in there?
Providing he signs a new deal we've got Adam Thompson who's about 23 really come into his own at cb last season before he got injured or we've got Luke Prosser who Northampton have had a bid rejected for so we're quite comfortable at the back. Always helps when you got the best goalkeeper in the league behind them aswell

Well I would imagine the back five will be the same as last season,
Jon McLaughlin
Phil Edwards
John Mousinho
Shane Camsdell Sherriff
Damian MCrory

Midfield
various formations from
Tom Naylor, Robbie Weir, Matty Palmer, Calum Butcher, Callum Reilly, Lucas Akins, Nasser El Khayati

Strikers
Stuart Beavon
Timmy Thiele
Subs
Daren Lyness(gk), Kelvin Maynard, George Taft, Darius Charles, Dominic Knowles. Of those Maynard and Charles can play a wide variety of positions.
At least 2 more attacking players are set to be signed.(1 of which who is likely to be another Dutch import.)
We have several good lads who have progressed through the academy who will be involved with the squad again, Slade, Harness, Shelton and Austin.
Confident we will have a squad able to compete at this level.

Lee Burge signed for Southend? Bit of a weird move

Fishing much? Will be interested to see how Southend do this year. Thought you were dire in the playoffs vs wycombe, but Mooney and Wordsworth are decent enough players at this level. Hope that you survive as its one of the few local trips we have going forward.

We will definitely survive and I'd say comfortably a few more goals in the side last year and we would of been right up top with Burton and Shrews. We lacked abit of creativity signing Wordsworth is an early sign of rectifying that. Our defence is solid. Couldn't really give a f about play-off performances all about results and we did what we needed to do.

As for Bentley i'll be surprised if their is a goalkeeper better than him in this league, he is that good. Everyone will agree on it come the end of the season sure of it

I saw Bentley a few times last season and was very impressed.
Looks a good keeper and still very young for that position too.

That's if Gerrard signs, of course. Also got Miles Addison on trial too.

Midfield will be our strong point this season. Kelly as the anchor, Jones, Green & Winchester all good on the ball and Forte with the pace.

Poleon & Turner as pacy options off the bench up top.

If we could bring in a RB, another out & out winger and snap Addison up if he impresses on trial then I'll be fairly pleased.

I'll have a go.

Assuming Saunders will play 4-4-2, and after taking in to consideration what players he has picked out as 'projects', i'd go for this.

Lee
Darikwa Evatt Hird Talbot
Ariyibi Morsy Banks Clucas
Gnando Ebanks-Blake

Subs: Chapman, Raglan, Jones, Humphreys, Gardner, Harrison, Mani D.

Pro's: 9 out of the first 11 were starting for us in a playoff placing team last season. E-B may even bring more goal scoring instinct, which we missed from losing Doyle in January.

Con's: Banks isn't good enough to start, debatable whether he should have a contract. Gnando is frustrating, and simply wasn't good enough last season, but I can see him getting minutes because Saunders reckons he can get him going. Our options on the bench aren't fantastic. Think we're sorted for the backline, unless we have big injuries, but then you've got miniscule options in midfield, an unproven front line, and I've had to make up the bench of a couple of players we only brought in for the development squad.

Give us a half decent center mid, another option on the wing, and a couple of passable loans to fill empty slots, and i'd be happy starting with this.

DISCLAIMER: This is all fucked if we lose Clucas, Darikwa and/or Morsy.

That Bradford team looks the best of the ones posted on here IMO - but that's largely dependant on Davies staying fit.

It's coming together, but it isn't the strongest. I stil believe our defence is suspect - even more so now Andrew Davies has left.

We must still have a fair bit of cash left to spend, as Davies, McLean and Mark Yeates were all on big money. I believe we may be paying Stephen Davies a bit, but I can't imagine Josh Morris and Tony McMahon costing all that much.

At least another 5 to come in though!

Maybe it's more that there hasn't been a particularly strong side posted on here yet than anything else. Think you'll have a good season.

Based purely on what we have at the moment:

Morris

Egan Davies Ehmer

Jackson Garmston

Morris Loft

Dack

McDonald Donnelly

Subs:
Hessenthaler, McGlashan, Dickenson, Norris, Hare, Hadler

I really like the look of that and with JED saying that we are currently in talks with a couple more permanent signings and a couple of loans it could get better still.
