Get in a wonderful result for Gainsborough away at the FCUM.

Debut goal for Paul McKay, the centre back on long from our place.

Think they ought to kick on now, not a bad squad from the games I've been to and very unlucky to be in the bottom half.
Hopefully FCUM are going to return from where they came from. :ainsley:

Next game I'm going to try to get to is Harrogate at home as I can't be arsed with Cambridge away.

Come on you bloooooos!

Well blow me down a feather or three we went and bloody won away at the best team we have played all season! Typical Alfreton that!

Harrogate 1 Colbeck 20, Alfreton 2, Thanoj 37, Robertson 53

Massive Win today! We started as poorly as ever and were extremely fortunate to come in level at the break 1-1. It was a stunning freekick from either side for the goals too. Thanojs almost broke the net he struck it so sweet.
Second half however it was a totally different story. They showed heart desire, a will to win and fantastic determination to a man to take the three points. Robertsons persistence to close down the keeper and snatch the ball and then to find the goal from the tightest of angles was the decisive goal. Thanoj then the post from the 3rd beauty of a freekick of the afternoon after a Harrogate defender had gone in late on a Robertson and fortunate to stay on the pitch.

Harrogate threatened all afternoon though and only a series of excellent saves from MOTM Matt Duke denied them.
Alfreton legend Paul Clayton was introduced on 62 minutes and Duke was called in to action soon after to palm away his goalbound effort.

A great day all round and a much needed win.

Interestingly, Wayne Bradley joined in the celebrations in the second half and called a meeting with Nicky after the final whistle which was unusual.

If Stockport and other interesting away days can hold station and Worcester stay up that would be great thanks

Telford 1 - 5 Nuneaton Boro / Town. I thought Harrogate were good, this lot were very, very good. No complaints, best team won and will take some stopping in winning the league.

Drew 0-0 at Hednesford. Hednesford were there for the taking, but instead of creating clear cut chances, we just continued to punt it into the box. Unbeaten at 15, but our players seem content with having the point to continue the unbeaten run, instead of taking all 3.
We need to beat Gloucester next week to keep up with the league leaders.

Boston played again last night and, just like last season, seem to have played tonnes more than everyone else. They're out of the PO's on GD but the teams around them have 3, 4 or 5 games in hand!

They play at our place on Saturday too.

We have the opportunity to really pile the pressure on Greene too. Judging by their forum a lot of supporters are disappointed by last nights performance and frustrated by Greene.

To be honest, when we played them, they weren't that good, Harrogate best team by far

North Ferriby are the best team I've seen.
They were very poor against us. Scored a decent free kick after 10 minutes. Then Sat back and created absolutely nothing else all game. Unfortuanately were awful and unable to take advantage.

The majority of the teams except the top 3 are very inconsistent though. I think you could a cig paper between them

This division has regressed hugely since we were last here. Our title wining squad would have won this league by at least 30 points and probably scored 100+ points.

Looks to be a good signing for Trinity yesterday, some guy from Barrow who I recognised but can't remember the name of.

Former Alfreton Striker Anthony Wilson. Good player at this level. However I doubt he would have come cheap.

Decent front line they've got there with Jarman, Newsham, Bignall and now Wilson, although I think only Newsham is fit at the minute.

Alfreton 1-2 Boston United (Ironside 82, Blinco 1,61)

Well it appears last week was an anomaly and we have hit the ground with an almighty crash again today. Another absolutely woeful start as we are behind within 52 seconds to a shocking goal. That set the tone for the rest of the first half and Boston tore us to shreds and we would had no complaints if we were 3-0 down at half time. A mini revival at the start of the second half which saw us earn a few corners have a strong penalty claim denied and Wilson fire a half volley inches over the bar.

Then boston doubled their lead as Blinco just ran through our static defence and slotted home.

In a desperate bid to get something out of the game Nicky brought on Jackson and Ironside with 15 to go. The latter scrambling in after the a huge goal mouth scramble which seemed to go for an age. That awoke us from our slumbers again and despite a late Allan chance and another strong penalty claim we went home empty handed and rightly so.

Too many and our squad aren't good enough for this level. That is a fact.

Nicky tore in to the players post match again. Saying it was too cold for them and that 4-5 dont wanna play for him.

Shrewsbury money perhaps, Paul McKay from ourselves was a solid signing to, scoring on his debut.

They lost to Tamworth today mind, can't help but think they're hugely underachieving this season.

Bloody Hell. Chorley smashed 5-2 at Skelmersdale United tonight. A team in the lower reaches of the Evo Stik Premier. Oh dear.

Did the same with north Ferriby yesterday, 2-0 up at half time and last 25 we concede 3! Its time for concern. I don't know how many times we have thrown a lead away in the last 25 and either lost or drew.:hb::bang::sur:
