Seems like we're gonna be took over by the borough council, better than the old owner (Trevor hemmings) hope they're better owners and actually care about the club!
Is that "Hedgehunter" Trevor Hemmings? Didn't know he had anything to do with Chorley FC

Listened to harrogate vs Curzon today, finished 1-1.

Curzon had a person sent off after 3 minutes, Harrogate one on 12 mins, Curzon took lead and lost it when a player handled on line reducing them to 9 men in process and 1-1.

sounded a battling display since most of game was played with a man less, the commentator was superbly biased and if he had his way a good 7-9 Curzon players had to be sent off..............saying that may have been only way Harrogate were scoring from open play.

Alfreton 1-1 Gloucester City (Smith 30, Webb 88)

Better than last week. But Gloucester were by far the better side for much of the game though. We just look like a team just seeing the season out and not prepared to bust a gut in doing so.

Gloucester dominated the second half from the first whistle to the last. A MOTM performance from Matt Duke was not enough to deny Gloucester a deserved point. You could make a case for them getting all 3.

Speaking to the Gloucester press man its been the same all season. Excellent build up play but no end product or killer instinct.

Vey impressed by their front three. Particularly number 10 Louis Robles.

Went to FC United vs Chorley today. Very solid performance by FC United and Chorley weren't even in the game. I went the game to see how a former Alex reject, Jordan Connerton was getting on. Judging by the sitter he missed in the first half, I can see why Dario was keen to get rid of him!

Still a great advert for non-league football, I left Broadhurst Park feeling entertained and games like this have fuelled my enthusiasm to partake in more non-league matches next season when I don't renew my Crewe season ticket. To get over 4000 fans for a Step 6 game too is an incredible achievement, and I wish both sides the best for the rest of the season.

Another loss for Boston - 4 on the bounce and 6 in 10.

Crazy that they're as high as they are considering they have one of the worst defences in the league and the amount of losses they have in comparison to those above them.

the point deduction makes that last play-off spot interesting.

thought it was over for Curzon after they lost at Chorley the other week, but it gives them a slight chance, as it does for Stockport and Chorley also.

Tough game on monday vs an in form FCUM who will probs have 10 away fans to every home fan (so removes that advantage) but if they can win that one, then its Hednesford, Lowestoft, Gloucester and Brackley......3 of which at home (all possible wins)

that could take them to Stockport with a small chance.......but they need really to win monday to keep within that 6 point gap.

Whoever comes 5th will go up. If we lose to Tamworth it's the funeral and wake at FCUM on Saturday for us

We got 4,500 (probably more but that was given) 2 seasons ago a league below, although that was 1st vs 2nd when we played them

Curzon 0-0 fcum

Not fantastic really. A mixture of tired legs and a horrific wind knackered it.

First half a non event, fcum were better, but neither looked like scoring. Second half much better, Curzon on top for good parts of it, but could not get breakthrough, but fcum ended stronger....both had a couple of good chances, draw was right result in end, but that for me ends their play-off hopes

Bloody freezing also

We were absolutely dog shit today. Gannon has been playing this ridiculous formation where we have 2 upfront, an an attacking midfielder then we have literally NOBODY as a CM, we just have a DM and 2 wingers, both who aren't even natural wingers, against the shit teams we get away with it but it's such a strange, ridiculous formation that the good teams will just exploit that space where no one is in the middle.

I love Gannon but he has to ditch that formation it's just baffling.

Brodie also showing signs of being a c*** as he had a go at one of our fans today.

Gainsborough 1-1 Alfreton (Picton 64, Dan Bradley pen 90+5)

We were fucking dog shit today. No interest or will in the team whatsoever. The most undeserved point in history.

Story of missed chances from both sides in the first half. Matt Duke once again the hero and rightly MOTM as he denied Jarman and Williams in the first half. Dan Bradley had an excellent chance for us but saw his shot palmed to Todd Jordan who chip was tipped round for a corner. From the resulting corner Tom Allan had a free header and failed to even work the keeper.

Gainsborough were much the better side second half. Picton finally sweeping home unmarked in the box after a period of sustained Gainsborough pressure.

The penalty incident really summed us up. Poor throw from Heaton towards Nyoni who sold Heaton short in return who then somehow got the ball back to Nyoni with his back to goal in the box. Then in came Jonathan D`Laryea with a brainless challenge from behind - penalty.

Dan Bradley took and scored. Feel sorry for Gainsborough. We deserved the square of nothing but somehow remain unbeaten away in 2016.

Tight game at Tamworth but nice to see us finally win a game. Went 2 up just before half time and though they got one, there was huffing and puffing from both sides and we did enough to see it out

They just simply cannot go any higher without major problems.

watching heir fanbase on sat, it is all about drinking on terraces, smoking in the ground, an old school approach to football etc, etc.

that all dies if they go up just one more level when the commercial and regulated aspects of the top 5 divisions kicks in.

suddenly its segregation, no drinking, no smoking, restricted tickets, higher prices, sponsorship, media rights, games moved for TV etc, etc.

Spot on. They can't go any further without having to abandon everything they stand for. They would never be able to keep a low profile with all the media attention they get. Only Hereford and Salford are more popular with the media than FC United out of all the non league teams so they would really struggle to stick to their morals.

Think BigDave is referring to Curzon Ashton mate, not FCUM;);)

No I meant fcum, but from watching them at Curzon on Monday they have some huge fanbase divisions coming up soon.

One mix, the new fans just following a local club which is rising and has potential easily for fl. The other half are the originals who specifically follow fcum to enjoy the non commercial, non media, no rule & regs aspects of non league football.

One half will want continued progress, another half will want no further.

And from being in among them the ones who want no more will be bloody vocal about it.

But their newer fanbase is growing and now probs outnumbers the originals

Curzon 2-0 Hednesford at moment.

Even first half, mind Curzon had more chances. Curzon scored in first few mins of 2nd half and heds have collapsed, their morale has gone.

Corby 2-3 Alfreton (Bown 7, McKenzie 36, Heaton 2,29 Leesley 89) (Alfreton in Bold)

Unque game today. Never seen 4 goals all from headers from corners in the same game before!

Niall Heaton got the ball rolling when he powered home a Thanoj free kick just 3 minutes in. Corby were soon level just 4 minutes later. Former Red Anton Brown credited with the goal despite a clear foul on Matt Duke.

We went back in front through another Heaton header before tied the game at 2-2 thanks to Mackenzie precise header. Both defences where poor and yet again without Duke we would have been defeated. He denied Mills in the first half before two excellent saves one on one with McDonald late in the second half.

We were much better going forward today though. Meikle and Thanoj saw efforts spectacularly cleared off the line before Joe Leesley popped up with the winner when he latched on to Sam Smiths flick on and poked the ball past the onrushing keeper.

Disappointed with the way we defended today. But a win is a win and despite that being our first win in seven, we have only tasted defeat 2 in the last 20. Still unbeaten away from home in 2016 too!

Demolished FC United 2-1. I can see why they've shipped 70 as they are frighteningly poor at the back and only poor decision making/finishing from us stopped us getting 7 or 8. Obviously, being Boston, we conceded to set up a nervy last minute or two but would've been horrific had we chucked that one away

I've said this many times, but Jansen is a retard. We lost against a poor team, as soon as they scored our heads went down and we never looked like getting back in it
