10 hours doe, that's slave stuff surely. The extra day would be nice, but 10 hours :jones:. Sometimes I feel like I can barely manage 7.5, let alone 10.

The majority of my team are gonna go for the 10, I feel obligated to follow suit. 10 hours is tough though, especially when I'm travelling 3 hours per day commuting.

That said, 3 days off in a row :db:

try doing 0730-2300, sleeping at work (get paid to sleep there) and working 0730-1430 the next day...that was a killer haha

I do 12 hour shifts, 4 on 4 off, with an a hour travelling each way. Can be a bit tiring but you get used to it. But you get used to 4 days off more. If I'm going to be at work, then it's no different if it's 8 hours or 12, the day's still fucked. But with 4 days off, I can get plenty done, my missus is also a shift worker and we very often fuck off on city breaks on our days off. Lovely.

Aye, exactly my thinking too. Option 2, Abe.

Never been but my friend's from there and he's a cosseted idiot.
Haha me too. We're talking had to be shown how to open a microwave door/mum still bought all his clothes style cosseted too. Well, this was in uni. He has a wife now who probably does all that stuff. Complete class divide between him and all my other mates. He received a t-shirt once as a present and it was the first one he had ever owned. Also got onto the subject of his dad's plane once and I said "Pete, have you ever flown it?" to which he simply responded "yeah...that was a bad idea."

Great guy though and absolutely awesome fun on the piss.

Don't suppose anyone's clued up on cigars? I'm not a smoker so I know naff all about anything to do with them.

In short, it's just in addition to a wedding present. The groom is a smoker and has the odd cigar a year. Not the overly massive ones but ones that are a 30 minute to smoke types, with a sweetish taste (I think, or so he tells me).

Any suggestions?

Laptop is doing my head in. Keeps randomly freezing for anything between 5 seconds and around 5 minutes, it always comes back on, but it's quite a common thing. I've updated all drivers, checked to see if any are out of date, tried checking the RAM sticks, took one out, tried it in both slots, did the same with the other and it still keeps happening. The only conclusion I can really come up with is the fact that it's probably the HDD, just wanting a bit of confirmation more than anything on that really?

The only issue really is that I don't have a copy of my OS on disc or a backup anywhere as my laptop was second hand. Though I may (and I stress may) be able to get windows 8 on here from my missus' laptop if I can find her backup software, though whether that's legal or not is another matter. I know I can easily get a pirated version of either OS but I'd rather have a genuine copy. So, any ideas lads?

EDIT: I also tried a full system format of the HDD not long ago (obviously keeping the OS in place), and when it freezes, the HDD light goes off.

If it used to, it might have melted the solder around certain areas, which is what is causing the issue. Happened on my old laptop.

It may well indeed be that mate, I had the same thing happen to me on my desktop last year accompanied by clicking sounds from the HDD itself. Stuck an SSD in there now (had to reinstall Windows which is always a pain), and all's well.

But then I don't get why it'd work for ages, hit a small issue, then carry on like nothing again. I honestly can't come to any conclusion other than the HDD.

Because it causes an intermittent issue. I'm not saying it's what it is, but it's a possibility.

Fair enough, cheers, Luke, once I've got a bit of cash, I'll whack a new HDD in it, if that doesn't sort it then damage to the motherboard would be the only conclusion I could reasonably come to I think.

Basically I met this girl a couple of years ago while I was working at a bar, we swapped numbers and all that shit and I was dead into her but for one reason or another it didn't work out.

Tonight I've come back into contact with her and I'm still very attracted to her....the hitch is that she now has a kid (she is single) and I'm going travelling in January, do I stay clear and let her go by or do I go for it?

I'm quite confused by it all tbh. Realistically I want a girl who hasn't got kids or isn't doing a media course at college but I can't help who I'm attracted to.

Any chance you're the father?! If so, I think I'd want to find that out, and it would obviously influence things.

If not, I'd suggest staying clear. You forgot about her easily enough once before.

I'm looking after an infant cousin this weekend, won't stop crying

I've already tried squirting two bottles of no tears shampoo into her eyes but it's had no effect, she won't stop crying, if anything it made it worse

Would appreciate guidance on how to proceed
Rum laced milk would be my carefully considered ,responsible parent advice .

Not sure if this counts as advice but there's some intelligent people on here so I thought I'd ask..

I went to the gym today, first thing I did was go on the treadmill, I didn't sprint or anything it was the same basic run I usually do, I came off it and suddenly started feeling light headed and dizzy, I got myself a drink and I felt worse, I stood still snf before I know it my drink is on the floor and I've got a graze on my knee from what must be where they hit the carpet but I have no idea what happened, I don't remember picking myself up off the floor, I couldn't have done that as someone would have come over to me, and after it I felt perfectly fine.

Any idea why that happened? It's never happened in my life and I don't know whether it will happen again. It was proper weird.
