Salford! Apparently it's our first appearance in my lifetime. We're not even as old as the TV show, go us.

But honestly does anyone have ideas? Currently ploughing through the compositions of Mily Balakirev. Tried memorising a few things on Google Maps but my mind drifted and I ended up just staring at that island between Russia and Alaska.
I'd focus on your specialisms. When Paxman says the bonus questions are on your degree subject or something you're interested in then you want to capitalise on that. I think you'd be wasting your time to try and learn about a completely new area enough to be competitive with people who might be experts; trust in your teammates to cover your weaknesses.

I'm going to be getting my phone upgraded soon and going for the 6s. Quick one though, is the 16gb, 6mb data generally enough? At home I'm connected to the WIFi anyway and I only really browse on websites and twitter (rather than stream)

I'm thinking for the sake of an extra fiver a month I should go for the 64gb, 10mb data.

10mb of data?!!?!?!?!

I know things are a few years behind the times in Nottingham but there's no need to go all 1995 dial up broadband level.

That's all I use my data for and 500MB is fine for me. 1GB would definitely be enough.

Do you know how easy it is to create something interactive, eg someone would input information and the app would give you information back...need to know much coding?

The app I made solves quadratic equations, so the user puts the coefficients in and it outputs the solutions. I guess that's broadly similar to what you want.

I didn't have much experience of programming in general, and none in Java, so I mostly learnt as I went along. Obviously it took a lot longer to make than it would have for someone who knew what they were doing, but I don't remember how long it took me. Does that help?

Does anyone have BT Internet? Had it installed yesterday afternoon. I've got the orange flashing light on since it was installed. I've seen on the internet that it should be working after midnight or after 24 hours. I'm just wondering how long it took for anyone else before I have to ring them up??

I think they've moved all their call centres back to the UK, last time I rang BT I spoke to a lady with a lovely Yorkshire accent.

Long term gains.

I thought this would be a good move but my views on the matter have changed. For the last few Godforsaken years, like many I've struggled, despaired and generally stressed out at life the universe and everything whenever I've been forced into a verbal exchange with Patel in bloody Bangalore.

All was forgiven the last time I rang up and was faced with something far worse...a Geordie.

Didn't get a fucking word.

Did you never get John Smith in Bangalore?

I was wondering if anyone had any experience of declaring tax for a single payment? I'm doing a medical trial next month and need to declare it. I looked online but it seems pretty long winded for what will be a one off payment so any advice would be great. I was just going to ring them up when the money goes in and then see what they say. I guess I won't be able to spend that money until it's been taxed as I won't know how much they will take

Yeah we have to declare it legally. I can't really condemn Amazon etc and then not declare my own tax, plus they will probably come down harder on me should they ever find out I didn't declare it than they did any of the massive companies.

Meh, I'd give you a pass on it morally :bg:. Just offer to pay 0.5 percent tax like Amazon.
You're probably right though, they would smash you for it.
I have no practical advice, sorry mate.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Anyone use any of those affilliate schemes like Amazon etc to monetise websites?

With limited success so far, yeah. Can try to help out if you need to know stuff though.

We are looking to rent a flat and we are paying £300 holding fee up front as standard which is refundable.

The agent is also asking us to pay the fees up front of £360. It's been a while since we last moved and we can't remember what happened before. I'm just cautious of giving him £360 upfront unsecured before he's even checked our references etc.

Is this normal practice?

All our stuff will come back fine we had two months off work recently but always paid our rent on time using savings. We've both recently started work again but I feel cautious as he could create an excuse and keep the money.
