We quite like ours. Streaming Netflix etc from your phone to the TV is pretty handy. And porn

Anyone got any advice for coping after a 7 year relationship comes to an end?

Struggling, here.

Don't let yourself dwell on it. Keep things as normal as possible, spend some time with friends and family and keep positive.

As Cheese & Biscuits has said spend time with mates and family. Keep yourself busy. Don't look at photos of your ex. Accept that you will feel better over time.

Good advice. This could be quite complicated, though. We have a house together; it will now need to be sold as she wants her share back. The majority of her stuff is still here (she moved out yesterday). We ended on reasonably good terms - even though she won't divulge why she wanted to break-up - but obviously this is all quite daunting.

Time, time and more time. Keep yourself busy and try and find something to do to replace the time you would have spent with her. It won't be easy at first but it will get better.

Macclesfield Town/Manchester City. It's complicated.
Don't hire an assassin to kill the other bloke.

It's not worth it. Trust me.

When people say that having a house to yourself - without a woman around the place - is a pleasure, I'm struggling to see that angle. It may have something to do with her choice of decor which is a constant frustrating reminder, though...

Probably for the best that you are selling it. Fresh start somewhere else will help you lose certain memories.

Years ago I was seeing a girl who still lived in a house with her ex who was also seeing someone. It was the most toe clenchingly awful, awkward situation I've ever been in. Fucking sell it mate, get shot of the pain and avoid the mess. I know it's easier to say than do but if it's over it's over.
Good luck mate

I'm cooking for the mrs tonight. I have all the ingredients apart from Rice wine vinegar. I was wondering if White wine vinegar could be used as a substitute??

According to this no, see the article but apparently cider vinegar (or apple vinegar...) is a much better substitute.

 fair enough, the white wine vinegar could have killed the dish, so laziness for once wasn't the key here!

How do you get the right ring, and the right size ring when wanting to propose? Genuinely stressing out. My misses doesnt really wear rings, and she has loads that do not fit (sort of ones you buy in a pack, cheap shit) so I cannot even just grab one. She doesnt know what size they are either. 1FF, I need your help.

Unless I just dump her, she doesnt take it up the arse so I think I have grounds to just dump her.

Get your best estimate and if doesn't fit exchange it or get it altered. Good luck and congratulations.

I used a colleague as a guide. I thought they'd both be about the same size and if it fit her, it'd fit my potential wife. I was wrong though, my wife's arsehole was a completely different size and she went ballistic when I told her what I did.

As for the engagement ring I guessed and was one size out.

Does anyone have any experience of getting a job by sending speculative applications to companies? How likely it is to be successful, how to maximise effectiveness, etc?

Seeing as it won't let me post the image I wanted I may as well change this post to how do you post an image on this site.

looks like you copied the link in address bar (ie a search page result) rather than the image url. right click on the picture and there should be an option to copy image address/url

So, just an update for those that sent messages of support over. Appreciate that.

Sold the house today, ex-missus gets half and I need to find somewhere else to live within the next few weeks, which may be a bit of a struggle. I get on quite well with her old man, as I've known him for years from the football, and he came down to Pompey yesterday where he agreed to give me 10% of her share of the house, as he paid for it and felt bad. I rejected it as I couldn't bring myself to accept it - don't want to be seen as a charity case - and I feel some closure is needed so I can progress with another relationship (however long that takes).
