Hahahahahaha.

What are you laughing at?

Luke Armstrong has done nothing for us, so turns out you really did dodge a bullet after all.

Definitely a double relegation on the cards I think when they get back down here.

Well folks, it looks like we're coming back down to L2 and with a whimper too.

We never really left did we?

I hope you can have some sympathy for us because we're rock bottom in L1, we're 12 points adrift from safety and have now lost 7 in a row with only 4 wins all season.

The quality in the league above is quite superior to down here and if you're not prepared for it going up then you could end up like us and the way things are going we'll be like Forest Green next season.
Funny that we lasted 2 seasons in League 1, vs you and FGR

How long did it take for your new owners to turn things around when they first took over?

Only took a couple of seasons to prove that Simpson is a major toy chucker. Stockport fans know the speel.

A few players don't sign a new contract and he's straight to the press. It's alright though lads because Barra train in Manchester.

Stockport County.
The key to not getting relegated is don't go and get too big for your boots and get promoted.

We were outside a transfer window when they took over so they couldn't do much that season. Things happened quite quickly when they got going but the first full season was hampered by not getting Parkinson in until quite late in the summer so he had to improve the team quickly (hence stopgap signings like Liam McAlinden, Harry Lennon and Jake Hyde).

I like how Carlisle have given Simpson the season as he probably deserves it after an against the odds promotion last year. But I can see you changing managers in the summer, building a new team, and challenging at the top.

I'm an eternal optimist though.

Well then perhaps if you lot hadn't put in such a lacklustre performance in the playoff final and not missed a complete sitter, we would not be doing so terrible this season and you would surely be having a decent season in L1.

So I think Stockport are partly to blame for our shitness.

We've played a lot better without him. The way he behaved when the Wrexham deal fell through made him a pariah with the supporters

I heard a big part of the deal falling through was on his side too, or at least his agent trying to squeeze more money out of us. What a tit.

Think we all said spunking 500k on a lad who didn't set the world alight at Harrogate was a mistake, so yeah, bullet dodged. Don't think we broke our record signing Marriott from Fleetwood instead.

We nearly doubled the record trying to get the midfielder from Rovrum, though but the stumbling block was around 100k extra Wrexham tax.

That would be the darkest day in the history of our club.

Sigh..

What's the point of us going for promotion?

We'd just come straight back down again, isn't that right hellogregory?
IMG_4316.jpeg

No because we can’t possibly be beleaguered in League 1 even if we do come straight back down which I’m quietly confident that we won’t.

Just shows how much of a shit predictor he is.

Unbelievably thought we'd get relegated last season but we get promoted, then does a u turn on his principles and bizarrely predicted us to survive this season, but we're going down.

Oh and he's gone on a hiatus off the forum until this seasons finished, but I thought he'd be loving it. So much for us not possibly being 'beleaguered' in L1 and now he's had enough.

Wrexham definitely got away with not signing Armstrong for half a million, then signing a much better player in Marriott for a bit less.

Not sure why they decided to sign League Two players who were having poor seasons. Lewis was dreadful for us this season. Starting to think he's a one-season wonder.

Paul Hurst managed to spunk our biggest ever prize money pot on a load of no-season wonders, apart from Danny Rose, whose babies most Gy fans want to have, and Kamil Conteh, who fecked off at the earliest possible opportunity when he realised most of the team were shit…

We're that bad I can see us getting a double relegation all the way down to the National league.

Our current 8 game losing run will continue right through into next season and we'll finish 24th in L2 with zero points after 46 defeats.

So that would be 67 straight defeats if you managed that. Beleaguered would be an understatement.

Well, these american owners did say something like they wanted to go places, they’re certainly going somewhere!

I thought no one would do as bad as we did in League One 2 years ago for many years but FGR then surpassed us and Carlisle are now on course to surpass them!

The problem is that we punched way above our weight in L2 last season as we were among the favourites to go down with having such a poor budget. Yet we miraculously got promoted thanks to having a couple of big characters in the dressing room who have all left now, a good manager for that level who is a Carlisle legend, lots of luck from set pieces which our manager even admitted and also helped that much fancied clubs like yourselves, Bradford and Stockport all bottled it.

Really, we are a below average L2 club playing in L1 and it's going to take our new owners a fair bit of time to sort out the infrastructure of the club which has been too tinpot for too long.

Dissociative identity disorder? That's the vibe I'm getting.

Money talks Carver, and you got a lotta dollar to spend right?

Having more money in L2 means fuck all unless it's spent correctly, just look at how many years Mansfield have been fighting to go up and they always have a top 7 budget and yet clubs with next to nothing are the type who regularly get promoted as we did and that looks like it will be Crewe this season.

Anyone can get promoted from this league if enough things fall into place for them. That's why it's an interesting league unlike the ones above that are too predictable.

Wrexham could be stuck in this league for 10 years.
