Having more money in L2 means fuck all unless it's spent correctly, just look at how many years Mansfield have been down here for and they always have a top 7 budget and yet clubs with next to nothing are the type who regularly get promoted as we did and that looks like it will be Crewe this season.

Said it for years you're wasting your time if you spend big at this level. You just inflate the wages of journeymen and the gap between bottom half of L1 and top half of L2 is the smallest out of all the divisions. Whereas if you pay PL wages for PL players in the Championship and Championship wages for Championship players in L1 it'll often work out 9 times out of 10 because of the disparity between the divisions.

You'll see L1 standard players drop down to non league for money and that obviously makes a big difference but you very rarely see solid Championship standard players drop to L2 for money. Even the ones that do are past their best or were playing for sides struggling to stay up like Rotherham.

That's a good point and it's the reason why we probably haven't gone and pushed the boat out in January to sign those type of players you mention to try and keep us up when it looked pretty much clear that we were too far behind anyway so we started to prepare for L2 and instead signed players who are not only good for that level but know the level too.

Although we did sign two players from Rotherham and they're both crocks :ffs:

Last two players we signed from Rotherham well one lasted 3 games and then got injured and the other retired a month after signing. Definitely a curse!

All depends on wages, we’re 6th/7th budget wise this season.

For me you need consistency, we’ve got one of the better and most respected managers inches lower leagues and he promised we’d do it within 3 full seasons of him in charge.

Yeah in fairness i’ll concede we’ve the best defence/defender in the league but other than that we’re full of good, but reliable and versatile players which has served us wonderfully well so far, that’s usually enough in this league.

Anyone can get promoted from this league if enough things fall into place for them. That's why it's an interesting league unlike the ones above that are too predictable.

Wrexham could be stuck in this league for 10 years.

Nah. We may not go up this year (I think we will) but we won't be in League Two for too many seasons. League one is where we plateau.

I do agree that money isn't everything though.

Could but very much doubt.

Getting out of this league is light work compared to the National League with its 1 automatic spot.

Hahahahahaha.

Definitely a double relegation on the cards I think when they get back down here.
Good to see fans of Wrexham of all clubs are now celebrating other clubs' misfortunes.

At least we now have a sustainable foundation on which to build. As soon as Deadpool and Mac get bored of football, Wrexham will be back in the Dog & Duck league faster than you can say Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysiliogogogoch

They spent a Championship budget on wages just to get out of the national league I mean how irresponsible is that?!

They have the sort of reckless owners who demand immediate success no matter what and will put their own agendas before the welfare of the club and YES they will get bored once their shite documentary ratings drop as they are not football fans it's all just faked acting.

AND THEIR FANS THOUGHT THEY COULD SIGN SZMODICS FROM BLACKBURN!!!

That's how utterly deluded they are and when their club goes bust it in 2 years time it will be ohh such a tragedy :lol::lol:

Most of the Carlisle lads are sound. I even crack on fine with Carver. I told him in January they were signing L2 players in prep for next season, he wasn't having any of it but he knows I was right now.

Their fans were sound at Wembley last too and gracious in victory. I'm disappointed they've flopped so badly this season. Makes me think it could be a blessing in disguise we missed out and could go up this year instead meaning we are better prepared.

Couple of easy wins if you've still got Lewis in net.

If we survive can we claim this thread for next season. We deserve some recompense for Paul Hurst signing a pile of shite and fecking off to Shrewsbury for a second time.

I think you would have done fine in L1 this season, we were just nowhere near ready for L1 level and punched above our weight getting promoted last season.

However we've learned a lot of what L1 is about now and the type of players that are needed for this level and the style of football which is much better than L2 by the way but not a million miles away especially in the bottom half. The current top 4 in L2 should cope allright in L1 because they all have a bit of money behind them and a decent infrastructure, but if anyone else goes up instead like Barrow for example then they will be easily swept aside in L1.

Our club is family run by real successful American business people who have real interest in English football and they had been planning on doing this for years.

They are in it for the long run and are not just doing it on a whim like your actor owners who will pull out once they get impatient, bored and realise that the higher the league the tougher it is to win, leaving you in mountains of debt. I mean just look at how much you spent to get out of the national league and trying to get out of L2. We must have spent a tiny fraction of that and that's all what was needed to get us out of L2!

So careless of you.

You may have seen your immediate successes right now in the non-league and lower leagues, but it will be short lived whereas we will take our time building our infrastructure like training facilities and the academy then who knows maybe we become the next Brentford or Brighton even.

You'll be the next Rushden and Diamonds.

Think it involves being virtually relegated by Christmas and allowing some random and very suspicious Americans take over that nobody has ever heard of.

Very suspicious??

Why? For what reason are they suspicious?:lol:

over the summer we're building or beginning work on the the following:

extended space in the concourses for extra food and refreshments and new turnstiles

covered wheelchair accessible terracing

a large new space for boxes and hospitality, more than doubling our existing capacity for both

a new big screen which will be in place for the Euros

a new training facility with outdoor floodlit 3g pitch, indoor full size 3g pitch and three full size grass pitches, areas set aside for community use

redecorated changing rooms and renewed indoor training facilities at Brunton Park

LED perimeter advertising

what are you doing? gonna traipse over to America to get humped by Chelsea again? Getting sponsored by Meccano so you can build more stands?

Because the key factor in whether or not someone is trustworthy is whether or not some random Wrexham fan has heard of them? Is that one of the criteria in the fit and proper test?

Fair play to the Wrexham fans getting Shoddy to bite like this and some would say a full on TRIGGERERING as I’ve never known him react like this before, I can imagine him sat in his front room setting fire to a St David’s flag with his Deadpool dvd wrapped inside it.

Just feel they're sat there asking for a bit of a ribbing, you not agree? Have they been like this all season? Acting like they're the poster boys for football business done right because they managed to get themselves into such a sorry state that just fixing them was Netflix-worthy
