I have no idea if we'll last the pace, we seem to keep going on poor runs then scrapping back into the playoff spots.

If we manage a playoff spot again this season it'll be because everyone else has choked, not because we're good enough necessarily.

Tough few fixtures for the rest of the month though, Exeter H, NTFC A, the Gas at home.

I'd take 9th/10th. That would be an absolutely brilliant finish after last season, It's Murray's first ever full season in management also but if we can keep picking points up we won't be far off. I think we need about 23 more points.

At least the teams we still have to play in the top half are the teams close to us so if we can win a few we will be taking points off those we need to. Our record against the bottom half is brilliant, Only Luton and Exeter have beaten us I think. We've still got 6 of the bottom 8 to play. See where we are at the end of Feb.

I don't think there's any chance Northampton won't be promoted, unbelievable run of form. I think both Oxford and Plymouth would be disappointed if they didn't go up via the autos, gap between 3rd and 4th is widening further.

Carlisle are inconsistent, and are now 6 points from the playoffs. Another big game against Accrington in midweek, need to be winning that in my opinion.

There are a few decent teams from 4th down to about 13th, all with a possibility of getting into the playoffs, but most of us are inconsistent.

The top half of the table is ridiculously bunched up and anyone could bag a playoff spot if they can put a run together. Interesting to see where Accy land once all the games in hand are played.

They will make the playoffs. Comfortably the best side I've seen this season. Think they're the only shoe-ins for a lottery ticket.

Will take a monumental fuck up not to be promoted now for Northampton, although I definitely think we're looking at the champions.

I can see why people are saying Northampton are defiantly going up from their recent form, but it's still February and they're not promoted until they're promoted and I'm quite surprised one or two of their fans are getting ahead of themselves.

We'll find out on Tuesday night at Accrington if we're still realistically in the fight for the play offs. I'm sure Accrington will be up for it after today's mauling of Crawley!

15 points ahead of 4th with a game in hand, would take a hell of a drop in form. I've been sceptical but today has had me signing up to the promotion bandwagon.

We were awful in the first half just like we were up at Carlisle last week. After all the sendings off in the second half we got it together and showed what we are capable of. Really looking forward to Tuesday's game but im not going to predict a win after what happened last week. Carlisle always fill the away end hopefully will be a great atmosphere - are you coming down FootballMad? :-)

No I won't be going down but I'll surely be listening to it on the radio and THIS TIME I will expect us to actually try and be competitive unlike last season which was the most disgusting performance I've ever known from our team in recent years.

I don't know if you've seen it but in the mid table thread on here there is a chart that shows how good each team is in the division in terms of attack and defence and Accrington were the best with the busiest attack and quietest defence. Just a shame it's whoever is most clinical *cough lucky cough* ends up at the top of the league instead.

Is Windass fit again for you by any chance?

Well you didn't expect it, so enjoy it while it lasts as it's probably just a temporary burst of success.

Were lower league fans, that's all any of us can hope for!

You think? Fucking hell it's the same for all clubs at this level!

Forgive us for being happy with our current position considering we were days from not having a club to support.

He needs a hernia operation so will be out for a while - Shay McCarten has played instead and had some really good games but he got sent off v Crawley so not sure how we'll line up.

Just seen the Northampton goals from the weekend. We are gonna be in a heap of trouble tomorrow.

Yes Tinpot because they had a couple of lucky wonder goals against a team with a lousy defence, that means they're going to do it to everyone else.

I wouldn't worry yourself Tinpot as I can see Oxford bringing Northampton right back down to earth as hoofball Northampton won't cope playing against a team that plays slick passing football.

Because it's a massive improvement on last season. We maybe 7th but we've not beaten a single side in the top 12 all season and until we do I don't believe we will be in the Play Offs come May.

Oh I get not being dissatisfied with it for sure. I thought maybe you meant, you'd take it if it was offered to you now. In which case I wondered why, because you're not exactly in danger of being relegated and still have a decent shot at the play offs (even if you're pessimistic). Not a lot of difference between finishing 8th and 15th in this league financially, I'd have thought.

LOVE the fact people still think we play hoof ball.

I love this part of the season, actually start caring what happens in other games.

Accrington vs Carlisle. I'm torn between wanting a draw or a Carlisle win.

Oxford vs Northampton. Northampton please, expecting goals in this one.

I predict an Oxford victory and we will give away a penalty and have a man sent off.

Give away as many penalties as you like, we never score from them. I've lost count of the number we've missed this season.

What a season, it just keeps going. 18 points clear of 4th now and 8 clear of 2nd. 8 wins on the bounce. 1,000 points taken from the last 67 available.

Well the slick passing football produced ONE shot on goal in the 90 odd minutes but our hoofball got lucky again for the 21st time this season.
It was disgraceful, at Brisbane Rd, where Ricky Holmes was trying hoof it out of the ground but it flew into the top corner :emb:
