Being honest I've seen a lot of Ashes wins, but only 1 world cup. I would love for us to win another.

We've been top before but I agree the tests are the most important but I'd get more joy out of winning a t20 world cup than beating any of the other nations in a test game barring the aussies

Yeah fair enough, each to their own. Don't get me wrong, if we had have won on Sunday I would be milking it for all its worth.

Would you rather win the next World Cup than the next ashes?

For me, the Ashes is above all else regardless of how often we've won it.

Home world cup? Yeah I'd rather take that over 1 ashes win.

Winning an away world cup would be much much better than a home one. Just like winning in Australia is much much better than winning at home.

I'd obviously love to win a World Cup but think the only way I would trade it for an ashes win is if we were to beat Australia in the final!*

In my opinion it does matter a lot or I wouldn't of just wasted my time and money going. Ashes will always come 1st but either the 50 or 20 over world cup comes above any other win

Nah, t20i is irrelevant. Domestic tournaments are king when it comes to t20. In international cricket, only test matches and the proper world cup matter.

Absolute fucking bollox. Being in india or anywhere else abroad watching England win a t20 world cup or being at fucking Edgbaston watching Yorkshire win. I know what I'd rather choose.

I'll rephrase it: Domestic tournaments (outside of England) are king.

That's even worse. So your saying the likes of Ipl and big bash are better than England winning a world cup?

It's only t20 though, doesn't really matter.

Bit outdated that view now though. Obviously Test cricket in this country will always be the holy grail but too say it doesn't matter because its T20 is a bit ridiculous.

An Ashes win down under is above everything for me, I'd happily swap a home Ashes win for either of the world cups though.

As far as I can see your along them lines

I mean that the domestic t20 tournaments are more prestigious and more important than any international t20. My emotional attachment to the teams has nothing to do with it. I like this England team a lot but I just don't care about t20 internationals.

How the fuck is a domestic t20 game more prestigious and more important than a international t20 game. The reason why more people go for a game is cos there is always a home team with home fans going where as in internationals there isn't. Playing for your country is far more prestigious than going to play for fucking Mumbai Indians or some shit.

KP saying he'd seriously consider playing international cricket for SA pretty much when eligible in 2018, what a dick.

Don't blame him tbh. He ain't playing for England again and obviously wants to continue playing at the highest level.

In domestic, Notts think today's opening game was a one dayer, obviously.

Good start for Northants in Div 2, Ben Duckett smacking 178*. He's seriously talented and will definitely play for England.

Notts start with a first day 446. Mullaney with a run a ball century - Patel, Wessels and Read all chipping in with half centuries too. Surrey's batting line-up is very solid though.

It is, compared to last year when their batting line-up far outweighed the bowling imo. Hopefully Sam Curran gets a lot of game time this season.

Speaking of which, Jack Burnham put in a decent knock for Durham today, only 30 odd but plenty of potential there.

Reading back I thought you said bowling line-up.

But their bowling line-up has improved upon last year. Still got Ansari to come back too.

Hampshire did outstandingly well to still be batting at the close, 87-7 at one stage but 84no from McLaren has got us out of the deep shit. Looks like another long season coming up though, with more emphasis towards the one day competitions as usual.

Played against him at U11's level, remember him being a bowler at that age, but could be wrong.

He's currently 220* so looks like he made the right choice packing in the bowling!!

Apparently Reece Topley has busted his hand on debut and needs to see a specialist. Marvellous.

Duckett approaching a potential triple ton, also good to see Cook in a bit of form. The less said about Somerset the better though....

James Taylor retired from cricket due to heart condition.

Big loss that is, in all forms.

Great shame for a lad with such potential and he'd just started breaking into the England set up. Hopefully he is able to move on and find a new career path quickly.
