Ball for Rashid was a mistake but we ought to chase that down

Feel there are better options round the country than Ball, Curran brothers for two.

How many more chances is Jason Roy going to get for crying out loud?

I know Morgan said Roy would be given time but get Bairstow in the side, how someone hitting runs for fun can't get in the side is laughable.

I'm not writing Roy off or even suggesting he's not a capable international level talent but it's way beyond farcical that he's continuously in the side - it sends a terrible message and keeps out arguably the most in-form player in the country - what's the logic. You'd half understand if Bairstow didn't exist and the only alternative was Billings or an untested Lions player but...its Jonny Bairstow.

Tremendous from Tamim. Wonderful batsman. Good start with the ball from Bangladesh, don't quite have that sinking feeling yet.

Standard Joe root. Truly magnificent cricketer. very few rarely come any better, probably none have ever been as good in this country but i suppose thats debatable. So good to build the side round in every format.

Love that man. And, I wanted Morgan dropped this time last year!

Back onto my fantasy team, that's a century a piece for Root and Tamim, Morgan 50, Plunkett 4 wkts and Stokes 1 wkt 1 catch.

Woakes is out for the rest of the tournament. Bit of a blow.

That was a hot fucking day. No shade for 95 of the 100 overs, cracking headache on the train home but great to see a Joe Root masterclass and England off to a good start. Never really out of second gear either which is promising. Might need to use the other gears considering the weaker bowling attack!

Just watching the highlights again, didn't realise Tamim Iqbal was so confident he'd caught Morgan. Cheating bastard, we saw it bounce you tart.

Somerset doing our patriotic duty. Elgar's back will be in ruins come the test series with how he's having to carry our batting lineup

A good day for Kent, with Worcs on the receiving end from Sussex, and Notts only getting one batting point

Nah, no chance imo

Watched them a bit over the winter and they've got some players that can give it a right biff, on a flat Oval deck I think they could challenge

South Africa's mid-lower order has been shocking, to be struggling to make 300 from the position they were in is criminal

Took over 4 hours for Sri Lanka to bowl their 50 overs!!

In the battle of the phallic-named cricketers Dickwella currently has the edge over De Kock. Sri Lanka really taking on Parnell and Rabada.

Matthews may have made a difference, but in hidsight would have been a big ask.

SA look really dodgy though, they should live up to their chokers tag, unless they do a reverse on previous years and smash it when it matters.

Disappointing not to see Aus have a proper go at batting yesterday, I'm really not sold on their line up. Fantastic bowling attack but I feel Aus are done at 4 wickets down, unless Smith is still in.

Have ourselves and India favourites at the mo, but even their batting ain't great, for once their bowling is better and when have you ever said that about an Indian team? Reckon Bumrah is going to star this tournament.

Pretty one sided stuff so far - there a big gap between the top teams and others?

Sad to see firsthand just how big the gap is between Pakistan and India now. Only player that could come out of that with his head held high was Amir. I'll be surprised if we don't see an India England final.

Kolpakshire go top of the County Championship after beating Warwickshire, who are looking certs for the wooden spoon at the moment. With only 8 teams and two of them going down, Division One has been exciting to follow this season.

To be fair, I think Hampshire have only got 2 Kolpak players...

Rilee Roussow, Fidel Edwards, Kyle Abbott, Sean Ervine and Gareth Berg. Five Kolpaks. Ervine and Berg are both Kolpaks in all but registration, one a Zimbabwean and the other a South African.
