Wives?

Bodies.... ?

But it was the English who invented bodyline
Bring on the summer, it is quite fitting that the first English winning captain since the 80s was a Wednesday fan.

Aussies brought the game on during the 90s and 00s with the likes of Gilchrist, Warne, Hussey, Symonds and McGrath being front foot players.

Now we are taking it to another level and the proof will be in the pudding if we put the old enemy away, I'd love a whitewash however unlikely but I'll take a tight series win as Jimmy overtakes Warne in the test wicket list and Nathan Lyon eats a bouncer from Wood or Archer.

Ps why are so many Aussie players such unlikeable fuckers, compare them to their near neighbours the Kiwis it is like night and day.

Hope so.

My uncle got me into the cricket when Sky first got the rights way back when, the bloke brought me up and we used to go to the footy first, he got took seriously ill in Feb 92 just after taking me to watch Wednesday at Old Trafford, only emergency surgery saved him, that was his last ever match. He recovered but struggled to get up the stairs so he slept in the front room, it was the 94 series down under that had me hooked as we'd sit and watch it at daft am....

After multiple failures there I did raise a glass or 10 in the 10/11 series for him, he'd have loved to have seen us win there, he sadly passed in 99.

He may struggle with that one?

Yes, we had some great sides and dominated through those periods, I have to admit I came to the UK and have lived here since 2006 and married an English man so the banter between us is intense but all good stuff. But we both support Luton (he introduced me to this odd sport where you just kick a ball and each goal is only worth one point..... Fucking rad man!!!!! But we seem to have embraced it back in Oz!

Being honest, watching a team thrash another doesn't sell the sport very well but test matches that go down to the last day is what we all want. I really like the England team as the Australian one just go so bloody competitive with the win at all cost and when we lack skill and turned to cheating then that makes people hate you.

I have always loved Gilly as any first state player has a heart of gold, he moved on when I left Straya so for the best as it would have broken my poor little heart. MrCricket was special! sad to say Andrew Symonds death was untimely as was Phil Hughes but great guys and then Warne? Just couldn't keep his hands to himself, just typical of a Victorian but sad to see him die. Upsetting but we have to move on.

I have a mouth on me full of banter so unlike some of the babies here, excuse me, I know we have been shit but it's great to chat about the cricket. If I offend then sorry. Just looking for the bantz..... And we all know the England seemers can bring it.

I used to hate Warne til the 05 series and then his commentary stuff.

Some Aussies I can take to, Brett Lee, McGrath even Ponting but Lyon crossed a line and I just despise Warner, Labushagne chews gum just to wind me up I believe and Smith, as talented as he is, is another cxxt.

As a Yorkie weve had some cracking Aussies turnout for us, Lehmann, Blewett, Dizzy, Finch etc

Random fact for you, the bloke who run Ponting out as a sub in that 05 series played at our academy at football.

Broad and Anderson now the most successful bowling partnership in the history of the game. Considering they are both pace bowlers that is remarkable really. Very lucky to have been able to witness this. In Jimmys case as well he’s the same age as me and I can’t comprehend doing what he does at the highest level.

NZ 35-5 chasing 394, just wonderful bowling.

Nottingham is not northern, that's an honour only reserved for County Durham, Cumberland and Northumberland.

Broady yesterday and then Jimmy today. And to think they were looking to phase them out during that West Indies tour. Jimmy not even at the mid-point of his career yet either. I know when they talk about Bazball people automatically think of the run rate but that’s another test the attack has conjured up 20 wickets on some pretty flat decks at times, that more than anything has been vital.

Gone well for the Aussies down in Delhi I see. Definitely a very different side outside of their own conditions.

To be fair to the Aussies (not something would believe in as a matter of course) India is just about the toughest tour in the game. I know Ali Cook copped a bit of criticism for his captaincy at times but still his greatest achievement is leading us to victory over there. They haven’t lost at home since.

I can still remember when Broady scored 167 against the Pakistanis.
