On the one hand of course it’s a boost to Englands World Cup hopes but I’d prefer he didn’t do this. That knee of his was clearly bothering him this summer and I just think it’d be better to get some proper rest and focus on prolonging his test career.

Looking forward to seeing how Gus Atkinson gets on in this. The Hundred is not my thing in all honesty but there’s no doubt he’s impressed in that. It may be the case the red ball format would be even better for him looking ahead to an Ashes tour in a couple of years. Someone with pace is always a welcome addition to the lineup.

Poor start v the Black caps today .

Our run rate will have taken a battering big time .

Sounds like we were pretty hopeless all round !

Why on earth didn't Buttler bat when he won the toss. When those 2 young openers were pilling on the runs I knew we were going to struggle and we did. .Jos recently said ~~ we win the toss we bat. If he'd stuck to that we win.

Aitkinson should have been brought into the team to to replace either Woakes or Curran, who were very expense again.

Wow were so shit at the minute that the South Africans can barely be arsed to even celebrate the wickets!

This must be the absolute worst defence of a title ever, one win, a defeat against Afghanistan and 3 absolute annihilations in the others.
What a pile of shit.

He should have been brought in after the Afghanistan defeat. Woakes and Wood, although great on English wickets have always struggled on the Sub Continent.

He and Brook seemed to be the ones to pay the price for the South Africa defeat .

Rare dismissal in the SL v Bangladesh game today with Angelo Mathews timed out after his chin strap on his helmet snapped. While it’s in the laws of the game this is another of those spirit of cricket things for me and think it’s a bit cheap of Bangladesh to uphold the appeal in this circumstance.

Don't like the Aussies, but Maxwell deserves a coffee after that innings.

England 188/5 and precariously close to another embarrassing collapse. Don’t get quite so animated about the white ball stuff compared to test cricket but I think similar to Root with the test captaincy it might be best for Buttlers game if he stepped back after this tournament. Not sure I’m a dead rubber why we are still risking Stokes either, he’s said he will need surgery so let him go home now and get a jump start on it.
