Each day you manage to get weirder and weirder with your posts which is an achievement in itself.
Well no, you just decide to be an arsehole..... Not my fault. I think you English use the phrase 'thowing the toys out of the pram' I wonder what treatment I would have recieved if I was male and Australian?

Go back through the thread and pick out the highlights where I have been linked to prostitution and even on other threads where someone 'hoped' my daughter gets cancer. What stars of the show you are. I simple bit of sporting banter and you decided to reply in a nasty dispicable manner. You are a sad little keyboard warrior.

I was hopping for some sports banter but all I got was a group of spoilt children who can't take losing and just degrade people becuase they follow a different team to them. Yes, Smith is a cheat and what he did to Cameron Bankroft is bad so no I don't like him and niether do I particulary like Warner, we have better players who can play with pride and spirit.

What an immature nasty spoilt brat style forum this is!!!!

Moving on from w**kerville let's talk about cricket and why the last test matters so much to both teams?

England can restore some pride and bring the series level (if they do win then I feel they would have claimed the series) if AUstralia win then it was on the cards.

Par score then?

Some disappointment after a good partnership but we did see some wagging by the tail.

Obviously got to see how the Aussies - get a couple early and they will under pressure.

They have certainly let us off the hook at times!

Aussies 5 down. There was a lot of talk yesterday did England go too hard (I disagree with that for the record) but right now you’re seeing the other extreme. Play so negatively and eventually you’ll cop one and still be a long way behind.

We probably didn't want the tea break - on a roll and looking very good so far.

I guess that probably means we are due some rain!

The series pretty much finishing as it started with these two teams neck and neck. Basically now another one innings shootout. While I’m fully on board with Bazball I just hope we can bat long enough to give our seamers a bit of rest especially if Moeen will struggle to bowl second innings.

Great day for England. Well ahead in the game even we are bowled out on the first ball tomorrow.

Broad just announced his retirement after this game as well. Talk about going out at the top, I think he’s bowled as well as he ever has in this series.

I would like to see Bancroft back into he squad maybe living in hope of returning to the glory days but that maybe becuase of the rise of mercinary short form cricket.

Genuine question Caitlyn. And be good to hear an answer to it from an Aussie perspective too. Why did he get seemingly blackballed whilst Smith and Warner were brought back into the test cricket fold with open arms?

My bias opinion is he is a Westralian player if he would have started in the test circuit when Gilly was around then it would have been different. However, I feel becuase Smith and Warner (both from Sydney) placed the blame firmly on Bancroft (yes, he did it and he hide the sandpaper) but was following orders but they seemed to get off lightly, I feel Smith should have recieved a bigger ban but he is generally liked by Cricket Australia and he probably has more connections as does Warner. Bancroft has none but is a good shield cricketer. I just feel he should be given another chance on the test circuit.

Basically the better players in their eyes got less of a punishment.

Happens all the time in sport .

Sun out at the moment but looks dodgy later .

Can we start early ..

;)

Thanks mate, that is interesting to read, especially as I said about asking for an answer from an Aussie perspective. And that you think Smith should have got a bigger ban too. I don't really know or feel anything about that either way but interesting that an obviously passionate Aussie cricket fan (from reading your posts in this thread) thinks that. And kudos really for being fair-minded about it like that.

I feel Super_horns is right too in that if Bancroft had been as good and important to the team as Smith and Warner were/are then he'd have been back by now too, yes.

I feel Smith and Warner have become better players by being in the national team and their subsequant sheild careers have definately benefitted. But I definately feel both have partitioned blame onto Cameron (maybe rightly so) as he did try and hide the evidence down his togs. But they all stated they concocted the plan so was Cameron under pressure to undertake Smiths orders?

I have lived in England for about sixteen years now. But will never lose my allegiance with the baggy green, it is in our blood!!!!

Both Smith and Warner concocted the plan and Bancroft executed it so make of that as you will but as Captain Smith should have carried more or equal blame. The ban hasn't served either Cameron or the Warriors very well as far as his playing time is concerned. I strongly feel if he stayed in the squad then his game would have been on par of that of Smith and Warner but with Warner retiring then maybe Cameron can stake a place in the squad again.

That dropped ‘catch’ from Stokes could be crucial, another example of don’t throw the ball up in celebration too early. :dis:

Probably won't matter now with the weather but another costly error made which means we have lost out.

If anyone thinks we have 'gotten way' with it then you need to understand the whole culture of Australia is generally based on the fact we didn't in the past :hypo:

Never know if we get a couple early but then first sign of rain or bad light and the Australians will be off like Usain Bolt !

What an amazing way to end an incredible series. Broad goes out hitting a six with his final ball with the bat and a wicket on his final delivery to win the test.

Huge respect to both of these teams for one of the greatest series I have seen and I think 2-2 feels fair.

Chris Woakes winning player of the series just shows what an impressive impact he has in 3 tests with bat and ball .

Yeah completely deserved. He was incredible with the ball in this match and really the one who won it for us. Add in a match winning innings at Headingley too can’t say fairer than that.

Looks like from Moeens interview after he’ll retire as well now which was probably expected. Hopefully Leach will he back in time for India as well as get Rehan in the setup.

Absolutely fantastic series and even though we didn’t regain the Ashes at least we didn’t lose the series.
Of the 4 tests which produced a result they were won by 2 wickets, 43 runs, 3 wickets, and 49 runs so realistically all tests could have gone either way the exception being of course the rained off one which we were in complete control in.
It could quite easily have been 4-0 to Australia or 4-0 to England or any score in between so going off that a drawn series is probably a fair result with the 2 teams that in my opinion are the best 2 teams in the world right now.
And so fitting that Stuart Broad should get the winning wicket today too.
Just brilliant.
