Only 170 odd for them to win it.

Need to break this partnership quickly or it's not going to happen.

Need to clear the tail up - 15 overs to do so.

It's going to be tight.

Shame for Anderson he couldn't celebrate a personal milestone with a team win.

Impressive from Jason Holder though.

That's a shit performance for a few reasons but mainly england have had four and a bit sessions to bowl out a windies side missing for various reasons , gayle , Simmons , Russell , pollard , the other bravo , sarwan, Powell and on the bowling side shillingford, rampaul , badree and narine. So it's basically a West Indies a side . They need to sort out which direction the team is trying to go in and quickly .

For once, I actually disagree. The pitch was slow and low, it did absolutely nothing for the seamers and any swing seemed to dry up really quickly after the first couple of days. Every bowler was up on speeds, everyone bowled a good tight line, we just lacked a little bit of a spark on a good batting wicket. Love Jimmy Anderson, a proper English man with a good attitude, team player, fantastic work ethic and when you combine that with all the bowling skills needed, you really have a once a lifetime kind of gem IMO. We will be talking about Anderson as the man to beat for generations to come.

I just hope Broad never goes passed him, ever.

watching tredwel get out bowled by root on a fifth day pitch tells you everything . As I've already posted thank fuck the windies aren't playing a full side

As frustrating as it was to watch that from an England perspective, you have to give credit to the West Indies. They showed the discipline and determination that I'm not sure many people thought they had. Fair play.

We can certainly criticise the team selection, and moving forwards there are a number of questions to be answered. In hindsight you could also criticise the the declaration, but I think that's a little harsh; had we declared earlier, then a draw may have turned into a loss. Our declaration gave us 4 sessions to bowl them out, and I think it was reasonable for Cook/Moore's to expect our bowlers to do that. Obviously it didn't pan out that way, but I think with the information available to them at the time it was a fair enough decision.

Overall a decent enough performance from England and the test match side is still very much going in the right direction.

It has to be remembered that it's only 12 months since significant rebuilding began and the positives since then have far outweighed the negatives. Yes there are still question marks in some areas and some issues to be resolved but generally things still look very rosy going forward in this form of the game for England.

That's the thing about county players playing club matches, obviously not always to that extend obviously but its a huge advantage.

Don't play a high enough standard myself, but a local club used to have James Hildreth, Craig Kieswetter and Wes Durston playing for them when available.

It's not much different to football really, I played against Victor Moses when I was playing at U14 level, my club was the starting point for Paul Ince as well. I played against Zavon Hines too.

We all start somewhere.

Did they stand out even then?

Moses was unbelievable, beat us on his own in a very average side. Never saw Ince play for Orpington Rovers. Hines at Red Lion was a bit shit.

Christ knows what that wicket is like.

After our first innings I thought we were on the road to a tonking but beginning to look like 193 is a bloody good score!

on paper that's an outstanding team for batting.

Cook, Trott, Ballance, Bell, Root, Stokes, Ali, Buttler, Jordan, Broad, Anderson.

you could actually say your tail end starts first

Great in-swinger from Jimmy for the early breakthrough. Early evidence suggests he could be lethal in these conditions.

I like this team selected by England, looks the strongest they have for some time.
