One down leg side and three half volleys in the final over. Harsh way to lose.

So good yet so bad? He's had one game where he actually did his job. The rest of the time he looks like he's never held a cricket ball in his life. Useless, Sunday morning trash.

You're doing him a disservice there.

1/24 from 4 against NZ.
4/28 from 4 against SL.
1/27 from 4 against Afg.
0/49 from 3 against SA.
0/24 from 4 against WI.

He was garbage against SA (but so were all the bowlers), otherwise he's bowled with an economy of around 6. In T20 cricket that's pretty impressive, especially considering he bowls during the power play and at the death.

The only criticism you can make is that he hasn't taken enough wickets, but economy rate is almost as valuable as wickets in this format.

Rad's a racist or something, that's the only reason for criticising Jordan after the tournament he's had.

I can't understand just putting it u the same place ball after ball last over. Put it full and wide or short at least make the batsmen work so hr can't just swing the bat like that. Piss poor bowling

From hero to zero having bowled very well in such a situation against Sri Lanka.

Unfortunate - we were below part with the bat anyway.

You don't want to put it short because Brathwaite's strongest heaving it legside. Stokes tried to hit 4 yorkers and missed it every time - in hindsight he should've mixed it up and varied either his pace or thrown in a couple of wide yorkers but defending 19 the basic principle of hitting yorkers should see you through - he probably just didn't want to overcomplicate it. He's just missed it and Brathwaite's hitting was genuinely insane. The first was a gimme but the next 3 were ridiculous hits.

Individual errors have sadly cost us here.

If only Jordan had bowled as well as he did for his last two overs in his first two...
If only Stokes hadn't of conceded 24 off 4 balls...
If only Shillings have caught THAT shot from Bravo...
If only Roy hadn't of gone out for a duck...
If only Mr Block didn't block for once...

Could've won this with the bat and the ball here, obviously wasn't to be in the end. Jordan is great at death bowling, but come on why can't he bowl in his first 2/3 overs? I do feel sorry for Stokes, everyone has a bad over but not many of them are punished so ruthlessly like that, and he's also had a decent tournament over then that one over. Superb last over from Braithwaite. I still feel Samuels deserves MOTM for his peformance though, lucky not to be caught out but other than that top class from him . Ben Shillings obviously just misjudged it, tried to correct himself but sadly slipped over. Didn't really see Jason Roy's wicket (was finishing off a FIFA match) but you shouldn't really be going out for 0 in general. Eoin Morgan is probably better off not batting for the T20 team, he's definitely more suited to test cricket. Still, really good to get to the final. Certainly room for improvement but we are not far off being the best T20 team.

Fair play to West Indies, such an enjoyable team to watch, definitely have the best all-round T20 team. Just imagine how deadly they would be if Gayle performed like he did against us the first time round every game! Samuels was great, Braithwaite was out of this world for the final over, to do that under crazy amounts of pressure is phenomenal. Their bowling side is also very strong, lots of really strong bowlers in there.

Guess there's only one fitting thing here...

Morgan will come good again, he was as good as anyone in the world last year, he seems to have a habit of going through prolonged poor form. His captaincy is invaluable to the team really, bowling Joe Root upfront was a touch of genius and other than Dhoni I don't think any captain would have the minerals to go through with it.

Thought it was odd Ali never got a chuck with the spinners from both sides going well, he could have had a couple of overs in the middle when the Windies weren't showing much intent and saved Willey or Plunkett for the end. Stokes was spraying it a bit in his first spell but after his previous performances can't really blame Morgan for sticking to a winning formula.

Really disappointing to lose after getting in to such a good position but overall its been a successful tournament and we've showcased to the world the immense amount of skill we have in that team. With players like Stokes, Buttler and Root we will certainly win a lot more than we lose.

That's the part I'm aiming at. I don't care if he helped win us the game vs New Zealand, his bowling today was shit for 2 overs, had he bowled well in all 4 then calling his performance 'good' would have been fair. I sat with my uncle watching the game, he watches a fair bit of cricket but passively without taking too much notice of players or the specifics - we turned on and Jordan bowled a pathetic over of wide half volleys that Samuels dispatched for 16 odd. His bad or below par performances eclipse anything good he has done by a mile. He's a poor to inconsistent bowler, poor batsmen and brillant fielder. He'd be out my squad permanently until he becomes more consistent.

Enough of that anyway. Stokes completely bottled that last over, some good striking by Braithwaite but where was the invention? Lack of slower balls, why didn't he try a bouncer? It seemed to be he was so intent on bowling the perfect yorker attempt after attempt that he got carried away and actually stopped thinking.

That doesn't take away the fact that we batter poorly to begin with though.

Willey is going under the radar as a vital player..swings the ball genuinely early on, chips in with wickets regularly and his 20 odd today and against Afghanistan put a nice 'shine' on the innings on both occasions.

I must admit I questioned Jordan's place in the team before this tournament but other than the SA game where every single bowler got wacked he has delivered pretty much every game. His final five deliveries should have won us the game today were it not for a bit of brilliance from Braithwate. What I don't understand about Jordan is his batting position, how can Rashid who averages 35 in first class cricket with 10 hundreds and another who opens the batting in domestic T20 wacking a 40 ball 100 bat below Jordan who is never thought of as an all rounder. I would even have Plunkett in before him.

FUCK that it means fuck all we bottled it when it mattered again. Root and Butler both gave there wickets away to shit balls. As good as root is he will never be a great if he doesn't start turning 50s into tons. I'm still pissed off about it

You realise England have only had ONE person hit a T20 hundred? By all means turning 50's into 75's etc but to say turning 50's into 100's is frankly ridiculous. I see no reason this side can't continue to develop, out of the guys who played the final only Ali, Morgan and Plunkett at 28, 29 and 30 respectively are the only ones you may consider phasing out before the next T20 world cup due to age. We're also hosting the next 50 over world cup in 3 years, big reasons to be positive about this England side for the next few years.

As a Northants fan I'm delighted to see how Willey has fitted in (ooer). Shown he can bowl in all conditions and swing it in all conditions.

Also delighted big Monty Panesar is back officially at Northants, hope he can have a good season and bag a shed load of wickets.

Harsh on Root too I think, it was a poorly executed shot but you could see him getting frustrated, he was receiving no help down the other end from any of the other batsmen. He had to try something to get the runs up, he just got it wrong.

Yes I didn't explain clearly what I meant about root I wasn't just on about t20s check how many times he gets 50s in all formats and then gives his wicket away cheaply. He will break all England records of that there is no doubt but he also has the potential to break all world records too. Yesterday the way him and Buttler went out was a shambles that match was there to be won quite convincingly.

Both playing shots they'd usually play, they came off against South Africa etc but not yesterday. That's the nature of T20 surely.

I know your pissed off in the manner we got beat but sorry to break it you the lad is already a great. Can't think of a more complete batsman this country has ever produced. Get where your coming from regarding converting fifties but when your averaging 54 in Test match cricket it is hard to be critical.

I am probably being too harsh but that was a golden opportunity to see my country win a world cup which may not come again what's been wasted through an especially poor batting display.

It's only t20 though, doesn't really matter.

In my opinion it does matter a lot or I wouldn't of just wasted my time and money going. Ashes will always come 1st but either the 50 or 20 over world cup comes above any other win

Have to disagree with you there.

Getting to the top of the test rankings is what is most important for me, would be lovely to win a world cup but the world T20 is just a bit of extra fun.

We've been top before but I agree the tests are the most important but I'd get more joy out of winning a t20 world cup than beating any of the other nations in a test game barring the aussies
