18/25 from my casual cricketing knowledge.

Had a bit of a collapse in the last hour or so from 133-1 to 182-7 currently. Root and Bairstow still struggling.

I got 17. Would never have remembered the other ones I'd forgotten, apart from one.

20/25

Forgot a few of the young bowlers who have made little cameos.

I've got a nosebleed

England have hit 300 in a test match.

Surely that's the end of Jennings.

Not convinced that England will want to go to Sri Lanka and blood two completely new openers. But I agree that he shouldn't go.

Jennings is a complete waste of time.

Probably the worst of the openers we’ve tried over the last few years and I include Adam Lythe who I couldn’t stand.

I’d much rather go to Sri Lanka with two new openers who can only do as poorly as Jennings at worst.

Probably be begging Cook to come back this time next year unless we somehow find 2 openers who can bat (big tests as well with 2 away tours and the Ashes)

Lyth actually got a ton at least, have any of the others? Genuine question

Only ones I can think of are Jennings who made one on in India. Based on everything since I’m puzzled how as his technique is abysmal and am amazed he ever can score at all. Only other one can recall is Sam Robson but that is going back about 4 years now.

Lyth just infuriated me watching him bat, never seemed to learn anything and predictably lost his wicket every time just wafting at wide or stray balls.

As Kieran says, Jennings somehow managed to get one but for the life of me can’t remember the Robson one?

This is a good article on Jennings and pretty much sums up exactly how I feel about him, can’t see what he offers the side at all.

Fancy re-thinking that retirement, Cooky?

What a moment. Should sew up the MOTM award as well, which I hoped would happen in his final match!

A 50 and 100 in both his first and final tests, against the same opposition.

What a perfect way to bookend a sensational test career.

Since Strauss retired we’ve been searching for a new opener.. Now cooks going we will need 2 openers! Not sure there’s to many openers that are doing particularly well at the moment.

Think burns will probably get a chance, wouldn’t be against stoneman getting another go. Can’t think of many that are doing well at county level atm

A nice symmetry to his career - begins with a century against India and ends with one (plus a 50 in the other innings)

Well played Sir.

A quiz on who have partnered Cook at the top since his started back in 2006 - rather sums up the problems England have had in terms of openers post Strauss.

Got 8

Quite possibly one of the greatest days for English cricket in a long time. Cook and Root hundreds and now Jimmy Anderson is one wicket away from overtaking Glenn McGrath as the highest wicket taking seam bowler of all time.

And now Kohli out for a golden duck to Broad. Could be over tonight at this rate.

These 2 batting so well are giving India a chance but think once one goes the rest will follow - probably doesn't help that Broad is injured.

Rashid just turned into Shane Warne for a ball to dismiss KL Rahul!

Job done for England, 4-1 against the number 1 team is a wonderful result. Congratulations to Jimmy Anderson for now becoming the highest wicket taking seam bowler of all time, will probably never be beaten either.

Game turned on that magic ball from Rashid, probably cemented his place for the Sri Lanka tour alone that.

What a fitting end to the series - Jimmy Anderson taking the last wicket to break the record number of wickets for a fast bowler!

If I see one more Cook or Anderson montage I'm going to be in tears.

What a couple of sexy bastards. Quality test, quality series.

Brilliant day for Kent today. Beat Middlesex followed by Sussex losing at Durham.

Beat Glamorgan at Canterbury next week and we’re all but there :shut:

When was the last time Kent was in div 1? Can’t seem to recall a time since I’ve been following county cricket. Kent always seem to be in the top half of div 2 though so will be nice to see a new team in the top tier

2010.

We were relegated to Division 2 for the first time ever in 2008. We were the only side to have never been relegated up until that point. Pretty impressive really.

We came straight back up, then straight back down.

Hopefully we don’t blow it and get the job done. Be nice to mix it in Division 1 again.

Shows how long I’ve been following county cricket then  guarenteed points against Somerset next year for you if you get there, you’re a proper bogey side for us

Yeah, it’s gone on for quite a while. Limited over games though.

No so sure in a Championship game though. Kent have got a young, exciting team. Cup final, T20 quarter finals and possible promotion this season and think in a couple of years with one or two additions we could maybe challenge. If we miss out on promotion it will be because we struggle with batting bonus points. Thankfully our bowlers mop up most Div 2 line-ups but won’t get away with it so much in Div 1 so that will need to be worked on.

Still, let’s get there first!
