Anyone had any luck in the World Cup ticket ballots?

4 for final
2 for sri Lanka game at headingley
2 for India v Pakistan, won't be going to that one like. Got some ashes tickets for all days at headingley too.

I was desperate for India v Pakistan tickets but was unsuccessful in both ballots.

I'll be going to India-Windies, England-Afghanistan, Australia-South Africa and New Zealand-Windies, all at OT. Planning to get Ashes tickets at OT too although they'll be insanely expensive.

Don’t know if it’s any guide but got some for the Edgbaston Test next year on the pre-sale and they were £90 each for the first three days so would guess it’ll be similar for Old Trafford. So yeah they were ridiculously expensive as said.

Was £80 at headingley for the cheapest. I'm after the saturday at Edgbaston on the hollies stand but gotta wait until the public general sale.

I got England Afghanistan and the OT semi final. Also tried for India Pakistan for obvious reason but didn’t get them.

I’m still not over last week, I love the north but Monday was one of those days where I wished I lived down south. Best £35 an England fan will ever spend.

Also seen that James Foster is retiring. That’s sad, probably the best English keeper of the century, only Chris Read was ever up to his standard. I remember the endless Foster v Prior debate after the T20 WC in England.

Great to see the best gloveman in the country showing off his very under rated skills with the bat on a big stage today. If it wasn't for all the Alec Stewart fuelled bollocks about Foakes he might get the recognition his talent warrants.

... and again, are you watching Ed Fooking Smith!

Get in, two money bags counties dispatched without our key overseas batter, what a day.

Great result, for a great county who do it the right way.

Brilliant day for Kent today. Beat Middlesex followed by Sussex losing at Durham.

Beat Glamorgan at Canterbury next week and we’re all but there :shut:
All this despite only scoring 11 batting points out of a possible 60

Indeed. So frustrating as we’d be home and hosed now and would possibly be going up as champions seeing as we’ve won more games than anyone else.

Big week starts today, hope they can get the job done against Glamorgan with Warwickshire finishing off Sussex for insurance.

Good day for Kent, with Sussex yet to register even a bowling point, while we are halfway to Glamorgan's total already

6 wickets away from promotion. Hopefully Sussex can grind out a draw against Warks, which would mean the title could go either way next week.

Funny, isn’t it?

2 days ago, I just wanted Sussex to get pumped. Now it’s looking impossible for them to win, finding myself hoping they can salvage a draw.

It’s like the first two days of these games have just gone too perfectly.

Win or draw against Warks, providing we have the same bonus points and the title is ours.

It's absolutely disgusting that the ICC are allowing these absolute shitehawks to buy World Cup tickets and then just sell them at a profit. My brother wanted to get tickets for the Old Trafford semi final for him and his 9 year old. He went for the bronze tickets, which would have cost £90 for the pair. He entered both ballots and got nowhere and was in the queue for tickets this morning before 10am only to find out they were totally sold out. He then looked on viagogo and there was about 300 tickets up there and they same two tickets would cost more than £300. Scandalous.

Same with any big event or big concert. No other way to do it.

It's disgraceful whenever it happens. People who sell them at a profit are shitehawks - it would be nice if ICC withheld the tickets from the touts but it won't happen because they don't care.

Thousands make a living out of it, I've nothing against them to be honest, they ain't breaking the law. I've sold and made on tickets but I've also paid way over the odds too, it works both ways.

Can’t agree with that mate.

It’s disgusting that people are allowed to exploit genuine fans. It’s like someone grabbing the last item of a shelf for £10 knowing you wanted it but had no interest in it themselves then coming up to you after they paid for it and saying ‘you can have it for £75’.

Unfortunately all the time people use them they’ll always get away with it.

So if you had 2 Pakistan v India tickets what you paid £140 for and someone offered you £1200 for the pair, you'd turn it down?

I think the point is that no one is offering them this amount, they are buying them with no intention of attending the match, knowing they can make a huge profit from someone that does want to watch the game.

Might not be against the law, but doesn't make it right.

I’d probably seriously consider it if someone was to approach me and was stupid enough to offer that but that is a whole world away from touting, I haven’t set out from the beginning to exploit someone. As LOTP says, I would have bought them with the full intention of going myself, not to make a profit from someone else who wanted to go.

If I had paid £140 for tickets and then couldn’t go for some reason, I can honestly say that I would only be asking face value for them.
