Will Alfreton lose their TV money now the game is off?

They were probably desperate to have it on.

I remember when we played Alfreton once in the Conference and it was on BT and the Grimsby team coach got lost and the game kicked off about an hour and a half late. Watching BT Sport scrambling around trying to fill out 90mins of additional build up for Alfreton v Grimsby was absolutely captivating car crash telly. The even wheeled out John Fenty for an on pitch interview.

Anyway no pitch inspection at Oxford for our match it's just GAME ON, which seems mental as my train rolls in and there's plenty of frost and snow on the outskirts.

Alfreton tried there best to get it played ridiculous to leave it so late.
Should the ref not be taking charge on that one and calling it off?

What did he expect a national league north side to do about the frost since this morning?

It's the ref's call but he would no doubt have had some pressure in his ear from the television to try and keep it on if it's at all possible.

Evenish game so far at Maidstone, but leading 1-0 Whitfield scoring after a defensive mistake

Some players avoid celebrating when they score against their old side. Macauley Bonne seemingly not one of those players.
Gillingham looking impressive.

How very bloody Barrow. I was convinced we were losing this one - it can only really be complacency.

Up the free-scoring Gills. We were excellent, reduced Charlton to one early Alfie May effort and not a lot else. We should've had comfortably more than 2, Bonne missed a couple of sitters and we had other good openings through Lapslie and Malone but I'll take the 2 goals and progression.

Great result for Maidstone too, especially after losing their best player to injury in the first half.

Only 3 L2 sides made it through today out of the 8 that had games. Well done Morecambe, Gillingham and Sutton.

Typical of us that. Shouldn't be massively bothered given the good form and position we've been in but a result like that is always annoying.

bit disrespectful to Maidstone, who do Barrow think they are?
Yes, I was thinking that. Were Barrow that bad?
If you buy a ticket for a match, then there's always a chance of your team losing. All ticket purchasers know that, don't they?
Sets a precedent that will be impossible to maintain.

Maidstone had some of the nicest fans I met in the Trust tent during our NL days so pleased for them with the win.

Some of our lot looked like they were running through treacle today compared to Oxford who are rapido. Rodrigues did a wobbler and got booked just before half time and then subbed off in the interval @Nottsfans  We had chances to equalise in a period of being on top and then Oxford score a second to kill the game with their first attack of the second half. Still we played some okay football and almost held our own against a better side.

Two tough trips down in the Home Counties (if Oxfordshire is counted as that?) for Artell to start with and we've done well in general. Looking forward to seeing what we're capable of at home with a full week's training put in.

Received the expected pummeling from a stronger, faster and much taller side. To cap things off some nob threw a flare which hit a small child in the back of his head.

bit disrespectful to Maidstone, who do Barrow think they are?

Without the context behind it I appreciate it might look this way, but I don't think it would be anyone's intention to be disrespectful towards Maidstone. I for one hope they get a good draw tomorrow.

The fans that travelled down on the bus(es) today with an early get up have had (and still are having) a nightmare by the sounds of things. There was a problem with one of the buses so some got stuck around Manchester and didn't make it to the ground until about 15 mins before kick off. They weren't getting back until late anyway, but with the snow we've had in Cumbria under an amber weather warning they might not even make it back tonight at all. M6 and the main roads are impassable in places by the sounds of things with cars and vehicles stranded.

Obviously the wording of the statement suggests it's all to do with the result and in hindsight could've been better, but I think it was more of a gesture as a thanks for their continued support especially given the twat of a journey they've suffered. For what it's worth, it seems most if not all aren't taking up the offer anyway, and are just taking it on the chin that shit happens every so often.
